By the way what's the shame on you song around the 35 min mark?

Shame was a bonus track on the Japanese release version of Tearing Down the Walls

Those tracks all sound pretty good. Bastard of Society and Blind Leads the Blind were the ones that stood out the most though after the one listen.

Thanx for the link man, that was awesome!

Sounds to me like they picked up exactly where they left off with Tearing Down the Walls.

I prefer the first two Kenny fronted albums, but they still deliver quality albums, and the songs eventually grow on you, my favourite of these 5 songs were "Blind Leads the Blind".

My ranking of H.E.A.T's albums are as follows

1. Freedom Rock

2. S/T

3. Address the Nation

4. Tearing Down the Walls

Based on the 5 tracks I've heard I'm guessing the new record will be either fourth or fifth, as I doubt it will top ATN.

Complete opposite for me...TSTW, ATN..........S/T, Freedom Rock. Just never got into Kenny's voice for some reason.

For me though, I never got into these guys until ATN came out. I bought that album, loved it and then went back to listen to their earlier albums and they just don't appeal to me. There's some good songs though and I like them when they do them live with Erik.

Not trying to start and Erik versus Kenny thing.....sometimes you just don't like something for no real reason :)

As for the new songs, I'm digging them. I'd say Redefined is the only one I'm a little hesitant on...It's okay but my least favorite of the five.

It'll be interesting to see what they choose as the lead single. I'd vote for Bastard of Society or Blind Leads The Blind. I think if they lead with Redefined they could have a lot of people scratching their heads.

Agreed. Freedom Rock is a slab of amazing AOR tunes and the S/T has "Cry" which is beyond fantastic. Kenny really showcases his amazing vocal talent in Cry

Remember hearing the samples to the self titled before release and nearly shat myself, couldnt believe a new band had recorded this, bought the album as soon as it was released and love all their ouput thus far, they have changed style in a heavier direction but still a class act,so i'd say the self titled holds my #1 spot simply because of that initial feeling from the 2007 samples

Sounding very average to these ears but to each their own.

I'm with you on that, unfortunately. I like Redefined a lot though :)

I've not listened to any samples. Will just listen to the whole album in Sept.

Some songs sounded OK after a couple of listens, but I sure didn't blow a load over it.

I predict a decent album that most here fall in love with and I think is OK.

Hopefully I will be surprised.

Yeah, for me.

I think there would be 4 or 5 songs of the last album that I would put on a best of CD. Which is pretty good.

I guess I have high standards.

Overall, it is, without a doubt. It's got some really cool stuff on it and is a millions miles away from actually being a bad album, but as a complete album I think it's pretty clearly their weakest.

Not for me...TDTW is #1.

If I were going to list my 10 favorite H.e.a.t songs, I'd say probably 5 would be from this album and probably 4 from ATN. I'd squeeze one song in from the other 2 albums.

I just like the style of the last 2 albums way more than the first two.

As much as I've tried to dig the first 2 discs, I just don't.

Erik made this band incredible. They were just okay with Kenny.

Yeah TDTW is the worst by a fair margin, sadly. I tend to listen to Point of no return and Emergency then turn it off.

I definitely don't want to hear anything more from them that sounds anything like A shot at redemption. Hopefully that one is gone from the next tour songlist...

Yep X2.

For me, first 2 discs aren't even in the same league. It's like a totally different band.

I guess some like it...some don't....and some like both. Is what it is.

I prefer the heavier, edgier style.

    • Make Love Like a Man - Def Leppard.   Released as a single from "Adrenalize". I've always hated it. Easily the worst DL song IMO.
    • Thanks mate. I don't know why I was having trouble finding it.
    • what a weird album.  The first 4 tracks are all great and exactly what I want to hear from TMF. then 2 gigantic fillers absolutely kills it imo.  the album in the second half loses momentum - 2 or 3 solid songs at best before a strong end in winner takes all. overall I think the Defiants is much better and teds last solo offering was awesome. I do like those first 4 tracks tho
    • Seems like they stuck with the same gritty approach to production but it sounds a lot better than the debut. I'm digging this one!
    • I do like the song itself, but I would agree it's such a drastic change in pace that it disrupts the flow quite a bit.  I probably would have swapped that with 'Look Into Me' and placed it near the end of the album.
    • An evolution on the debut in the sound and production...more mature...more Defiants like😂 The title track sure crashes the momentum after the first four awesome tracks.
    • Ok now that I have listened to it several times, this is my favourite song and it's a beauty. The last track on the album 'Last Train'. You get the vibe of Los Angeles and Sunset in one song. One of the best songs I have heard so far in 2020.
    • It’s an anti “best of” list.  Songs that were big hits or band’s signature tracks that to be honest are not a favourite of yours...you can’t even add them to a “best of” mix on your phone or on a CDR...and some just down right suck!   Headed For A Heartbreak- Winger (so boring!) Wanted Dead Or Alive - Bon Jovi (Dead please!) Dude Looks Like A Lady - Aerosmith (awful!)..Rag Doll was even worse Cherry Pie - Warrant (not a bad song but the majority of the rest of the album is way better) Mr. Roboto - Styx (I still can’t forgive Dennis for that mess) More Than Words- Extreme (I like the song but damn that was so not the Extreme sound in general...my dad thought it was the Everly Brothers) When The Children Cry - White Lion (I cry because I can’t take it anymore...too sappy) Pretty Fly For A White Guy - The Offspring (nice sell out boys) Enter Sandman - Metallica (It’s almost become a jingle and was so over played) Silent Lucidity- Queensryche (I saw them live and they ended the concert with this one...talk about not leaving the show on a high)
