"Meet the Feebles" (1989)

Peter Jackson followed up "Bad Taste" with this all-puppet exploitation flick centered around a Muppets-style troop of performing animals. As they prep for the broadcast of a live TV special, these critters swear, drink, have sex, deal and use drugs, eat crap, and basically do stuff we don't usually see puppets doing.

I thought "Mr. No Legs" was gonna be the most WTF movie I'd see this year, but "Feebler" takes the frickin cake, folks. EVERYTHING about this movie is guaranteed to offend somebody, from the 'Nam flashbacks of a heroin-addicted frog to a rat that films rape porn on the side to a fox's show-stopping musical number about sodomy, "Feebles" is a hilariously tasteless, ultra sleazy one-of-a-kind experience. You'll feel like you need a shower when it's over.

"Intruder" (1989)

The night crew at a small town supermarket is locked in with a mysterious psycho killer, who makes good use of the store's wide variety of dangerous implements (meat hooks, cleavers, knives, etc.) to pick them all off. This nicely twisted little slasher/splatter flick makes the most of its unique setting and sports some truly gross gore effects (courtesy of Greg Nicotero, later of "The Walking Dead" fame, and his KNB FX Group).

"Intruder's" cult following seems to stem mainly from its connection to the "Evil Dead" series - Sam Raimi ("E.D." creator) and his bro Ted both have roles in this film, director Scott Spiegel co-wrote "Evil Dead II," and Bruce "Ash" Campbell even turns up for a brief cameo - but it's a nasty little piece of work in its own right.

Keeping Up With The Jonses.
Sadly, decided to see this one at the movies rather than Jack Reacher 2

Not a movie worth the big screen.

Was OK, but only OK.

My wife enjoyed it more than me.

"Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives" (1986)
Tommy Jarvis is all growed up, but he's still suffering from Jason flashbacks after his experiences in the previous two "F13's"... so he digs up Jason's grave hoping to destroy his body once and for all. Unfortunately a stray bolt of lightning re-animates The Big J, and soon things end badly for a fresh batch of counselors at good ole Camp Crystal Lake.
This one's a sentimental fave cuz it's the first "Friday" that I was old enough to see in a theater back in the day. You can definitely see the "MTV" influences on this chapter - it's fast paced, quite funny in places, and has some decent action scenes in addition to the usual chop-n-slice mayhem. Plus, the female lead (Jennifer Cooke, previously seen in TV's "V") is quite possibly the hottest "final girl" of the entire F13 series. All this and a theme song by Alice Cooper too!

Ex-Machina This movie was not bad at all. Not for the individual with short attention span and a dislike for dialogue driven suspense but it worked for me.

Yup. I thought it was decent. Not amazing, interesting. And good acting.

Paranormal Activity 4 ~ why? did this get made ( i know cash grab) and more importantly why did I watch it?

Batman vs Superman ~ this one had as I am sure you know already heaps of cgi action, however it is riddled with an equal amount of plot holes and WTF moments. Curious to see how if number 2 happens they feather in the other mentioned heroes...

The Revenant: A little drawn out (long) and I really wished the end would have been different.

Hillarys America

DINESH-DSOUZA-book-cover-Hillarys-Americ Democrats (in one form or another) have been a evil influence on America since Lincoln's days. What they have done, are doing and plan on doing to America & Americans is plain and simple evil. Corrupt, Dishonest, Ungodly. This documentary shows from their beginning the facts of how Democrats for decades have trapped, enslaved & ruined America. And anyone that votes for Hillary is a contributor to that evil!

"Tales From the Darkside: The Movie" (1990)

The syndicated TV favorite jumps to the big screen in an anthology style flick. A boy trying to avoid becoming a witch's dinner distracts her by spinning three tales of terror, involving a mummy on campus, a strangely un-killable cat, and a man unable to keep a dark secret. Fun stuff with a great cast incl. Christian Slater, Steve Buscemi, David Johansen and Debbie Harry.

Perhaps if they had a viable alternative they wouldn't ;)

And anyone that votes for Trump is a contributor to another evil. It's a no win election.

"Silent Night, Bloody Night" (1972)

It's Christmas Eve in New England, and a mansion that's been empty for 20 years is about to go on the selling block. Needless to say, the house has a sordid past. When some interested parties and curiosity seekers drop by to check the place out, they learn that an axe wielding maniac has been calling the place home and he doesn't take kindly to visitors. Yikes!
I mostly enjoyed this moody, creepy bit of early '70s gothic horror, unfortunately the copy I watched was in such poor condition that it was tough to tell exactly what was going on at times, especially during the night time scenes.
This flick was remade a couple of years ago as "Silent Night, Bloody Night: The Homecoming," which I may check out next.

