Interesting sound. Not sure how sold I am based on those samples... good quality recording, though. Well produced.

Yeah I'll pick this one up as I do all Eonian releases. The samples sound okay, nothing too spectacular though. Interesting that this is Henry Lee Summers band - I think I have a few of his solo albums around here somewhere.

Most Eonian releases get tandemed up with another. I wonder what could possibly be the second band if there even is one??? I definately will be getting this one though.

Bobby Sisk was a excellent singer/fronter...used to sing in Wanted' in Indy (great live' band) In addition to 'Youngblood' id also highly recommend picking up 'Too Hot To Handle' (also on Eonian) as well.

I am really, really proud of this release! I personally think it is the BEST sounding hard rock / melodic metal recording over 20 years of age ever released for the first time. "No Retreat" is NOT a collection of studio demos. It had an enormous budget for an independent recording in 1989 and had some very talented people behind the controls. I suppose you will have to hear it for yourself from the CD rather than from an MP3 on your computer, but what you hear above is only meant to be a teaser. Btw, thanks Dan for posting this! Dan has heard the entire album and will be posting some additional mp3's sometime down the road.

Anyway, I thought I would answer a couple of the questions from the posts above:

1. Why European bonus tracks? Answer: Because we are trying to increase sales. This is not uncommon at all for a label to do this. Despite strong support from European media, online retailers are saying our sales have not been all that good. Eonian is printing a limited quantity of CD's with three bonus tracks. Once they are gone, they will not be reprinted. The three tracks are well worth it.

2. A second title to be released at same time as Youngblood? Answer: No. This is it. I plan to devote my attention to promoting this CD and hope for strong sales.

3. Too many people in this band? Answer: Seriously?

Anyway, I think this will be one of the best CD's you buy all year. Dan has heard the whole thing and think he would agree that the production is killer and that this sounds nothing like a recording from 23 years ago.

We are also about to announce a big, big release ...so stay tuned. It will include a few of the biggest names of the late 80's and early 90's.

Thanks for tuning into Eonian titles.

Can't wait to here about the new bands that are to be released in the future. I hope one of them is Ana Black. They used to cross the border and play in town back in the day.

Steve "I personally think it is the BEST sounding hard rock / melodic metal recording over 20 years of age ever released for the first time." Wow , guess you don't listen to some of my releases brutha.

On another note , I'd like to thank Steve personally for continuing to release classic albums. I can't do it all and there's only a few of us left. It's a tough business , and making money on any level is difficult. Wait til u got 300-400 bands to pay out every quarter bro!

The "re-issue" market isn't an easy one , which is why I'm very picky about which titles get a short run and which titles get a large pressing.

Continued success Steve , it's a labor of love man , sometimes you have to see it as that.

    • So finally got around to listening to the album (still waiting for CD to arrive but at least a digital version came with the order). This is defo the best album he has released since leaving Skid Row, and is better than anything released by his former band (even the Erik fronted album). I liked his solo stuff, but he was always trying too hard to be modern and heavy, so there were very few actual stand out tracks. On here though it really is more of a throwback. While not quite classic Skid Row, it is probably as close as we will ever get, kinda sitting somewhere sonically between the first two albums. The only downside for me is the fact there is only one ballad and it doesn't even come close to the two that featured on Angel Down. Seb took a long break between this and his previous album, and I think in that time he has taken time to reevaluate what he wants to do musically. As stated earlier, even the album cover is a throwback with it being a painting his father started decades ago. Hopefully any future releases will stick to this style, and not return to the style used on his last few albums.
    • Not sure, but sounds like christian lyrics to me. And could'nt find it on HH yet. 25 years ago I would have loved this, today I'm atheist and do not listen anymore to such... explicit lyrics.
    • Spider of Destiny-Frank Zappa
    • I got it for free when I bought the Dirty Americans album. It's a cool little sampler.
    • Ha, I remember them. Good stuff.
    • Better than I expected, honestly, as GUN was never my thing.
    • Agree. Have been a fan of Halestorm and Lzzy....she's fantastic. That said though, this Skid Row thing just feels "off" to me.  She sounds fine but I think it's simply that hearing a female voice do the songs just doesn't seem right after listening to the originals for so long.   I much prefer hearing Lzzy in Halestorm.  I'd rather see her concentrate on that and also concentrate on doing new music that's more in line with their first 2 albums!
    • From memory it was recorded after the original pledge release of Beautiful things and was added as a bonus song when it became available to the general public.
