I like American Blitzkreig as well as the recent Derek Davis solo CD, both of which most here would hate I'd guess, so I'm thinking I'm one of the lucky ones who will love the new BAD album regardless.

Cool album cover. I'd love to hear some samples from this. It'd make my year if this was a really good album.

Called it early, and was backed up with the new Steelheart releases....

People are goona be hating on this new BAD, because even with American Blitzkrieg as their last album, and then the widely 'ignored because it's different' Derek Davis solo disc, they are still going to expect the same style of music from over 20 years ago.

I like this one on first listen.

Not hating on it all, just speaking the truth. It needs a better chorus.

I'm sure there will be better on the album.

Sorry, that comment wasn't directed at you.

More at the overwhelming majority of people who will hear a couple of songs, decide that it isn't anything like S/T or Nothing Sacred and drop it .

And that's cool, just that maybe there will be some unreal expectations.

Compare to a band like Hardcore Superstar and the criticism is (more) warranted. They were progressing nicely and decided on a weird back to roots/weird ass pop-punk basic music.

And if that's the music they want to make, then fair enough, but I'll go in to the next album by them not expecting much. Hope I'm surprised :)

Backed on HS . They need to get back to Dreamin in a Casket sound.

Personally I'm glad Babylon AD are rocking hard. Sure the album will be cool

New song is OK but they can -- and should -- do better.

Beats that new Quiet Riot shit anyway

Totally into this one. I can hear their roots in it. As stated; chorus could be slicker but as is I am really excited to hear the rest of this album. Their first two cds were so ridiculously good, comparing Revelation Highway to them is really unfair to begin with. I think it is a good representation of what they should sound like in 2017.

And since this is a BAD thread, I will take this opportunity to once again shamelessly sing the praises of their Persuaders cd. What a monster disc!! Not as crunchy as BAD but killer hooks abound.

I agree with Shamus in that you can definitely hear "their roots." The song isn't amazing, but it's also not half bad. Don't love it, don't mind it at all.

http://sleazeroxx.com/ex-babylon-a-d-guitarist-danny-de-la-rosa-speaks-about-leaving-the-band-and-upcoming-solo-album/

With respect to why De La Rosa ended up leaving Babylon A.D. after 28 years with the band, he advised: “Derek is the king of Babylon A.D. [laughs] and he is a doer. He has a studio at his home so it’s pretty easy for him to record what and when he wants. After all my years of playing, I could never really grasp being good enough to engineer a quality recording. I don’t want to put out a garage studio recording that sounds like a demo. I want my music to sound the best it can with a producer’s input. When I’m writing songs, I have no idea if it’s perceived as good or not. When people heard it — professional people — they said it was worth re-recording in a quality studio, so I am. I now have myself to rely on and I don’t have to compromise with anyone else except for the producer whom I will give total trust as he is investing his time to record me. [i have] full musical expression with the freedom to do what I want. If 100 people respond they like some of my music, I will be a happy man. Add a few zeros and I would be ecstatic!

I left Babylon A.D. for several reasons. Basically, the band had an underlying urge to be The Persuaders again — their former name before I joined — and I didn’t want to be in the way of that. I am happy for them to go full circle. I knew it was just a matter of time. They are living their dream and more power to them but that dream is not mine. I also had a position that if we were to record a new album, I preferred a third party to choose songs, engineer and produce. That wasn’t going to happen in this regimen… [laughs] but Derek was very supportive of me recording and releasing my music. I wouldn’t write off playing a show in the future with Babylon A.D. playing those classic songs. I loved playing those songs with Ron [Freschi]. We always got along great for a dual lead situation.

I didn’t make it easy for them when shows and rehearsals came up because more importantly I am a father of three teenage boys and they need me at this point in their lives and I need them. I couldn’t go anywhere at a drop of a hat and frankly, I feel I experienced everything the band had to offer. The main thing I will miss is the Monster Of Rock Cruises. It is so much fun to meet the fans and great musicians and see bands I like and just the whole positive vibe made possible by the awesome staff. I would like to thank all the promoters that treated me so well and the fans that made the effort to come talk to me sharing their memories of our music and how it affected them. I went on the road as a musician out of high school; auditioned for KISS when Ace [Frehley] left; hung out with Clive Davis, Tom Werman, RoboCop and Sam Kinison; jammed with some great musicians; and, now I can continue to express myself musically without the “burden” of being a rich and famous person that can’t go out anywhere [laughs]. I have the best of both worlds. What a great thing to be musically active at this point in my life.”

Yeah, you'd be a hard man to begrudge him for such a decision after reading that. The bit in bold is indeed interesting. I really hope that shines through in the new album.

I am sad that he won't be a part of it for sure, but doubt I've ever seen more valid, logical and sensible reasons as to why. Good luck to him and I hope it's not the last we hear of him.

I bolded that part just for you. I know you were a big fan of the Persauders disc. I was too.

