Another Monster from the good old days.

I first heard of these guys when I was reading a letter in the mail section of Metal Edge. It was on the titles list of an Aussie mail order company at time called "Raggamuffin Records". I knew nothing about them, but the letter was positive and I loved the name.

The day it arrived there were a few mates at my place, all into this music.

I'll never forget the look of disbelief and envy when "Play Dirty" started. It was beautiful.

They may not be all killers on this album, but the ones that are killers are Fucking beasts!

"Play Dirty", "Bad Reputation" and "Come Play the Game" are MHR perfection.

The follow up album isn't too shabby either, but not in the same League as this.

Now you’re talking.. killer album! Whilst some are better than others, not one bad track on this for me. Ranging from hair metal hits Play Dirty, Skin On Skin to more melodic tunes tunes like Find Another Way, Come Play The Game.
First song I ever heard was Daddy’s Little Girl.. never looked back.

Saw them live in 2013 at Firefest, they kicked ass just like it was 1990. Great band!

I’ve got the Rock Candy remaster of this from 2010 - sounds excellent.
These 3 bonus tracks are included -

Just Another Fire is the third bonus track and was also included in the 1998 Some Other Place Some Other Time album -

Just posted yesterday in the "what random song popped into your head" thread that "Find Another Way" was in my head.

Well there you go. I didn't notice that.

Great minds...

Brilliant album, remember seeing the "Skin To Skin" video on Headbangers Ball and just having to find this, got it a few weeks later from S.T in Dudley.

Another that I still listen to on an at least weekly basis

It is actually one of those albums where there wasn't really a bad tune... it's just the best songs were so amazing that some of the others just didn't quite stack up, even if they were still killer themselves. 'Come play the game' is basically the blueprint for melodic hard rock perfection. A completely flawless tune. Great album. Killer sound/production too.

This album always brings me back to my first trip to Bali.
They were playing it loud in the music shops the whole time i was there, until I bought the tape.
I found a whole bunch of new bands on that trip :)

I bought both albums about 2 years ago and to be honest, nothing stood out as amazing on either album for me.

A couple of good tracks on the debut, but even they did not wow me.

I get this sometimes,

When a band releases an album, and it's new and exciting and I miss it and then go back after hearing new albums by the band.
Never been able to get into debut albums by White Lion, LA Guns, and a bunch of other bands.
Sometimes people post band here who I've never heard of and it's just 80's stuff, nothing too stand-outy, but if I'd heard it when released, maybe I'd have frothed it in that time...

Yeah, for sure. The memory factor is a big part of it.

Having said that, I still think I'd love all my old school favourites if I'd only heard them recently.

Yeah, me too. I do definitely get the sentiment factor, but at the end of the day a great album is a great album.

For the record, I don't like White Lion or LA Guns debuts either. Both solid hard rock, but didn't do much at all for me.

Well of course, I'm always inspired by your posts.

"You are the wind beneath my wings".

Although, if you're going to pay tribute to an album, you should perhaps post more than four tracks. It was however, a great foundation for me to build on.

It's like if you give a paint brush to a monkey. He'll paint some random shit, but then give the brush to me and I'll be able to create something a bit more acceptable.

Good effort though.    ;)

This is another one of my favorites. I thought these guys should have been huge. They had the music but I think they just got a deal to late. I heard rumors of them making more music but I don’t know if it’s true or not.
