Van Hagar on all accounts.

I agree just because I never liked his solo stuff but also in saying that, Van Halen III was a piece of crap IMO

5150 just as 'Eat 'Em And Smile' was also excellent

Skyscraper - Diamond Dave's finest solo moment

F.U.C.K - Great disc

Balance - Nice disc, 'Your Filthy Little Mouth' was utter shite.

DLR Band - Both were pretty rubbish being truthful, but Dave's solo disc was less painful

Ok I went with 5150, Skyscraper, F.U.C.K, Balance and the DLR Band.....

Who voted for Van Halen III??? God that album SUCKED!!!

That was me because Gary Cerone still has more talent than that no talent ass clown DLR.

:rofl2:

Don't laugh. That's the truth. And I liked VH III up until Eddie decided he had a voice and wanted to sing 'How Many Say I?'. That was a piece of shit. Gary Cherone is still one of my favourites, if not the favourite. Sadaudes de Rock is an absolute killer album. My favourite of '08.

It went like this for me....

5150 Great album! Still spin this one quite a bit.

Skyscraper~ My only DLR vote. For some reason I really dig this album and its better than OU812.

FUCK- Right Now is a stellar tune.

Balance~ Some very good tunes on this underrated VH album.

VHIII~ Not a good album at all. So what does that say about the DLR debacle?

If DLR is a rectal irritation, then EVH is a rectal irritation with steel-wool Speedos. And so...

Eat 'Em - Vai is untouchable on two-thirds of this disc and great on the rest

Skyscraper - A bit of a let down after the debut, but still cool

Ain't Enough - Jason Becker's poignantly magnificent last album

Balance - Okay, so this one's not intolerable, unlike Filthy Little Mouth (yeesh)

VH III - The CD is crap, but DLR Band is crap with peanuts

5150 - Tough call but it just beat out Dave for me.

OU812 - A close call again, liked both of them.

F.U.C.K - I really enjoyed this one.

Balance - No contest here.

DLR Band - Didn't care for either so I figured I'd at least give Dave one vote.

I feel dirty voting for Van Halen, as I can't stand the band, but they pulled off a clean sweep. It still feels so wrong to have voted for them though. I'm shuddering right now at what I just did, kind of like that time when my creepy uncle took me on a pony ride.

Shower time. Which is going to be kind of awkward, seeing as I'm at work right now...

Pretty easy for the most part this one.

I like Eat em and smile, but 5150 was a brilliant follow up to 1984.

No way I could vote for anything other than 5150 on this!

Skyscraper pisses all over OU812.

This one was a toughie as I like both, but I think A lil aint enough is slightly better of the two.

Balance had some good moments, and Filthy had hardly any, so Balance wins this hands down.

I'm sorry, but how could anyone vote for the turd that is VH III?

DLR was a true return to form for Dave (which he quickly lost again with its follow up Diamond Dave), and recaptured a lot of the early VH sound.

VH III sounded nothing like VH or Extreme for that matter, and generally just out and out sucked.

This is tough coz Eat em and 5150 were the best done by both in the CDs listed. Have to tip in favour or 5150 and Van Halen overall.

    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
