You just described not only Vega, but Eclipse, and Degreed as well for me; nothing wows me about any of them.

I agree on Degreed. Eclipse, on the other hand, like H.E.A.T, have "something" that tends to grab me more...

mmm. I'd probably agree that Glow & Cmon are the 2 weakest tracks (by no means bad), but dude really?

Had Enough might be my fav track on the album and 2Die4 is inspired. Brilliant imo.

You're right, I was definitely too harsh. Had Enough is a typical Vega anthem and 2Die4 is a great closer.

I don't think it will unseat any of their first 3 albums as my favorites, but it could be their strongest since Stereo Messiah.

well if this is a band going through the motions,  I wish more bands would just 'go through the motions' !! ;)

IMO this is an outstanding melodic rock album.

Great hooks, intelligent lyrics, love the solos, Nick sounds as good as ever and finally they have nailed the production.

I'd say their best so far or at least on a par with Stereo Messiah.

I don't think Vega or Degreed or Work of Art are in the same league as H.e.a.t or Crazy Lixx or Eclipse.

The latter 3 bands are current A-tier artists in our genre.

To say Vega are as good as H.e.a.t. is like saying Britny Fox were as good as Cinderella. Yeah, nah. 😈

I like those bands too, but the last Eclipse album was pretty weak imo and the last Crazy Lixx only really had about 4 great songs.

see what eclipse is like soon but the singles I've found pretty boring

I didnt say Vega were as good as HEAT. They weren't when Erik was there but he's gone now.

Vega are an amazing band live - I've seen them about 10 times, and there isn't much between them & HEAT. Erik was obviously an amazing front man. But Nick is also very good and certainly better than Martensson & Rexon who are v one dimensional imo

I find Vega very one dimensional, every albums sounds like the last. Not saying that is a bad thing because I like consistency in my favorite bands but Vega is just "ok" to me. To each their own!

Agree.

Some songs shouldn't be covered and this would be one of those.

This is a hit song done by a band with a very distinct and recognizable sound.  Not a good cover candidate IMO.

    • Looks like complete bullshit. Look at all of the videos from this channel: https://www.youtube.com/@infogaming786/videos
    • Is this true, I don't see much about it anywhere else?
    • Well they just posted this on Facebook, so I would certainly hope this is a sign a new album is incoming
    • Sounds pretty good all round...just preordered..released 22nd Nov
    • Luckily I will hopefully be front row so wont make a mess on anyones back.
    • If we never hear from you again, at least we'll know you went out with a smile on your face.
    • Wow! Thank you so much mate. That's a massive compliment. That was the first one I wrote and I think it's my favourite so far. Like Geoff, I'm tending to draw on past personal experiences for my lyrics and that one means a lot. I was thrilled when the AI came up with that interpretation.
    • Well this is some excellent news. Going to see Sophie Lloyds first headline show on 17th Oct in London (tiny club called The Underworld) and it has just been announced that the support act will be Chez Kane... can I handle two fit birds peforming on stage or will my heart give out before the show is over?
    • I don't rate or grade albums with any kinda numbering system or percentage. All I do is think which were the albums I enjoyed most, which generally means got played the most (I mean you don't play the worst albums over and over again for months), with memorable songs. Then when it comes to what order they go in. Once again, I just go with what I feel got the most airplay for me over the course of time. Obviously an album released in Jan is gonna potentially have more play time than one released in November, but It's down to longevity as well. If I play an album solidly for a month then move on, it's probably gonna be top 10, but if other albums are still being played regularly 3 or more months after release, those are gonna rank higher. I mean this year Judas Priest was a fairly early release in the year, but I am still playing it now, although  not as often. Then an album like Mick Mars which I loved, but has kinda fallen off my radar in the last six months, will rank a lot lower. I try to not go for recency bias as well even though I have been listening to one album in my top 10 for only a week, but it was such an insantaneous album I know its gonna get heavy play time for the next few months.
