I saw them support Poison back in 93 and the whole band came outside the venue beforehand and hung out with the fans.

My mate offered Chip a chip (fries to you) and he stole the whole pack, then gave them back because they had Vinegar on .. heh heh.

I booked my ticket at 12:30 last night, so they may not sell out that quick. Quite pricey this time though.

As for the Sirens, are they supporting again?

Last time I saw Panther at Brixton they supported (they are basically a bunch of exotic dancers who dance to rock music).

Steven was sick, I hope he feels better on the future dates. Steve told the crowd out of the 35 years doing shows, This was the worst one he ever done and apoliguised to the crowd. Kix still put on a great show and my friends thought it was great as well. I think it's a crime, that Kix never became a household name like Crue and Poison. They are a far better live band..

Spread Eagle? Didn't do anything for me at this show.

I did find a Ronnie 10/10 Blue Vultures guitar pic on the floor..

Just got back from seeing Crue, Leppard and Panther ... fucking amazing gig.

Motley were certainly the show stealers for me, with Steel Panther second and Leppard a small distance behind.

Actually made it to the front row by some miracle, and got fake blood spat on my four or five times by Nikki Sixx (I kept challenging him to spit more), and had a couple of buckets of water thrown over me by Tommy Lee, so I am in fucking heaven.

Steve was pretty sick for both shows over this past weekend. He went to the doctor after the New Jersey and was told he should cancel any upcoming shows for the next couple months. It appears that this may be more serious than just a cold. By the way he was talking it seems like it is possible that the 30 years of singing may have taken its toll on his voice.

On another note... Last nights show was held at a Fire Hall. Good thing as about 3 songs into the set a fire started on the stage. One of the stage lights on the side of the stage shifted and came into contact with a curtain and caught it on fire. Smoke filled the stage and the first 10 or so rows of fans. All the fire men we the security force at the show and they swarmed the stage and put out the fire. The show was delayed for about 25 minutes or so.

be catching up with him

Tomorrow night (Friday 12/30/11)... CHILD'S PLAY Reunion.

I'm so looking forward to this one... It has been forever since I've seen Child's Play with Brian Jack. I've decided to skip going out on New Year's Eve and hit this show instead.

I'm so looking forward to this one... It has been forever since I've seen Child's Play with Brian Jack. I've decided to skip going out on New Year's Eve and hit this show instead.

The whole day prior to this show I was trying to lower my expectations for this show so I wasn't let down. Child's Play hit the stage with "Good Ol' Rock and Roll" and from that instant I knew that a let down wasn't possible. Nicky Kay was spot on with guitar playing and Idzi (who I hadn't seen in nearly 20 years) was still holding his own on bass. And as expected, John Allen was a beast on drums. Two or three songs into the set it became evident that Brian Jack had been drinking heavily prior to going on stage. Brian's drinking didn't effect the songs, as his voice was surprisingly good. His between song banter did slow the show down a bit... but not to the point that it influenced my enjoyment of the show itself. There was a pretty good crowd considering it was the night prior to New Year's Eve. The set consisted of every song from the "Rat Race" release plus an couple of covers, including an AC/DC song. Child's Play also pulled out a couple old unreleased songs from their past, which nearly the whole crowd was singing along.

All in all this was a great night. It isn't often when a band can take you back in time like Child's Play did last night. Tons of emotions were flowing through me the whole night.. You have to remember that I had probably seen this band 30 or 40 times back in the day. When Child's Play was an active band was probably some of the best years of my life. It was great to be able to reflect back on those days.

It was also cool to run into people I hadn't seen in 20 years... There were a ton of old Hammerjack's regulars at the show. I was even approached by some guy who I didn't recognize at all. He called me by my name so I started chatting with him. I was somewhat embarrassed when I had to ask him who he was... turns out he was a guy who I worked with and went to a few shows with back in the mid-80's.

I don't think Child's Play could reunite and play shows like KIX has... but I am glad that they were able to do it for this one very special night.

Very Cool Dave. Thanks for being candid in your review. Hopefully this show will be released.

