I'm sure you're all familiar with "Rock Me Amadeus" and "Der Kommissar", but i'd never heard this one before from the same era.

The chorus is great, but the German spoken word verses don't exactly suit an AOR ballad.

The end of the second verse hilariously sounds like a Hitler rant.

Absolutely!

Apparently it was quite controversial back in the day and banned in several countries.

Not speaking German, i have no idea why.

The clip makes it look like he killed the girl, i dunno?

Its because it had overtones/suggestions of stalking and rape.

The song was actually a trilogy - he released part II called 'Coming Home' and part III called 'The Spirit Never Dies'....both totally cheesy but pretty catchy at the same time.

Can't believe I know all this shite....God Im sad :(

English lyrics to the 2nd verse -

It's cold, we have to come out of here, come on

Your lipstick is blurred

You bought it and I saw it

Too much red on your lips and you said:

“Leave me alone“

But I've seen you through, the eyes say more than words

You'll need me after all, hmh?

All people know that we're together from today,

now I hear them! They're coming

They're coming to get you

They won't find you

Nobody will find you, you're with me

Falco was cool. Many great songs in his catalogue.

Growls or no growls this is a killer song. And in case you are wondering....yes i would ;)

Agreed, I would to but once she started with the 'give it to me big boy' in that voice I'd be out the door in a flash!

Great song, but i just can't handle the cookie monster vocals.

At least her hair's the right colour.

CureThe Sane reminded me of this Elton John song I'd forgotten and now I can't get it out of my head. (Funeral for a friend/Love lies bleeding). How many flipping drumkits has the guy got on the stage?

I've got the vinyl of that album lying around in the attic somewhere if I remember rightly. May have to dig it out.

I love Lacuna Coil's cover of Depeche Mode 'Enjoy the Silence' too, that gets put on repeat.

I've been playing this song a lot lately as it is one of the few songs that really suit my voice.

I do the acoustic and my daughter has started doing the electric.

Great song. When I relistened to it recently I became addicted to it all over again

Used to love "Cracked Rear View," is that the name of the album? But that's about all I know of Hootie and the Blowfish.
