Famous People from your High School

I was talking to someone the other day about high school. And he said he had went to school with a guy named Allan Bristow who played professional basketball for awhile.

The only famous alumni from my school I could think of was Greg Hawkes (keyboards for The CARS). I took a lot of art classes and the teacher was always using some of Greg's work to show as examples. Just by seeing this art that was done by Hawkes you could tell just how creative he was.

-- Did any famous people attend your high school..?

You can actually go to Wikipedia and type in your school and it will list them for you.

Well, famous for some, not so for others ... at Pretoria Boys High School in South Africa I went to school with

Roy Wegerle - ex-captain of the US soccer team

I think he was about 2 years below me.

Freedom High School in Morganton, NC

Let's see, Leon Johnson of UNC Tarheel and NY Jets fame, Paige Summers (Penthouse Centerfold), and Neil, Jon, and Eric from Copperhead. The other two members may have gone to Freedom too at some point, but I don't personally remember them while I was there.

Paige Summers (Penthouse Centerfold)

You win. ;)

Thanks for the tip, Dave, I never knew about this function.

Just had a look and there's no one of any note except one that really surprised me. No one any of you guys will know, but Ray Price, a legendary player of the past for the Parramatta Eels (see my signature) apparently went to Cumberland High School. I'm so famous now.

Wow, I used to go watch him regularly when I was growing up as he played for QPR (a club I've been supported since birth) when my Dad took me to games...

The funny thing is, at school I never knew he played soccer/football. In those days I played for a church league myself and met a lot of other guys who played (we were a little extraordinary not playing rugby), but I never came across Roy Wegerle. But he was a great athlet for the school in track and field athletics.

Small world ........... !

I've probably told some of these stories many a time around here but for those who are just tuning in...

Steve Brown (guitarist from Trixter) and I graduated from Paramus High School in 1988. Nice guy. We sat near each other in homeroom so we'd chit chat about bands we dug (Van Halen, Stryper, Def Leppard, Ratt, etc.) every morning. The drummer (Mark) and singer (Pete) graduated a year before us so I didn't know them, but Mark's brother Dan was in my class, as was Pete's sister Stacey, who makes a brief appearance in the "Give it To Me Good" video. She was hot but a total b*tch. :D

Elaine Zayak (Olympic figure skater) is also a Paramus native. She graduated from PHS the year before I started there, so I didn't know her personally but I had it on good authority from some friends who did that she was a stuck up twat. :D

...and speaking of stuck up twats, actress Stacey Dash also graduated from Paramus High a few years ahead of me. I think she must've been a senior when I was a freshman. I only ever shared one class with her - an art/drawing class - but from what I remember she was very unpleasant to be around. Nice lookin' chick but she carried herself with this snobby, "You are all little people, I am above you" attitude. In other words, she was an airhead beeyotch.

...flash forward a couple of years and I see her in "Clueless," playing ... a stuck up, airhead beeyotch, and all I could think was "Wow, art imitates life."

She also dissed our town in a magazine interview somewhere during her "Clueless" period. I forget her exact words but she described her time in Paramus as "such a shame" because the town is so close to Manhattan and all of its culture, yet the natives were simple bumpkins who'd rather hang out at the mall. Well, excuuuuuuse us, Princess. :2up:

I went to high school with Art Schlichter (Ohio State Quaterback) and NFL player for the Indy Colts. We were on the track team together and my brother and he were the co-captains of the football team(Miami Trace). For those who don't know he got involved with gambling and has been in and out of prison(destroyed his football career) and just recently took 650,000 from a group of folks in Columbus,Ohio (mostly elderly women)on ticket scams. Art was a unbelievable athlete and had more talent in his pinky than most have in their entire bodies. What a waste! Looks like he's gonna do anthor stint back in prison. My parents called to inform me that he was placed in his mothers home pending sentencing and has now failed a drug test(cocaine). This man is 52 now. Sad!

Clearfield High School Utah,

Kevin Dyson WR in NFL drafted by Titans

Andre Dyson, CB in NFL drafted I think by the Seahawks, or Jet's played for both, an interesting their middle brother, Pat Dyson, was by in large far more athletic, freakishly more muscular and physically developed, more aggressive and competitive, and honestly could have been an elite force in the NFL, as he was far more talented then either of his brothers, decided to quit sports all together, drop out, and sell crack, and do large amounts of blow and meth, it was disgustingly nauseating watching someone of his stature, give up, and blow what could've been millions in the NFL, guess it doesn't matter what kind of gifts we are given, what good are they, if they hold absolutely NO!! Interest to us?

And also

Me: im the most famous student from my high school! LOL

also, Jim Mchmahon QB on the Bears 85 super bowl team went to the high school literally 8 miles down the road from Clearfield High School!

I went to Herbert H. Hoover High School in San Diego. Former NFLers Tony Banks and William Gay, Ted Giannoulas (The San Diego Chicken), major leaguers Eddie Williams (No relation) and Hall of Famer "The Splendid Splinter" Ted Williams. Amir Derakh from Rough Cutt and Orgy briefly went there as well. I did not attend at the same time as any of these people.

When I was at school, a couple of the teachers told us that Michael Caine went there (many years earlier, of course). Looking up the school now, he's still the only genuinely famous person to have gone there.

I'm pretty sure that a kid in one of the years above me was in Senser.

In a way I'm pleased - most of the kids in my year were utter c***s; I would hate for one of them to have become rich and famous.

Viv Stanshall (of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band)

Mark Foster (the swimmer)

John Lloyd (the tennis player)
