Not sure if this has been covered on here yet as I cannot seem to find a topic for it, but looks like Frontiers has signed another "Supergroup" of sorts.

Their debut single/video debuts on Dec 10th.

Just got a message about this, looks interesting...we'll hear Tuesday I guess....

From Blabbermouth.net

Bassist Jeff Pilson (DOKKEN, FOREIGNER), vocalist Robin McAuley (MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP, SURVIVOR), guitarist Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE) and drummer Matt Starr (MR. BIG, ACE FREHLEY) have joined forces in a new project called
BLACK SWAN. The outfit's debut single and video will be released on Tuesday, December 10. A full-length album will follow in early 2020 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Speaking to Rock Titan, Starr stated about how his involvement in the project came about: "[In early 2019], Jeff reached out and said, 'hey, I've got this new thing with Robin McAuley and Reb Beach, and I wanted to see if you'd be interested in talking about playing drums.' And I said, 'Yeah. Of course.' I know all those guys — [they're] super talented. They have a record, and the record was done and they needed to put some drums on it. So they had asked me, and I checked out the music and it was very cool. I said yes, and then, three days later, I was up at Jeff's place and we were cutting drum tracks. We spent four days, three and a half days recording 12 songs. And it's awesome… And it's really, really, really good. Everybody says that about whatever they're working on, but we were all, like, 'Holy shit! This is awesome.'"

The drummer, who has played with a number of high-profile acts in the past, said that he is an official member of the new project, "which is great. And I think that's kind of the first time for me, because I'm always coming into situations where I'm the hired guy," he said. "And look, there's advantages to that too — you negotiate your rate and then the tour can do whatever it does and you don't have to worry about it. So there's pluses and minuses to all that. But, yeah, I'm a member of this band. And I think everybody's pretty excited to get out there and play. Just how and when we can do that, we'll have to wait and see."

Back in February, Pilson officially confirmed the project's existence, saying that the album was "turning out amazing. Wait until you hear everybody's playing and singing. It's beyond — way beyond," he promised.

Pilson — one-fourth of the classic DOKKEN lineup — joined FOREIGNER in 2004. In recent years, he has also produced albums by LAST IN LINE, KILL DEVIL HILL, STARSHIP and WARRANT.

Beach — who was among the artists recently interviewed for Guitar World's February 2019 cover story on the "last days of hair metal" — is an original member of WINGER. He joined WHITESNAKE in 2002. Notably, he also performed on one DOKKEN album alongside Pilson, 1999's "Erase The Slate".

Irish vocalist McAuley is best-known for fronting MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP from 1986 to 1993. Alongside Graham Bonnet and Gary Barden, he has toured with MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST in recent years and also appears on "Resurrection", the group's 2018 album.

Starr — who joined Ace Frehley's band in 2012 and continues to perform with him periodically — began touring with MR. BIG in 2014 and appears on the group's latest album, 2017's "Defying Gravity". He has also toured and/or recorded with HOOKERS & BLOW, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES and BURNING RAIN, among others.

I get the opposition to these seemingly-thrown-together groups but I'm up for anything new from Robin McAuley.

What does it matter if its a one off or an ongoing project as long as its good?

I mean, how many 80s bands only made it to one album and then vanished? Loads, but we still love em.

This could be really cool. I'm certainly looking forward to hearing what they come up with.

And please, Matt Starr. Don't let anyone tell you that your facial hair is absolutely, completely fucking ridiculous. It's... um, awesome.

Pilson doesn't have much time for a full Dokken reunion because of the Foreigner thing, but has time for this? Another "supergroup" that'll have a revolving door lineup like The Dead Daisies and a few others?

and... WTF is going on with McCauley's "sharpied in" eyebrows?

Excited to hear this!  Nice line-up and cool cover art.  I know some people get a bit over the super group/projects and I get that to an extent, but for me I don't care as long as the music is good.

    • New single 'April Rain' from the album 'Naked Soul'. And ADV ruining everything... From Frontiers: Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce T3nors, a very special new AOR project. Two of America’s greatest AOR singers, Robbie LaBlanc and Toby Hitchock join forces with one of Sweden’s finest AOR singers, Kent Hilli to form the vocali trio of T3nors. These absolutely outstanding vocalists have come together on one glorious melodic rock album, "Naked Soul", which will be released on February 10, 2023.  The story behind this record actually dates back quite a few years as Frontiers has been wanting to do a “three tenors” type of record for quite some time. Given the extremely high level of AOR vocal talent that the label has worked with in the past and continues to work with today, the idea never really lost steam. The issue was always finding the right pairing of three singers and the timing for the individual singers to have holes in their schedule to record. With the onset of the global pandemic in 2020, everyone's availability, for better or for worse, became more flexible and the idea started to become reality.  Pairing Robbie, Toby, and Kent together seemed an ideal team up and all three were enthusiastic about the idea when approached to participate. The rest, as they say, is history. Kent Hilli is the newest of the three singers on the scene, but has quickly made an impact with the albums he has released with his main band Perfect Plan, as well as being the new frontman for GIANT, solo material, and guest appearances with Restless Spirits, the melodic rock project from Lords Of Black guitarist Tony Hernando.  Toby Hitchcock is an American singer known for his solo albums as well as his work with the esteemed melodic rock genius Jim Peterik in Pride Of Lions. Robbie LaBlanc is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter known for his work with Blanc Faces, Find Me, a project with The Murder Of My Sweet drummer/producer Daniel Flores, East Temple Avenue, and more.  If you are a lover of all things AOR, then T3nors' debut album, "Naked Soul" is a can't miss release!   Tracklisting:1. • Very sad news. She had a lovely voice. I absolutely love both 'Rumours' and 'Tango In The Night'...both part of my musical journey.
    • Superb album...one of the best pure Westcoast releases this year. Love the Chaka Khan cover of 'Ain't Nobody' as well. Great stuff
    • Not perfect by a long way, but the album a hell of a lot better than some in the other stuff Frontiers put out on a regular basis
    • Very nice...Move out of the way ADV, Dennis is back .....very solid band with The Greatest Wonder especially being absolutely fabulous. Looking forward to this one a lot
    • I I know I'm way behind the 8 ball here as I had never paid attention to these guys either but just clicked on the Daylight video myself and dug it.  Found my way to this thread and digging some of these other tunes too.  I think the different kind of sound is appealing to me a bit at the moment.  It's almost like if Axel Rose were fronting Tora Tora or something.   Gonna have to give the album a listen to see if it sticks but initially Daylight, Wall Said To Call and Feel Alright are sounding interesting to me from just watching the videos above.  Will have to check the album out.
    • I used to love this band so much on their first 3 albums. Who could have guessed it would end up with this complete shit show. Bands should NOT air their dirty laundry in public
    • Def Leppard/ Magnum - St. Albans City Hall  April 5th 1980 Saxon - St. Albans City Hall  May 2nd 1980
    • Just clicked on this to check it out as I had never heard of this band....Not too bad!  Kinda reminds me musically of early Tora Tora but I hear some Axel Rose in those vocals. I might have to check this album out to see if anything else grabs me on it.
    • Some choice picks there. That VHS Collection album I only heard it a month or so ago, but it's really good.
