Saw Dragonforce weekend before last - great gig. Support was Alestorm (fantastic band to get drunk to) and the Defiled. (Who I might like if I was 14. But i'm not so I didn't)

Next up Motorhead and Anthrax at Pompey Guildhall then next February UFO finally play Portsmouth.

Guest Poison99

Hi guys

I was hoping you could help me out.

I'm an Australian who is going to be in NYC at the end of December. KIX, who I love and am resigned to never seeing play here, are playing in Baltimore on the 29th. I'm not geographically familiar with the area and don't have much of an idea about transport, but would it be possible for me to catch a train from NYC - Baltimore, get to the Rams Head venue and back to NYC on the same night after the show? Alternately, are there any other ways of getting there/back? It looks like there's an Amtrak train departing at 10.30pm but I suspect that will be too early for a show where the doors are at 8pm.

If anyone has any local knowledge and could tell me - that'd be awesome.

Went to see Motorhead/Anthrax/Diaries of a Hero at Portsmouth Guildhall last night

DOAH were ok but nothing special. Typical Kerrang metal really. I did think it was a bit cheeky for them all to troop offstage at one point and leave the drummer playing a solo.

Anthrax were fun - Joey Belladonna being particularly hyperactive.

Motorhead - Ok but nothing special. They seemed to be going through the motions a bit. Bloody loud though. I had my earplugs in to tone it down a bit and still left with my ears hissing. Oh, and the moshpit suddenly trebled in size when "Ace of spades " came on.

After seeing Motorhead on their 25th anniversary Bomber tour I vowed to never go again due to health concerns. I mean I didnt have earplugs (after all WTF are they lol??)....BUT it was sooooooo bloody loud it was ridiculous. First gig in 30 years that I had to walk out from mid way through.............

Lizzy / FM & The Treatment at the end of the month.

A mate of mine went to see Lizzy a while back, and reckons they were really good ... I love Thin Lizzy, but I have real issues with the current version ... surely it's just a couple of guys who were in Thin Lizzy back in the day, a couple of blokes who weren't and Ricky Warwick? It's a bit like Dave Murray, Nicko McBrain and a handful of fellas going out under the name Iron Maiden ...

Won't get too hung up on that - bands in our genre change members so often I've lost count in some cases.

Your example being an ironically good choice ;-)

  • My Little Pony

Journey, Loverboy, and Night Ranger in four hours. If we're fortunate, it'll be in that order. But I doubt it.

Great show! Night Ranger tore the roof off the sucker and Loverboy swept up leaving a nice platform for Journey... But they didn't really go anywhere with it. That may just be me not being a serious Journey fan. "Faithfully" was phenomenal, I have to admit. Great seats, too. I bought nose bleeds, but we walked into the lower bowl and found seats eight rows up in a section that never filled up. It was strange. Everything around us filled up, but not where we were. Really made it worth the price.

Thinking about venturing out to The Hollywood Casino for a free show with Eddie Money this Friday night.

The next month of two are filled with shows... 3 KIX show... 2 DORO / Sister Sin Shows... Charm City Devils... and rumor of a possible SR-71 show.
