Many thanks to all the music supervisors out there for the work , and to my fellow composers and collaborators ..Bring on 2024 !

I’m between all of this , I’m happy to announce that I’ve signed on with Frontiers Music srl to make a new solo album .

I started composing for this , this fall - with a release for next year .

‘24 is gonna be a marathon .

Hope he mixes the sound between his debut and The Defiants debut.

Will be checking it out but don't really see myself getting into it.

I don't know what it is, but for whatever reason I seem to often struggle getting into solo releases.  And especially when it's from artists that have been established in other bands/projects that I've enjoyed.  I think by nature I always compare the solo release to whatever the artist had done previously in other bands/projects and seems like most times it ends up feeling like a lesser version of that previous stuff to me.

Will check it out though....He's a talented dude.

True but there are some exceptions. One good example is Mercury's Down by Toby Hitchcock. Love that album more than any of the seven Pride Of Lions albums.

Yeah, but didn't he start off as a solo artist?

I can't think of a single artist whom I have preferred as a solo artist over their original band.

An interesting question. 

I can't think of too many off the top of my head, except for some mainstream artists, 

Lionel Ritchie, Peter Gabriel, Daryl Braithwaite, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins.

He may have...But I don't remember if he did lol.  I think the first I remember hearing of him was in Danger Danger.

Either way, I doubt whatever he does on this solo album will exceed his Danger Danger or Defiants stuff for me.

Interesting. I liked Commodores more than Lionel solo. He never did anything as cool as Brick House. Peter Gabriel in Genesis was amazing. Far better than his patchy solo stuff. Phil Collins was way too schmaltzy for me as a solo artist. At least his early Genesis albums were brilliant. Ok, you are right about Wacko Jacko and Daryl.

He did start off as a solo artist, and his debut solo album was better than anything he's done since, in spite of the fact that his time with Danger Danger and The Defiants was superb.

There are a few artists in our genre I prefer their solo career to their original band.

Michael Monroe (well not Faking it anyway)

Joan Jett

Lita Ford

Kane Roberts

Could not agree more. Their solo albums far exceed any BS or RB. I was never really a fan of BS aside a song or so and the RJD kill the OZZY ones.
