Bullet Head (2017) - nice criminal drama with John Malkovich and Adrien Brody

Battle of the Sexes (2017) - the Billie Jean King bio drama, pretty good,  I was surprised to see quite few comedian actors in it..

Borg vs McEnroe (2017) - also tennis drama similar to the above, but a bit more serious and not as fun

The Spy Who Dumped Me - actually better than I thought it would be. Fun and entertaining all the way through with a few unexpected twists, so expected :)

Look Away - Pretty boring. Was looking like a Carrie clone for most of the movie, until it petered out with no real ending.

"Curtains" (1983)

A group of actresses gathers at a director's secluded country estate in order to audition for his new film. Soon a masked killer starts whittling down the competition one by one.
This slow moving, rather dull slasher/mystery takes way too long to get the body count moving. I'm told that it has something of a cult following nowadays, but it didn't do much for me. Skip it.

yeah, but the mask in Curtains was pretty creepy. And the scene on the road with the creepy doll, also very effective. Ending was unpredictable too. Watched it last night and enjoyed it.

Also watched Black Christmas (1974), good one as well. One of the actresses from above is in it. The Christmas Story director connection is awesome. And young Olivia Hussey is very attractive, so is Margot Kidder :)

Blackkklansman - thought this was a comedy for some reason. It isn't. Not bad, but the liberties they took with the true story left a plot full of stoopid holes.

Die Hard 4 - still a very cool movie.

Pitch Perfect 3 - Yeah, I kinda like these. This one was pretty funny.

Swordfish.
One of my favorite movies. Travolta is incredible in this. Loves me a bad guy Travolta

The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs.
Was not bad. 5 or 6 short stories set in the old west. Last one was boring but others were fun enough to watch.

The Meg.
Finally got to this one. Was ok. Pretty much what you'd expect. Jaws revisited on steroids.

Unfriended Dark Web ~ Rather enjoyed this PG-13 "scary" movie. Nice little plot and some may hate it but this whole movie shot via web cams and phones is fun. I think this was as good as the first movie simply titled Unfriended, which was more a ghost story and this was more of the Purge meets Nerve.

Law Abiding Citizen (2009) - decent revenge on the system flick...

The Equalizer 2 (2018) - good action flick, nothing new or fantastic but worth a watch...

Law Abiding Citizen is amazing. Anyone who hasn't seen it, should.

Let down by Equalizer 2. Didn't come close to the first.

I saw Cool Runnings today, because it was on TV.
Still a great movie, held up well over time. John Candy was a good actor.

Peppermint.

I don't wanna really make a John Wick reference as that will raise hopes, but I guess I just did.
It's not John Wick, but it is in that vein.
Female lead (Jennifer Garner) and she does it well.
Thoroughly enjoyed this one, would be in my top 5 of the year.

Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets - Ive been wanting to watch this one a while, but kept putting it off thinking it would be really cheesy OR stupid. Didnt think it was either. ;) Nice SciFi story with great special effects. Really enjoyed it.  :D

Birdbox with Sandra Bullock. Good (horror) thriller, which I dont normally watch. I dont mind a good mystery/thriller type though.  This one was recommended by my Granddaughter, I did enjoy it. :D

Sorry if it's been mentioned but I haven't dropped into this thread for a while. Any of you guys seen Mandy

Holy shit, what a heavy film. I don't really see any movies these days... in fact, that is probably one of five I've seen this year, but my brother recommended it to me. It was like watching what would surely haunt me for my days after it... but I've survived the aftermath okay. If you love creepy as shit stuff, strong violence and did I mention creepiness? But if you're into horror stuff and want to torment yourself for a couple of hours, check it out. It's even got everyone's favourite Nicolas Cage! ;)

Holmes And Watson
Went in with high expectations having seen some trailers that were hilarious.
Sadly, the trailers were much MUCH better than the movie, which was a big let down.

The newest Predator. Always enjoy them. This one is no different, but Im wondering how many more they can make really. The humans have started to get their tech and will be on equal terms soon. Maybe the next movie should be 100 years in the future and,  humans should go all out and hunt down the predators on their planet. :D

    • I grew up listening to Cuntry, and have kinda wanted to get back into it. But not the typical New Cuntry shit. So I'll give this a try.
    • I always forget about this band, and then I listen to them and am like, "Oh, yeah, they're good!" And then forget about them for another year.
    • I was a pretty big fan. Nature Of The Beast is a killer song. Saw them with Dave Gleeson from the Screaming Jets singing and he did an amazing job, but pretty sure they have a new singer now  I recently went through the two most recent albums before this one and there were a couple of ok tracks, but mostly mid. Fun fact: I saw the Angels a couple of years before Doc died at the Middle hotel in Ferntree Gully and they seemed to hate each other. Pretty sure Doc said nothing to the crowd all night. Fun fact 2: when they were building the transit bar in Melbourne, a mate and I found a service elevator that went to the roof, which was under construction. After peeing off the roof, which is always fun, we realised that we could clearly hear the music 5 or 6 floors below from a DJ I think. He was playing Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again. We started yelling down the No Way Get Fucked, Fuck Off bit thinking we were hilarious. Then soon we noticed people looking up, and for some reason they seemed to be clearly hearing us. Another mate then called us to tell us security were on the way up the stairs so we took the service elevator down and managed to laugh it off. Stoopid drunk story I guess, but fun days.
    • Cheeky, getting your artwork in there. I wonder how you did that.  I like the vocal track on #1 and that'd be my pick. I personally don't dig the female versions of songs, because I'm not a female (yet?) and as these are songs written by ourselves I personally feel the best interpretation is an AI dude voice taking the place of your dude voice.
    • Yeah, that's great but this is obviously an accomplished musician probably completely in control of this output... not done with Suno, I'd bet. There's definitely dudes out there who are perfectly capable of doing their own music, like this dude, but for whatever reason might not be able to put a project together, again, for whatever reason... but this definitely feels a lot more like AI feeling in the missing gaps for someone otherwise in complete control of what he wants.  Either way, it is very cool indeed.  As Darkstone says, I'm not sure paying is the way to get the best results. I'm also not saying it isn't, especially with other platforms that are not Suno. I think already knowing what you're doing, musically, is the best way to get best results, personally. Suno, for example, is just perfect for someone who might enjoy writing lyrics but is not in any way shape or form an accomplished (or even adequate, lol) musician.  But yeah, it's pretty cool for some fun. I'm not sure if you checked out my links above. Keeping them pretty quiet due to lyrical content, lol, but you might dig some of the stuff in my links. 'As the moment passes by' and 'I'll wait for you' are two of my personal faves. Along with 'Faith to fall.'
    • Yeah, musically it's what you want, but vocally... Maybe Alex should take some vocal lessons from Ken Tamplin. ;}
    • Your Eyes - Darkstone (2024) Two versions of my song number 6     https://suno.com/song/e8c1e85b-21ee-4d35-a64b-e786f00944d2   https://suno.com/song/9144c77a-bd7c-49c1-9508-f724d0832fdb
    • Yep, although I was never a massive fan.
    • Yes, celebrating their fifty years. There only two original members left in the band. Dusty might agree with me the Angels died when the original singer passed away.
