Watched the other 2 Fear Street flicks. Pretty good and wrapped up well.

Also was bored today so started watching Good Burger on Netflix.
Fucking funny if you turn your brain off and go with it. Stoopid dad type jokes, but they worked.

I haven't watched it yet but this goes straight to my "must see" list.

Pig starring Nicholas Cage.

“Someone steals Nicolas Cage’s pig, and so he sets out to get it back.”

They really aren't so bad as far as suspense goes.
For us anyway. We kinda know the game and know when to expect the 'startle'
Maybe kids might be a little scared, but overall these movies are pretty tame.
Think Scary Movie. In fact not as bad as that even.

There are a few gory parts. decapitations, axe in head etc

Was pretty good, looking forward to parts 2 (just released) and 3 (released soon)

Is that based on the R.L. Stine books? You remember those? Back in the day when R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike ruled teen fiction. Used to love Christopher Pike, and still do, to be honest.

I'm not sure if it was discussed here, but a quick Google search would tell you that almost nobody enjoyed it.

I have no idea....

I have no time for books as a general rule.
If they are good enough, they will make them into a movie :)

Watched "The Block Island Sound" 2021 last night. Creepy, netflix low budget horror/thriller with an original plot twist. Won't give too much away but it is among the best Netflix films I have seen recently.

Watched "Pig" tonight finally.

I can see why it scored 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. I loved it. Moving, original and memorable. My favourite of 2021 so far.

And Nick Cage at his best.

Saw The Wrong Missy again over the weekend. One of my favorite movies.

Also saw Gunpowder Milkshake. A cross between Sin City and Kill Bill. A fun movie that was entertaining throughout.

Went to the cinema today and watched The Suicide Squad, really enjoyed it and for me ,better than the first which I enjoyed,Stallone is excellent as the Shark King...numbnumb  :)

Tonight we got Jungle Cruise from Disney+ for us all to watch, saved a fortune by doing that instead of individual tickets at the flicks and my boys can now watch it when they want(handy over summer),really good, enjoyed it a lot,a sort of cross between Indiana Jones & Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Going to the cinema after such a long break feels special again, doesn't it :)

Yeah, been a long time,we took my youngest to see Space Jam A New Legacy 2 weeks ago on a wee mini break away and it was the first time i'd been in a cinema since December '19 when watching The Rise Of Skywalker.

So a little bit of normality slowly creeping back,we still operate at 1/3 capacity and when you book seats those around you 3 to each side automatically lock to allow distancing.

Saw Pig, with Nic Cage. Was ok, watchable I guess. Wouldn't see it again.

Also saw Jolt which was about some chick who jolted herself with a zap of electricity to control her anger, and her journey in pursuit of bad guys. Could have been so much better, One of those movies that didn't know if it was action, or comedy, and didn't work as both.

The Forever Purge. Obvious poke at former president Trump and racism run amuck in the kill everyone franchise. Massive production but not much else going for it as if you saw one you saw them all.

Jungle Cruise. As previously mentioned this cgi littered PotC, Indiana Jones, Disney movie was a hoot. Turn the brain off and enjoy. Couple criticisms, 1) I wish the cgi snakes were better and 2) the use of Metallica's Nothin Else Matters "re-imagined" in the opening (and once again later) almost had me shuttin' this one down b4 it got started, sorry it has no place in this movie.

Was a fair movie, reasonably unique.

Dunno if that convinces me to watch it or not. ;}

Not the sort of movie that you can recommend.
People who hate that M Knight Shamalam (or whatever) movies won't like it.
It was a bit weird. No way kids in a family are so happy to play together like they did all the time and are so close.
Predictable at times, but watching it you kinda know roughly how it will end, but not how you're gonna get there.
Check out the trailer, but if you're up for it, I'd try watching without the trailer, I think you'd enjoy it more.

    • So finally got around to listening to the album (still waiting for CD to arrive but at least a digital version came with the order). This is defo the best album he has released since leaving Skid Row, and is better than anything released by his former band (even the Erik fronted album). I liked his solo stuff, but he was always trying too hard to be modern and heavy, so there were very few actual stand out tracks. On here though it really is more of a throwback. While not quite classic Skid Row, it is probably as close as we will ever get, kinda sitting somewhere sonically between the first two albums. The only downside for me is the fact there is only one ballad and it doesn't even come close to the two that featured on Angel Down. Seb took a long break between this and his previous album, and I think in that time he has taken time to reevaluate what he wants to do musically. As stated earlier, even the album cover is a throwback with it being a painting his father started decades ago. Hopefully any future releases will stick to this style, and not return to the style used on his last few albums.
    • Not sure, but sounds like christian lyrics to me. And could'nt find it on HH yet. 25 years ago I would have loved this, today I'm atheist and do not listen anymore to such... explicit lyrics.
    • Spider of Destiny-Frank Zappa
    • I got it for free when I bought the Dirty Americans album. It's a cool little sampler.
    • Ha, I remember them. Good stuff.
    • Better than I expected, honestly, as GUN was never my thing.
    • Agree. Have been a fan of Halestorm and Lzzy....she's fantastic. That said though, this Skid Row thing just feels "off" to me.  She sounds fine but I think it's simply that hearing a female voice do the songs just doesn't seem right after listening to the originals for so long.   I much prefer hearing Lzzy in Halestorm.  I'd rather see her concentrate on that and also concentrate on doing new music that's more in line with their first 2 albums!
    • From memory it was recorded after the original pledge release of Beautiful things and was added as a bonus song when it became available to the general public.
