You thinking 'Brand New Breed?' If so, you'd be mistaken. Keeping in mind I started rating albums in 2011, I've already got 2011-2015 sorted, so everything I rate is pre-2011. Sorry to burst your bubble.

 

Just a little shout out to two albums over the past two days which I thought would ruin my days, which both actually turned out to be pretty pleasing. Yesterday, I was really surprised by the strength of Panik's 'A Page Torn,' and then today I was dreading that PAX CD, and it's hardly a world beater, but it's a nice surprise (I'd completely forgotten it). It's almost got that grungy element, but then keeps ripping into these good, strong hooky choruses. I enjoyed both albums.

Pretty trying day at times, but the first 3 ARP albums are all good fun. Where it really started to get stale is when Gioeli joined the band and ARP started to write all the music and all the lyrics... and every song is about the magic sorcery of the dungeons. Horrible stuff. I checked a few times to see if I was listening to a new CD or if I'd left the previous one in, because I kept hearing the same lyrics. Seriously did that at least 3 times today.

 

The revolving door of vocalists early on actually kept things interesting because they mostly wrote all the lyrics while ARP did the music.
