For the record, do many of you guys know of her, and know her older films? She got into porn around 2000.

All I know about Monica Mayhem is that she was the centerfold in a "Club International" magazine that I picked up around 2001 or so. Never seen any of her films, but DAAAAAAAAAMN that centerfold was smokin'!

Yeah, the book came with quite a few pictures and there is no doubt she has an incredibly awesome body. And a nice enough face, but not one that would generally break the door down with awesomeness. But there's some nice piccies of her out there.

It was hard (literally) to do, but upon reading the book I felt obliged to check out a few of her scenes on the net and she looks good enough that if I'd have seen her / heard of her in the past I'd probably have checked out a few scenes from her. She certainly knows how to treat a penis, that was clearly evident. Great rack too. What a strenuous task, having to check out these scenes. :)

Oh, and because we're on a music forum I shouldn't leave without mentioning that she's actually a bit of a metalhead and:

1. The music she made with her band Sweet Avenge, was made with Ugly Kid Joe's Cordell Crocket. And he was the one kind of stable bandmate she kept, although he's now recording with someone else. Apparently they still plan to make music together, as most the stuff she has done is co-written with him.

2. She was the star of 'Sacred Sin', a porn film from 2005 which featured 2 new songs from Eddie Van Halen. Here's a small write-up on Blabbermouth:

Here's a video for the song, 'Rise', taken from the soundtrack, featuring Monica Mayhem in the actual clip:

Piccie of the book cover too:

While Flocks Last - Charlie Elder

A book about trying to find all the endangered bird species in the UK. Sounds a bit geeky, but quite funny and the subject matter is right up my street.

Also keep 'Phaic Tan' and 'Molvania' on my desk to dip into most lunch times. They are fake travel guides for completely fictional places and really are bloody hilarious. Highly recommended if you haven't read them.

The Music Lover's Guide to Record Collecting by Dave Thompson -- picked this up @ the library over the weekend. I'm kinda disappointed in the near-total lack of metal/hard rock content in this book (not even a token mention of MegaForce, New Renaissance, or Neat Records in the section on "collectible indie labels?" For shame!) but otherwise it's a gold mine of useless trivia to geek out on.

I finished Craig Ferguson's book and left incomplete. He spent much time on his early life/before being sober, but not much on it afterward. I kind of hoped, for all the years he was on the Drew Carey show, there'd be something interesting about that. (I can't imagine there weren't awesome stories.) Not as much on the Late, Late Show, either, though more than the DCS. VERY good book, just not anything about which I'd hoped (imagined) I'd read. I hope he's got another book coming along.

Borrowed from a friend (who found out about all my Elvis books), I read "Elvis & Me" by Priscilla Presley. Read it fast, just so I could return the book. I obviously knew about her age before I read the book, but very little about how much of a disciple she seemed. I'm not discounting what she called love, but it just bordered on something more, at least to me.

Just started a HUGE biography of Doc Holliday by Gary L. Roberts. I'm less than 100 pages into the book and it's not quite up to where he gains his legend, but much farther along than I'd have guessed. So, I'm guessing there's either even more in depth dissection of his famous past or this book moves around to different aspects of the examination of his life (so there are repeated trips through his life, each examining some other part of who Doc was). So many holes in stories that it becomes difficult to find out who John Henry Holliday really was, but it should be interesting.

I'm a HUGE fan of the legend of Doc Holliday, but as of now, this seems like a lot of rehashing of opinions and theories because so little was known about his past. (You always hear the expression "if I had a time machine", but this is one instance where it would really be apropos.)

Not sure how I'll feel after all the invested time and effort into this book, but it was definitely given due diligence in its research/preparation.

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn this is a must read for anyone who enjoys a great story and great writing. This is her second book, the first beeing Sharp Objects.

Also read and rather enjoyed Johannes Cabal the Necromancer by Jonathan L. Howard.

In the process of reading these 4:

My Booky Wook by Russell Brand

Hell Bent For Leather Confessions of A Heavy Metal Addict by Seb Hunter

I, Doll Life And Death With The New York Dolls by Arthur "Killer" Kane

Grunge Is Dead The Oral History Of Seattle Rock Music by Greg Prato

And Party Every Day: The Inside Story Of Casablanca Records

Finished it and want to read it again. Great book. Has anyone else read it??

It's on my list, I just havn't got around to getting it yet..

Took me forever and a day to find it but I have to say it was completely worth the wait. One of the most well written and in depth music biz biographical books I've read. One of the writers was a co-founder of Casablanca as well as Neil Bogart's cousin.

Widda - cheesy cop dramas are to be watched, not read LOL

"Schulz and Peanuts: A Biography" by David Michaelis -- the life story of Charles M. Schulz, creator of Charlie Brown and the "Peanuts" gang. "Peanuts" was my favorite comic strip as a kid and I've always admired Mr. Schulz, so this should be an interesting read.

If memory serves, his family was pretty pissed off about some of the revelations put forth in this book when it was published a few years back, too.
