Its the only LA album i have.... how do the others compare?

That's my favorite album of theirs but all of their cds kick ass IMO.

Are the others a similar style but just less progressive?

They've always had a little progressive in their sound.

I'd say that lyrically "Psychoschizophrenia" is as dark as they ever got.

The prior album "Poetic Justice" has a great cover of Badfinger's 'No Matter What', a great lead single with 'True Believer", a great ballad with "See you Someday" and so many other great songs too.

The debut and "Love and War" are also great too, really you can't wrong with any of the first four studio albums. The "Fields of Yesterday" cd was the last studio cd with Ron Taylor on vocals and is unrelased tracks from the early 90's and is a solid album IMO. The new cd with the new vocalist is a little darker and is by the far the heaviest thing they've done but I like it anyway. There's a cool compilation of the first two cds called "Out of the Darkness-Into the Light" that might be worth checking out if you don't wanna buy both of the first two cds. You can always check out some videos from youtube.com to see if there's any songs you might like.

Thanks for all that info! I think im gonna need to check them out more. Psychoschizophrenia is one of those albums you pick up cheap somewhere, but ive never known much else about them. Ive always liked Psychoschizophrenia as its just a little different to everything else.