    • If you go to the "edit song details" menu, you can edit the displayed lyrics ( handy to get rid of ugly brackets and prompts ), change the song title and change the thumbnail image.  You'd be able to do that to your tracks as well I think. Create a playlist for each of your albums and use your album covers as the images for your playlists.  They present pretty well on suno. The below link is for my playlist.    As for the vocals, I don't mind having female vocals on some of my tracks. As you mentioned earlier, I have absolutely no musical expertise whatsoever when it comes to instruments and I cannot sing for shit. I sort of think that it's like someone writing a song and then giving it to an Artist, Male or female, to interpret it musically. Think Desmond Child writing for Bon Jovi and also Joan Jett, or great songs by Jeff Paris being recorded by Vixen. Am I comparing myself to Desmond Child and Jeff Paris when it comes to songwriting talent? Hmmm... yes,  I think so.       https://suno.com/playlist/1581a017-9d55-4b0f-8ea8-555aa5b11d00
    • Good safe and well with the footage I've seen on news here in Australia it must be scary.
    • I can tell you that at the very least, there are people from FEMA working with some of the local businesses (my employer included) as far as looking at what aid is available to them. On the flip side, I've heard that one of the FEMA directors "got an attitude" with a few folks in the Asheville area and got popped in the mouth. I can't confirm that, just a story that's making the rounds.
    • Glad you and yours are ok Mike. There's been a lot of buzz on social media about the LACK of response from FEMA and the current admin. Have you seen or heard anything on the ground one way or the other?
    • Not sure if anyone has noticed my absence over the last 10 days, but I've only been able to sign in a few times from work over the course of that period. As some of you may know, on Friday, September 27th, Hurricane Helene slammed into western North Carolina and absolutely devastated this area, leveling entire towns in its path. In my 52 years on this planet, I've never seen destruction like this with my own eyes.  While my home and property were spared any major problems, our road looked like a damn warzone with all the trees and powerlines down. We were literally trapped like rats in a maze for several days, as even though some good samaritans were able to cut their way through the downed trees so we could leave the neighborhood, all roads leading out of this area were closed off, either due to trees and lines down, or due to flooding.   I was out of work for six days, as my employer had no power. We had no power here at the house for 9 days, with it being restored late yesterday evening. We lost several hundred dollars worth of food that thawed out from our fridge and freezers. No hot water after day one, no cell signal for several days, no stores or restaurants open for several days... If it sounds like I'm complaining, I assure you, I am not. I am grateful. My family and friends are blessed, as we're all pretty much back up and running now. While there was some severe flooding here in Morganton just around two miles from my house, overall, it was MILD around here. Once you drive a mere 20 miles up the road to a little town called Old Fort in McDowell County, and everything west from there, it is exponentially worse. Huge chunks of Asheville under water, Chimney Rock literally wiped off the map, Spruce Pine damn near wiped away, small towns with no communication to the outside world with people struggling. It is BAD here in Western NC, and it's going to take a LONG time for things to get back to some semblance of normal for ALOT of people.  I just felt the need to post and let anyone who might have noticed I was MIA that I am fine, but that alot of good people are not. Please keep western North Carolina in your thoughts and prayers, and if that's not your thing, drink one for all of us tonight. Here are a few links that I've shared over the last week on FB that show the devastation around here... https://fb.watch/v331QebVRJ/ https://www.facebook.com/100067755911039/videos/1069274148086583/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/ER9b6tv8oj84QuWb/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/9MpnKZUAx4m5oy3y/ All these aerial shots are from around 1-2 miles from my house: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/vux5WpAqeMDcNMhS/ https://fb.watch/v33x13dnTf/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/V6RPz7HiiMhrBsfn/ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/vvEuMCm7We6fitZ9/ https://www.facebook.com/share/v/jE1utxkfNLeKEM9S/ Park Rangers in Chimney Rock managed to get the flag raised up again...
    • I've got a solid top 3 at this point.  At least for me, these 3 are heads and shoulders above everything else: 1.  Kissin' Dynamite 2.  Eclipse 3.  Maverick After that, it's really a hodgepodge of stuff.  New Roses, Daughtry (Only an EP but digging it), Collateral, Sebastian Bach, Judas Priest, Nestor, End Machine.  I'd probably put them in about that order at the moment.
    • So I was just looking at the new releases I bought from this year, and while there are some new additions to expand from the top 5 I posted earlier this year, to a top 10, all the stuff in my original list are still in the top 10 (although obvs with three months to go, the ones near the bottom could be usurped). Anyway as of now, this is where I am at: 1.       Judas Priest 2.       The Warning 3.       Nek! 4.       Rolling Quartz 5.       Band Maid 6.       April Art 7.       Lipz 8.       Sebastian Bach 9.       Mick Mars 10.   Durbin
    • I to used see them a few times at the Middle as well. With local chapter of the Hells Angels at front bar. Not much a Screaming Jets fan, so I didn't watch them with Gleeson' The guy in front now, was their recent drummer before they put out in front Those first five albums are classics
