H.E.A.T - Into The Great Unknown

Its. Fucking. Fantastic.

I can't remember what you said about Tearing Down The Walls before it came out (although I think it got a perfect score on the website), but how do you feel about it 3 years after release?

I loved TDTW from almost straight away....it grew on me before I reviewed. This one is extraordinary straight outta the box. Still adore both the Erik fronted albums - among my favourites in the last decade. This will go nicely with those.

Man, this is music to my ears. The two Erik albums are among my all-time favorites - way ahead of the earlier albums. If this one is in the mix with the other Erik stuff - BRING. IT. ON.

Not really it's just I'd prefer a really cool medium paced song to break the rockers than a sappy ballad.

I like some cool acoustic ballads, hopefully they throw one in it :D

The more I listen, the more different I realise it is. 6 rockers, 4 ballad/moody/angst/intense songs.

Samples?!

Just hoping there is a single soon....I just feel like I'm getting really, really teased when bands announce albums and release dates without launching a single along with it. Give me something to sink my teeth into :taz:

That said, I've already pre-ordered this without hearing a single song :)

Unfortunately, in the USA, "bonus" is 2 words.

(see what I did there?)

(SEE IT?!?!?)

A lot of times, I end up liking bonus tracks better than some of the main offerings.

The first song is a while yet. August?

I think with TDTW they released the first single about 2 months ahead of the album release.

And Degreed is on the same label....They released Shakedown in May and their album isn't releasing until late August....

I know all that could mean nothing but just trying to convince myself that maybe we'll see something this month :git:

Starting to see some reviews on this album surface...

The third one is some other language and a little difficult to read translated, but just included since it seems to present some different thoughts.

I think all I'm taking from these is that the album is going to have a bit different approach than the last one. It definitely sounds like they're using more keyboards and modern/pop type elements in some songs. Maybe it's fair to say they're really trying to blend the styles from the last two albums as ATN was clearly more AOR oriented than TDTW in my opinion. I loved both albums so doesn't really matter to me.

It's going to be a long couple months LOL.

Dropping the lead off single only 2 weeks prior to release seems kind of late.

Heard some Spanish podcast that played 5 songs off the album. The songs were Bastard of Society, Redefined, Shit City, Eye Of The Storm and Blind Leads The Blind. I'm sure it isn't authorized and will be killed soon enough. I just didn't have the will power to not listen lol.

Sounds pretty darn good to me. Bastard and Blind both rock and are highlights for me and sounds like TDTW holdovers. Eye is the power ballad...pretty good. Shit City is different but better than I expected from the name. Redefined is also different....probably the kind of song that will grow and the least immediate for me of the ones I heard.

Definitely some variety in the songs I heard. Probably need to hear how the whole album fits together before really making much judgement.

Do you have a link to where we can find that podcast?

Those tracks all sound pretty good. Bastard of Society and Blind Leads the Blind were the ones that stood out the most though after the one listen.

    • Press release: UK rock band, CATS IN SPACE, have announced the release of their fourth album ‘Atlantis‘ on November 27th via Harmony Factory / Cargo Records UK. The first single ‘I Fell Out of Love with Rock n’ Roll‘ will be released on October 30th. CATS IN SPACE return with their fourth studio album this Winter with the sensational ‘ATLANTIS’. Nine months in the making, it is set to cause tidal waves around the globe with a sound still ‘very Cats’ but this time the ‘Rock claws’ are out. In a year which has seen much upheaval in the world, the band have also undergone some changes whilst buried deep beneath the ocean recording their new masterpiece. Joining the Cats onboard is none other than the star of Jeff Wayne’s ‘War of the Worlds’, the amazing DAMIEN EDWARDS, whose incredible vocal range has brought another dimension to the unique sounds of the band. After three hugely acclaimed and successful albums, this new line-up will certainly get the fans buzzing in anticipation of the new ‘Aquatic monster’. “Atlantis has been a testing journey for the band in many ways, taking into account some personal events and indeed the state of the business due to Covid-19. But, let us reassure you all, we believe that the new record is going to blow you away. It rocks more and has more symphony, courtesy of our good friend Mike Moran and his orchestra! We are super excited for everyone to hear what we believe is our finest album yet” – Greg Hart. Tracklist: 1. Dive! 2. Spaceship Superstar 3. Revolution 4. Sunday Best 5. Listen To The Radio 6. I Fell Out Of Love With Rock ‘n Roll 7. Marionettes 8. Queen Of The Neverland 9. Magic Lovin’ Feelin’ 10. Can’t Wait For Tomorrow 11. Seasons Change 12. Atlantis
    • Mayhem With Mercy - Venom

    • New song 'Castaway'. Nice!
    • So I just heard this song, you all probably know of it, or not, I fucking really really like this song, I think it fucking rocks, but rocks in like a crossover Punk-Goth-Raw Hard Rock throwback to the Black Flag - Loose Nut type days, this song is completely raw, unpolished, and just dirty,
    • I know a few years ago I posted the very first BA song off his very first album, pretty much sarcastically, as it made me want to throw on some daisy dukes, roller skates and bop up and down my street chewing bubble gum and dancing, well I was wrong, it wasn't his first song, this one is, and guess what? it's a million times better then his old first song, I even got the disco remix, this is pure hilarity, I couldn't stop laughing after hearing this, and like his other first song, this has a mind tormentingly catchy beat to it, caution it will lure you in and get you, also, some company out of Canada BA deals with hunts uploads of this song down with intensity, anyone that gets uploaded to YouTube generally is caught by it's bots on the UL, if not that company snags it within a couple days, so I had to upload an artist who has a similar name and his song that also has a similar name, lets see how long we can keep this up there, and why the fuck does that company care if it's out there? that's almost Nancy Drew script material, very fucking odd, anyway, when your done laughing,, lets hear your thoughts.
    • err just to make this absolutely clear - this is not coming from me.  And that is not a panic stricken website it is the official UK government website with comments directly from our health secretary ffs you do what u like. at 30 odd years old yes your risk is prob negligible. At nearly 51 I would be far greater risk category even being fit for my age. And as for my parents they would prob die sadly. both have had their yearly flu jab so that risk in minor in comparison - for covid there is no treatment or vaccine. Comparing the two is quite frankly bollocks. so I continue to be careful and prudent  but I am not living my life in fear thank you very much and I am not doom mongering