Not a movie but binged on the newest series from David Duchovny Aquarius and I found it rather enjoyable. For those not familiar it is a crime drama set in the 60's and swirling around a young Charles Manson among other period related issues.

After watching season 1 I had to search out the interweb to see if there was any other seasons and I see a season 2, SPOILER it is now cancelled. What I found interesting is this is a network show, NBC, however on the DVD release they included all the cursing and nudity they edited out for the network presentation. I didn't watch it on TV so I can't say it was worse because of the edits, but I will say DD uses fuck liberally, there is plenty of nudity and the violence is good and graphic. That said the show could loose some of its punch when viewed in the edited format.!?

    • Added Framing the Red over on the main site recently: Framing the Red discography reference list of music CDs. Heavy Harmonies Their website: Framing The Red Their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/framingtheredband Their YouTube channel: (23) Framing the Red Official Page - YouTube They have four releases, and all are quite good in my opinion. If I had to describe them, I'd say this is what Gunshine would sound like if they went in a more southern rock direction.  Here are some of my favorite tracks... Crossroads   Whiskey & Weed   Holy Water   Mississippi Hippie   Heroes   Bonnie & Clyde   Rockin' Into the Night (38 Special cover)   "Crossroads" and "Heroes" are probably my two faves.  *I will give a word of warning:  if you decide to purchase any of their discs, they are barebones releases with just the CD in a cardboard slipcase. I enjoy the music enough that that's not an issue for me though.  @lettard @KarpetRydOFunk @tts42572 @AlphaMale @Dead Planet @Mr.AOR @tobi is an animal I think all of you gentlemen should give these guys a listen and see what you think.
    • H.E.A.T - 1000 Miles Vega - Hands In The Air The Defiants - Stay Issa - River of Love I'm at work right now so that's all I know off the top of my head but I'll look through my library for more when I get a chance.
    • Maybe anything by the Darkness
    • Wig wam - hard to be a rock n roller
    • Saw these guys first time a couple of years ago, when they were 16-17 years old, they are absolutely awesome. They have been touring for a few years now, performing their own songs, yet haven't released anything, until now. I have tickets to see them this saturday, opening for Mercenary. First single and video:
    • I want to compile quite an extensive playlist of hard rock songs that has a key change in the end. Why? Cause I think it sounds awesome Some well known exambles are: Bon Jovi - Living On a Prayer Wig Wam - In My Dreams Danger Danger - Don't Blame it on Love H.E.A.T - Beg Beg Beg
    • My Japan copy showed up today. I was critical of the Part I album as that one just did very little for me.  Basically, I just didn't think the songs were all that catchy and/or memorable.  I played that album a handful of times trying to get into it and gave up rather quickly which was disappointing as I loved Wired.  Maybe I just had too high of expectations or something.  I know many liked that album but for me at least, that Megalomanium I album would be ranked toward the bottom of their discography. Well, after hearing this new one, I'm feeling the opposite....Here I feel like they nailed it and I'm digging this one after the first listen.  I basically couldn't wait to start it over and listen again. The first 5 songs just come out guns a blazing with catchy, hook filled songs.  Yeah, we've heard 4 of those songs as singles but I almost purposely haven't listened to those songs much so they'd still sound fresh when the album dropped.  Then the one song we hadn't heard, All I Want, is just another upbeat, catchy tune. The 2nd half though is where things probably get more interesting.  Songs like Dive Into You and To Say Goodbye are the kinds of varied balladish/mid-tempo type songs I've been wanting Eclipse to mix things up with and there's 2 of those songs here, both very well done IMO.  Then there's a couple heavier tunes like Divide & Conquer and One In A Million that sound like stuff that could've been on Bleed & Scream.  And then a couple other melodic rockers with Until the War is Over and Pieces. I also feel like this has some of the better lyrics that Eclipse has had in awhile.  I think a lot of their material recently has been just been sort of lighter subject matter, 3 minute "simplistic" romps.  I felt Part I had a lot of that which kind of contributed to it being less interesting.  Here though, it seems like some of these songs get a bit deeper and can feel more emotion in songs like Still My Hero, Dive Into You and To Say Goodbye for example.   Anyways, where Part I is among my least favorite Eclipse albums, I'd say my early impression of Part II is that it'll be among my favorite Eclipse albums.
    • New song 'Unbreakable'.
    • Solid hard rock album. Nothing really stood out to me, but it’s solid.
