  1. Definitely a change there, we definitely weren't trying to get a similar sounding vocalist to Mark. Hopefully it will grow on you, glad you like the music for now though!
  2. Shhh... that fucker doesn't need any help with his giant ego... ;-)
  3. Hey guys, glad to be back at it. For the record when Bob and I started writing together I had ZERO plans of bringing it back as FarCry. I received overwhelming feedback to keep the name when the material started getting passed around and I (at first) reluctantly brought it back. For us it makes sense for a variety of reasons i that we'll be playing the older material, and our new material is very much in the same vein. Secondly, keeping the name makes it a little easier for us to break back in to the genre, get the festival gigs, etc. I get that some will disagree, and I've occasionally had similar thoughts about other bands that have done similar things. Hopefully once the new album comes out, people will see that it truly embodies the spirit of what FarCry was. Either way, I hope everyone digs it!
  4. There's a surprise, the peanut gallery is usually so constructive in their criticism... and stuff...
  5. DiveBomb Reissues... Millenium - Hourglass Shotgun Messiah - s/t Pierce - III The Anthology
  6. Is there? Looks like Pete scared everyone else from the last album away. Was it their inability to compete with your handsomeness, Pete? Anyway, sounds like a very nice tune. Absolutely, my rugged good looks combined with my sparkling personality is a heady brew for most mortals to deal with and stuff...
  7. Hmmm..... well, Angelo Mazza was in the ill fated Michael Eden version of Eden's Curse for a cup of coffee!! It was a really good cup of coffee. Eden works a French Press like nobody's business. ;-) Probably not... :-P Just saw this here, thanks for posting it, and thank you also for the kind words! Brief rundown of events re: the lineup... After Mark left for personal reasons, we had Mike Ledesma for a few live gigs but I was getting a bit disillusioned with the whole thing, so when I opened a bar in South Philly in 2013 (shameless plug: http://www.facebook.com/taproomon19th ) I broke up the band with no plans to revisit it. After a year or so in the restaurant biz, and with things going relatively smoothly, I started getting the urge to play again, and hooked up with Bob Malone, and we immediately started writing and recording demos. After several months of that I realised the style was just so melodic and similar to what I was doing with FarCry, and after hearing from pretty much everyone I spoke to, I decided to bring back the beast. That original v2.0 lineup had both Ronnie and Tommy in it, but Ronnie's commitments with Bonfire (on tour right now), and Tommy's involvement in a number of paying gigs made their involvement an impossibility, although we are still great friends, and I'd play with those guys again anytime. So Bob, Angelo and I looked for a rhythm section, and found it in Donn Parent and Leo Sabatino, both of whom bring some great stuff to the band, and also had played together for quite some time previous, so they're already in tune with each other. That's the long story short version, but stay tuned, more to come!
  8. Hell yes on the Station... such potential, but sounds unfinished... Apparently I need to give a more proper listen to that Cats in Space release. As far as 2015 in general I can't decide if it was a really strong year which caused me to have such trouble picking between honorables and best ofs, or whether nothing really stood out enough. I am definitely enjoying a lot of the 2015 releases so I'm leaning towards a "glass half full" viewpoint... :-P
  9. By the way, if y'all are on the Untappd app, I'd be happy to have you as a friend. Love to see what everyone else in the melodic rock world is drinking! https://untappd.com/user/bluecharvel
  10. Hey bud, the short version is it basically happened when five of us bought out our printing department from the consulting company we were part of, my boss at the time became the 55% owner, hired his wife with zero experience and a real attyitude problem as our CFO, HR, and basically boss of everything, including me who had been the Director of Operations. One day he told me to he needed me to just "shut up and do what Mary tells you to", so I started planning my career change, and bought a bar in South Philly with a longtime friend from high school. As far as Aussie beer, I don't think we've had too much. It's very expensive and tends not to make the trip around the world sucessfully from a quality standpoint... that being said I recently pre-ordered a salt and pepper gose that I believe is produed in Australia, because I tasted it, and just had to have it, lol... Wow man, I haven't talked to you in like forever brother, how goes it??? Thanks for letting me know about the sig. I fixed the text but apparently not the links, duh... fixed now, and hell yes if you're ever in Philly hit me up, we gotta have a beer. It's Philly Beer Week right now, and it's a crazy time in the city. Philly is all about craft beer, and I'm not talking about Sam seasonals and such, lol... sounds like you're drinking some solid stuff out there, I think you'd appreciate our taplist immensely.
  11. Really enjoying this one, in my top for the year thus far. Call me crazy but I get a real "Escape" era Journey vibe from it, which has always been my favorite Journey release, so an easy sell for me, especially when you add Doug's playing to the mix.
  12. What Dan said, I wouldn't be able to afford to buy anywhere near that amount of physical CD's, but my presenter gig with ARfm allows me access to everything in their library.
  13. Never heard States of Panic, I did enjoy the Dead End Heroes though. Not enough to make Top 5 by any stretch, but a real solid disc for me. Geoff, in general I'm not surprised, I think we've always had a lot of the same favorites over the years!
  14. One of our bartenders just texted me a pic of the Landlord yesterday, said it was awesome, have to get ahold of one of those. Love the Doom Bar, great stuff. Not sure we have it over here, but I've had it a few times on my last two trips to the UK.
  15. One of my friends posted this on FaceTubes. I can't remember the brewery, but my reaction was the same as yours. This friend doesn't even drink, so he didn't know any better. There are two that I'm aware of out here on the east coast, and I've had one of them, and put it on tap at my bar. Spring House "Big Gruesome" Chocolate Peanut Butter Imperial Stout, which is really delicious, and... DuClaw Brewing "Sweet Baby Jesus" Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter, which I haven't had, but gets mixed reviews. The Spring House across the board was enjoyed by every guest I suggested it too, it's really quite good and the peanut butter comes through quite nicely.
  16. Wow, I forgot I even started this thread, and now I own a beer bar... how prophetic... We actually put Guinness (and Harp) on tap for St. Patty's Day this year. Being our first year in business we weren't sure how our South Philly Italian/Hipster neighborhood would respond... let's just say we had Guinness on tap for a long time after that. I actually enjoy it (even after it makes the long trip to the US), but it's definitely better in Ireland.
  17. I lend the occasional CD out to my business partner, and my wife (although she practices the art of putting CD's back in whatever case happens to be available as opposed to the right case for the right CD).
  18. I agree, it's an excellent release. Been playing it quite a bit... stay tuned for singer Marc Farrano's Zombie:Union solo project as well, the guy writes some great stuff and that will have a lot of cool guest artists on it as well. :-)
  19. I also agree that Wall Street isn't horrible. If it was the first album from a new band on the scene I would say they have potential.
  20. Lol, sadly I have to agree with you on that one!
  21. I'm enjoying the whole album, very solid, maybe a little bit more rock than melodic but still with some great choruses and the guitar player kicks ass for sure.
  22. Sounds a whole lot like Wig Wam, but maybe a little more inspired than Wall Street was... :-P
  23. Who among us can put a price on "stunning"?
