Kingsmen: The Secret Service.

I love this movie, it's really fucking awesome.

Homage to old Bond movies with lots of modern twists.

Great cast. Hope they make another

We'll today's your lucky day, cause guess what?? They're making a second part!! :D

Might be a prequel I don't remember anymore but there's a new one coming

Prequel would be great.

I'd say there's a lot to explore this way.

"Dark Universe" (1993)

After a space shuttle crashes in the Florida Everglades, a recovery team encounters the toothy, slime emitting extra-terrestrial that caused the crash in the first place. Naturally, he's in the mood for a few human snacks after his long space journey.

This ultra-cheap "Alien"/"Predator" wanna-be was produced by schlock kingpin Fred Olen Ray and it basically has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Ignore unless you have an extremely high tolerance for bad movie pain.

Star Wars : Rogue One (2016) - excellent

Star Trek : Beyond (2016) - excellent

Passengers (2016) - very good sci-fi flick...if you enjoyed "The Martian" you should like this...

Mechanic Resurrection (2016) - pretty good action flick

Resident Evil : The Final Chapter (2016) - about the same level as the rest of the series, probably just as well it is the last one...

Hearts In Atlantis (2001) - the best movie that I can remember that is based on a Stephen King story...

It's been a cold, damp, clammy "stay inside and watch movies" kinda day around here...

"Casino Royale" (2006)

Daniel Craig's first turn as James Bond also serves as a "gritty reboot" for the veteran spy series. Bond has just been given his "double-0" designation, and on his first mission he romances the lovely Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) and takes on a terrorist financier known as "Le Chiffre" in a high stakes poker tournament. This is only the second time I've seen "C.R." so I still haven't quite decided where it ranks in the overall Bond pantheon, but it was a damn fine suspense thriller.

and then for something completely different...

"Star Crash" (1979)

Ace star pilot and all around space hottie Stella Starr is hired by the Emperor of the Universe to search for a missing galactic prince and stop the evil Zarth Arn (Boo! Hiss!) from taking over the galaxy with a new super weapon. Cheap special effects, terrible acting, and corny, WTF dialogue ensues.

This candy-colored, totally over the top Italian "Star Wars" knock off introduced me to the wild 'n' wacky world of European exploitation flicks when I was a wee lad and I've loved it ever since. Yes, this movie is crap, but it's totally awesome crap.

"Graduation Day" (1981)

A high school track star suddenly drops dead during a race, and soon a mysterious black-gloved slasher starts picking off the rest of her teammates. Could the killer be the dead girl's sister? Her heartbroken boyfriend? The creepy track coach? Will any of them survive till Graduation Day?

This was a pretty typical early '80s slasher flick, it's watchable but nothin' special. Sharp eyed viewers may notice a very young, pre-"Wheel of Fortune" Vanna White (!) in a bit part.

A couple of horror movies:

Lights Out - good if you like Asian horror style movies. Even scarier if you have kids.

Hush - One of those intruder movies but a bit different as the lead female is deaf.

Both recommended.

Trolls, again. Pretty dang funny and quite entertaining.

31, omfg. Pure drivel. Not remotely shocking or scary or anything. Shame on you Rob Zombie for this cash grab.

Inferno, meh. More Vkear and Present Danger than Davinvi Code.

Son In Law, introduced the kids to the Paul Shore vehicle and the kids didn't mind at all. Of course the ever luscious Tiffany Amber Theison is a crowd pleasure no doubt.

X-Men, my daughter is big into the superhero movies so we are revisiting the older ones too and this one is nice. Of course it has all been done again and again in future installments but this one is nice. With no Stan Lee cameo and no end of trailer teaser.

Nerve, teen social media dare flick with a Franco and Eric Roberts daughter. Not bad but certainly made for teens.

Hell Or High Water (2016) - quite good yarn about 2 brothers robbing banks to pay the mortgage...

The Revenant (2015) - put off watching this as it was an oscar winner and most oscar films are shit....anyway it turned out to be a good film...

Doctor Strange (2016) - decent superhero flick

Live By Night (2016) - very good gangster flick

I haven't watched anything for the last week because I came back from China with a Chinese flu.

I tried to get a vaccination before I left as well, but they weren't in yet :(

I've literally been sleeping for an hour every hour or two, so managed to squeeze in a few shows (Black Sails, Walking Dead, American Survivor - yes Geoff it's back on again)

So.... poor fuckin' me :( :( :( I just wanna be able to stay away for a few hours at a time and be able to taste what I'm eating and drinking....

RE: Rob Zombie....Man, who'd have thought he make some good movies and after 3 if them I was backing each new one to be great but since then he's been a terribly steep downward spiral....

My kids (adult kids as well) are all seeing Beauty And The Beast and apparently it's the best movie ever.

They are raving enough to make me actually want to see it....

"Black Mama, White Mama" (1973)

https://youtu.be/aUCC1QbH_kY

Pam Grier and Margaret Markov escape from a Filipino women's prison, with an army of cops, bounty hunters and even a killer pimp and his gang hot on their trail. Their getaway is complicated further by the fact that they hate each other's guts, and they're chained together.

