Controversial Hard Rock Opinions

Definitely controversial opinions.

I love Ozzy's voice, and Lemmy's voice, which sounds like he is gargling gravel, fits his music.

Metallica are magnificent musically, even if they are shitty blokes.

Correct about Metallica and Ozzy's voice, but I could never stand Lemmy's voice.

"Motorhead" would have been far more successful with a decent vocalist.

"Black Label Society" fell into the same trap. I love the music and at least in this case Zakk Wylde's vocals are tolerable, but they could have been so much better with better vocals.

Ozzy Osbourne should count himself very fucking lucky to get to where he got with a voice like his.

Lemmy must have been a great bloke, because as a singer he sucked.

Metallica had a few great songs, but other than that were just another shitty speed (or whatever) metal band who make boring music.

I actually completely agree with all those opinions. Ozzy's voice is beyond horrendous.

Dokken's best album is Shadowlife.

Is this what the thread is now?

Okay. well I guess Wildside's s/t album is far better than 'Under the Influence.'

Tony Harnells voice is annoying

I absolutely love the guy and his work but I wouldn't say that's the wildest statement ever. I imagine you play a TNT album to anyone outside of fans of our genre and they'd probably agree with you. Doesn't change my opinion of him one bit, though.

Here's an actual controversial statement: Harem Scarem's Voice of Reason is better than their debut.

The thread is called 'controversial hard rock opinions' - not 'stupid hard rock opinions.'

Warrant made come great music post Jani.

"Great" is definitely not the word I'd use. Warrant made some okay-at-very-best music post Jani, seems more accurate to me.

actually Ozzys voice is perfect for what he recorded.

listen to any cover of an Ozzy song and it doesn't work without his voice

It isn't what the thread was supposed to be. It was supposed to be opinions you might hold that would be controversial to many (but not without some merit), which is why I asked the question of the poster if he (sorry if misgendered) actually thought that about Dokken. Cause if not, then it is trolling, which is fine, and funny, but not in the "spirit" of the thread.

The R.Tist 4.Merly Known As .... is the best thing that Dangerous Toys ever did.....

It's actually an amazing album but Pissed is their best
Both of those albums are far superior to their first 2 though, and I dig their first 2 :)

I do prefer it to their other 3 releases but I do like those other releases too .... and you made me realize that I no longer own Pissed and need to track it down on cd....

I don't think U2 are overrated.
I am not a fan of them, but i get that so many were and why.
I do like Angel Of Harlem, but the rest I can take of leave.
They appealed to the masses though...

Take off Queen, Rush and maybe Bon Jovi (because of their first 4 albums)

Then add:

Metallica

The Sex Pistols

The Rolling Stones

Oasis

Green Day (And most of the other Pop Punk motherfuckers that damaged our hearing)

Nirvana

Korn (and most of the other Nu-Metal motherfuckers that damaged our hearing)

and

Poison

'Green Day' are in the 'Rock Hall' but no Priest'....

If you put together a single album with the best tracks from Use Your Illusion I & II, it is better than Appetite for Destruction.

They kinda did, but left off "You Could Be Mine" for some reason...

Yeah that version came out to stock in family friendly department stores, so it removed the rude words. It wasn't a version of the best tracks as it was just a "clean" version.

Left off 'You could be mine' and put both versions of 'Don't cry' on it. Someone's a genius.
