Really starting to scrape the barrel here. The Wallflowers would be my pick, as that album has been with me since it's release. I still catch myself singing "Josephine" every now and then. Thunder released one of their best this year, and Steelheart's (Or should I say Mike's) album often goes under-appreciated.

Probably one of the horrible years in hard rock and AOR and maybe the metal genre will shine, not sure though, maybe IMPELLITTERI and STRATOVARIUS will shine, GOTTHARD and TEN is pretty good as I recall. Still a long way to this year so I'll come back again later

Jumping to conclusions here, mate! :lol: Actually, I used to hold the same opinion back then, when I thought I knew everything 'bout heavy metal (I was still a newbie in AOR/Melodic Rock). Not anymore in the digital age! Tones of musical airwaves waiting patiently unearthed to reach these ears! :headbanger:

I think I said it in another of these mid 90's threads, and I agree they were lean years, but you guys are kidding yourself if you think there was nothing good still going on in these years. My list above in this thread isn't amazing, but compared to stuff in that list, it's like a lit of gold nuggets.

I'm not saying that there wasn't some good music being released in the 90s. Sadly, opportunity and funds were both scarce at the time (not that I'm rolling in cash now, y'understand), so I missed a LOT of albums (some of which now cost a small bloody fortune!) Out of my list, there are probably ten (or even less) albums that get played regularly - the rest are in there to make up the numbers simply because I'm familiar with them.

Well after the list of 1989, that was very hard to do ( I forgotten some masterpieces, there were so many great albums) 1996 is so much easier.

That time I was so dissapointed by hard rock bands who try to sound alternative or heavier (warrant,skid row,pk69,motley).

So I start to listen to power metal band, nowadays this genre now don 't do much for me ( I have not yet listen to the whole new Helloween cd,)

On youtube I left a song that came out in 94 instead of 96.

I did not realize there were two versions of Doug Aldrich - Highcentered.