So basically this is a Chicksploitation riff on the Tony Curtis/Sidney Poitier oldie "The Defiant Ones," with plenty of extra boobs, sleaze and ultra violence. Entertaining junk.

"Bat Woman" (aka "La mujer murcielago," 1968)

This seemed like appropriate viewing for April Fool's Day.

"Bat Woman" is a 1968 Mexican flick, obviously intended to cash in on the then-current Bat-Mania TV craze, about a butt-kickin' millionaire heroine and lady wrestler who fights gangsters and a mad scientist while wearing a Bat-cape, Bat-cowl and a bikini. In Spanish with English subtitles.

...good Lord, I really *will* watch just about any ol' piece of s**t that comes down the pike, won't I? Haha!

"It's So Easy And Other Lies" (2016)

This is a strange blend of concert film and documentary starring Duff McKagan of GnR fame, based on his autobiography of the same name. The bulk of the film is taken up by a "live reading" shot at Seattle's Moore Theater, where Duff reads excerpts from the book while a live band noodles muted versions of his greatest hits behind him. Some additional interviews with Slash, Matt Sorum, and various members of Duff's family pad out the run time. It wasn't terrible but it was kind of dry. Skip the flick and read the book (which was fantastic) instead.

    • Added Framing the Red over on the main site recently: Framing the Red discography reference list of music CDs. Heavy Harmonies Their website: Framing The Red Their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/framingtheredband Their YouTube channel: (23) Framing the Red Official Page - YouTube They have four releases, and all are quite good in my opinion. If I had to describe them, I'd say this is what Gunshine would sound like if they went in a more southern rock direction.  Here are some of my favorite tracks... Crossroads   Whiskey & Weed   Holy Water   Mississippi Hippie   Heroes   Bonnie & Clyde   Rockin' Into the Night (38 Special cover)   "Crossroads" and "Heroes" are probably my two faves.  *I will give a word of warning:  if you decide to purchase any of their discs, they are barebones releases with just the CD in a cardboard slipcase. I enjoy the music enough that that's not an issue for me though.  @lettard @KarpetRydOFunk @tts42572 @AlphaMale @Dead Planet @Mr.AOR @tobi is an animal I think all of you gentlemen should give these guys a listen and see what you think.
    • H.E.A.T - 1000 Miles Vega - Hands In The Air The Defiants - Stay Issa - River of Love I'm at work right now so that's all I know off the top of my head but I'll look through my library for more when I get a chance.
    • Maybe anything by the Darkness
    • Wig wam - hard to be a rock n roller
    • Saw these guys first time a couple of years ago, when they were 16-17 years old, they are absolutely awesome. They have been touring for a few years now, performing their own songs, yet haven't released anything, until now. I have tickets to see them this saturday, opening for Mercenary. First single and video:
    • I want to compile quite an extensive playlist of hard rock songs that has a key change in the end. Why? Cause I think it sounds awesome Some well known exambles are: Bon Jovi - Living On a Prayer Wig Wam - In My Dreams Danger Danger - Don't Blame it on Love H.E.A.T - Beg Beg Beg
    • My Japan copy showed up today. I was critical of the Part I album as that one just did very little for me.  Basically, I just didn't think the songs were all that catchy and/or memorable.  I played that album a handful of times trying to get into it and gave up rather quickly which was disappointing as I loved Wired.  Maybe I just had too high of expectations or something.  I know many liked that album but for me at least, that Megalomanium I album would be ranked toward the bottom of their discography. Well, after hearing this new one, I'm feeling the opposite....Here I feel like they nailed it and I'm digging this one after the first listen.  I basically couldn't wait to start it over and listen again. The first 5 songs just come out guns a blazing with catchy, hook filled songs.  Yeah, we've heard 4 of those songs as singles but I almost purposely haven't listened to those songs much so they'd still sound fresh when the album dropped.  Then the one song we hadn't heard, All I Want, is just another upbeat, catchy tune. The 2nd half though is where things probably get more interesting.  Songs like Dive Into You and To Say Goodbye are the kinds of varied balladish/mid-tempo type songs I've been wanting Eclipse to mix things up with and there's 2 of those songs here, both very well done IMO.  Then there's a couple heavier tunes like Divide & Conquer and One In A Million that sound like stuff that could've been on Bleed & Scream.  And then a couple other melodic rockers with Until the War is Over and Pieces. I also feel like this has some of the better lyrics that Eclipse has had in awhile.  I think a lot of their material recently has been just been sort of lighter subject matter, 3 minute "simplistic" romps.  I felt Part I had a lot of that which kind of contributed to it being less interesting.  Here though, it seems like some of these songs get a bit deeper and can feel more emotion in songs like Still My Hero, Dive Into You and To Say Goodbye for example.   Anyways, where Part I is among my least favorite Eclipse albums, I'd say my early impression of Part II is that it'll be among my favorite Eclipse albums.
    • New song 'Unbreakable'.
    • Solid hard rock album. Nothing really stood out to me, but it’s solid.