    • I can tell you that at the very least, there are people from FEMA working with some of the local businesses (my employer included) as far as looking at what aid is available to them. On the flip side, I've heard that one of the FEMA directors "got an attitude" with a few folks in the Asheville area and got popped in the mouth. I can't confirm that, just a story that's making the rounds.
    • Glad you and yours are ok Mike. There's been a lot of buzz on social media about the LACK of response from FEMA and the current admin. Have you seen or heard anything on the ground one way or the other?
    • Not sure if anyone has noticed my absence over the last 10 days, but I've only been able to sign in a few times from work over the course of that period. As some of you may know, on Friday, September 27th, Hurricane Helene slammed into western North Carolina and absolutely devastated this area, leveling entire towns in its path. In my 52 years on this planet, I've never seen destruction like this with my own eyes.  While my home and property were spared any major problems, our road looked like a damn warzone with all the trees and powerlines down. We were literally trapped like rats in a maze for several days, as even though some good samaritans were able to cut their way through the downed trees so we could leave the neighborhood, all roads leading out of this area were closed off, either due to trees and lines down, or due to flooding.   I was out of work for six days, as my employer had no power. We had no power here at the house for 9 days, with it being restored late yesterday evening. We lost several hundred dollars worth of food that thawed out from our fridge and freezers. No hot water after day one, no cell signal for several days, no stores or restaurants open for several days... If it sounds like I'm complaining, I assure you, I am not. I am grateful. My family and friends are blessed, as we're all pretty much back up and running now. While there was some severe flooding here in Morganton just around two miles from my house, overall, it was MILD around here. Once you drive a mere 20 miles up the road to a little town called Old Fort in McDowell County, and everything west from there, it is exponentially worse. Huge chunks of Asheville under water, Chimney Rock literally wiped off the map, Spruce Pine damn near wiped away, small towns with no communication to the outside world with people struggling. It is BAD here in Western NC, and it's going to take a LONG time for things to get back to some semblance of normal for ALOT of people.  I just felt the need to post and let anyone who might have noticed I was MIA that I am fine, but that alot of good people are not. Please keep western North Carolina in your thoughts and prayers, and if that's not your thing, drink one for all of us tonight. Here are a few links that I've shared over the last week on FB that show the devastation around here... https://fb.watch/v331QebVRJ/ https://www.facebook.com/100067755911039/videos/1069274148086583/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/ER9b6tv8oj84QuWb/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/9MpnKZUAx4m5oy3y/ All these aerial shots are from around 1-2 miles from my house: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/vux5WpAqeMDcNMhS/ https://fb.watch/v33x13dnTf/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/V6RPz7HiiMhrBsfn/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/vvEuMCm7We6fitZ9/ https://www.facebook.com/share/v/jE1utxkfNLeKEM9S/ Park Rangers in Chimney Rock managed to get the flag raised up again...
    • I've got a solid top 3 at this point.  At least for me, these 3 are heads and shoulders above everything else: 1.  Kissin' Dynamite 2.  Eclipse 3.  Maverick After that, it's really a hodgepodge of stuff.  New Roses, Daughtry (Only an EP but digging it), Collateral, Sebastian Bach, Judas Priest, Nestor, End Machine.  I'd probably put them in about that order at the moment.
    • So I was just looking at the new releases I bought from this year, and while there are some new additions to expand from the top 5 I posted earlier this year, to a top 10, all the stuff in my original list are still in the top 10 (although obvs with three months to go, the ones near the bottom could be usurped). Anyway as of now, this is where I am at: 1.       Judas Priest 2.       The Warning 3.       Nek! 4.       Rolling Quartz 5.       Band Maid 6.       April Art 7.       Lipz 8.       Sebastian Bach 9.       Mick Mars 10.   Durbin
    • I to used see them a few times at the Middle as well. With local chapter of the Hells Angels at front bar. Not much a Screaming Jets fan, so I didn't watch them with Gleeson' The guy in front now, was their recent drummer before they put out in front Those first five albums are classics
    • My brother was playing some of this guy's stuff a few months ago. I only now got around to checking it out for myself. Pretty fuckin' good!
    • Seems these guys are no more   https://sleazeroxx.com/r-i-p-cobrakill-lead-guitarist-randy-white-announces-band-no-longer-exists/
    • I grew up listening to Cuntry, and have kinda wanted to get back into it. But not the typical New Cuntry shit. So I'll give this a try.
