Not heard Degreed or DaVinci yet, but my top 10 as of today would be;

9. Muna - About U

I'm really surprised you like the album that much. Cool.

Yeah, I love it. The best songs on it are just marvellous. So infectious too. I just find they're in my head all the time.

Hmmm..... what type of band? Modern rock?

Nope. They're a Synthpop/Pop Rock band. Very 80's sounding.

Don't even bother, Russ. I can assure you you'd hate it. ;)

Just listened to a few tracks. They kind of remind me of the Cranberries for some reason.

2 albums way way out in front so far ....i'll let you decide which ones they are ;)

I thought The Vamps album was pretty average, actually, and Taylor Swift's new one is her worst yet. But hey, to each their own. Enjoy them, sir. ;)

Yes,it's that good. As you rightly said the songs are so infectious. Been listening to the album every day. As of today, this will probably take the 2nd spot..Crazy lixx's Ruff Justice being the 1st.

  • My Little Pony

I checked out some tracks. Don't find it infectious at all.

Hardly HH material is it??

Definitely NOT.

Didn't find anything good about it.

Which is why I'm surprised I'm not the only one who likes it.

Mine so far:

H.e.a.t - Into The Great Unknown (Heard it all, like it plenty)

Crazy Lixx - Ruff Justice (Fantastic effort from these guys that is right there with H.e.a.t)

Eclipse - Monumentum

Tokyo Motor Fist (Was my #1 at one point this year but has faded a bit for me)

One Desire - S/T (Album continues to be one I find myself going back to)

Haren Scarem - United (Haven't traditionally liked much of their stuff but really like this album)

Degreed - S/T (Another solid, consistent effort)

I'm stopping there. A couple other releases like Art Nation and Warrant that I've enjoyed but not enough to list.

I see many touting Confess....I need to give that a closer look. I remember trying a few songs and it just didn't grab me. I remember that Animal Attraction video being good though :)

Only other release I think that could crack my list would be Midnite City. Based upon what I've heard, it could very well slot into my Top 5.

I still struggle with the production on the Tokyo Motor Fist

I do a bit too...just wish the songs were beefed up...little more richness in guitars and drums or something. I think that's partly why it's fallen a couple spots for me. Still good though.

Ok, off the top of my head, these would probably be in there - no order though at the moment

Degreed (heard this morning and its great except for the boring piano ballad)

Cats in Space (heard this morning.....just love this, some stunning songs and harmonies)

Night Flight Orchestra (pure genius, nuff said)

Tokyo Motor Fist (production still an issue for me, but great songs)

Brother Firetribe (massive and pompy)

Eclipse (they can do no wrong....great album again)

One Desire (huge surprise....love this album and great live too)

Crazy Lixx (their best imo - one killer tune after another)

Harem Scarem (big return to form)

and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Probably Lionville, or maybe Confess?? But these will easily be replaced with HEAT (heard enough to know I'll love it), Threshold, Boulevard, Rev Saints, JSS etc I reckon, or hope ;)

[PS not heard Kryptonite, Vain and a few others]

OK,

so this is probably making up my top 10 now (no order)

Eclipse

Crazy Lixx

One Desire

HEAT

Degreed

Night Flight Orchestra

Threshold

Cats in Space

Harem Scarem

again the tenth spot is being contested by a few.....Brother Firetribe, Wraith, Tokyo Motor Fist, Boulevard, Lionville, Confess.

However Midnite City will eclipse those and I still have high hopes for JSS, Rev Saints, Babylon AD and a few others.

Exciting year.
