Joe Bonamassa killed it on Wednesday. I was fourth row from the back, on the upper bowl, but it still sounded excellent. Any Vancouverites will know what I mean, when I say the Orpheum is an incredible venue.

Im all over that Electric' tour...any show thats close im hitting it.

Probably my all time favorite album. Can't wait to hear Outlaw, King Contrary Man, Bad Fun etc. in a live setting. Waiting for them to announce who the touring rhythm guitarist is now that Mike Dimkich is in Bad Religion.

 

Doing these two shows but greedily await the announcement of a Canadian leg, too.

So we saw Warrant & Skid Row last friday at the wild horse pass casino.

yes they played mostly old stuff, but when neither of them has the original singer, and youre having a hell of a time even identifying the original band members because they look so different, its almost depressing.

The last time i saw a warrant was 1992, and 1989 for skid row, so i'd think i'd like to just remember them the way they were.

i just kept thinking ' i hope that 250lb joey allen doesnt get on anyone's shoulders during the solo'

So how did they sound though Mike? I would rather bands have their original singers but if they still put on a good show, I can't fault them for moving on. I don't think Baz will ever reconcile with SR and Jani is dead... so impossible to reunite.

i hadnt been to a non-symphonic concert since '99 (and that was outdoors). this was a pretty small place with decent accoustics so it wasnt all so loud to muddle everything.

i think maybe only 20-25 rows of seats between the stage and the back isle where the bars were.

 

i think the most alarming thing is seeing your high school heroes aging. (2nd was the 55 year old dude in the audience with a jack-russel/great white mullet and his peggy bundy wife)

the bands KNOW youre only there to hear their old stuff, and that their new music isnt going to grab you emotionally and connect like it did when you're a teenager. our minds dont work that way.
