Skyfall

Have to admit that I really loved this bond movie. Stunningly shot......through the action pieces / scenery in Scotland (wow)......and a good story. Great baddie as well - some really funny moments too. All in all I can throughly recommend this.

How awesome is Craig as well?! Easily the best bond.

And the return of the DB5. I can't wait to see it. It opens tonight, I believe.

Best Bond movie in years and years. Daniel Craig is fast catching Sean Connery as the best Bond ever for sure. Wanna see it again now.

"The Avengers" (2012)

Thor's crazed brother Loki wants to take over the Earth, prompting Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. to assemble the world's greatest super hero team - Captain America, Iron Man, the Black Widow, Hawkeye, Thor and the Hulk - to save the planet in this year's mega-blockbuster. Tons of action, great performances, and all out mayhem make this one a must see. It's total Comic Geek Overload!!!

Amazing Spider-Man

I thought this was good, but with all the hype about it I thought it was going to be great. I'm getting a little tired of REBOOTS!

Mmm, personally for me he's streets ahead of Connery

"Jumanji" (1995)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyYGcIVWx4Q

Family-friendly fantasy adventure where a pair of kids discover an antique safari-themed board game with magical powers, which unleashes a horde of nasty creatures that quickly cause utter chaos in their peaceful New England town. The CGI effects have dated pretty badly but it's fun and action packed. My kids got a kick out of this one.

Watch for a young Kirsten Dunst as the big sister!

"Dead Silence" (2007)

While investigating his wife's mysterious death, a man returns to his home town and discovers the vengeful spirit of a murdered ventriloquist and her army of dolls.

Stylish thriller from the director of "Saw" has loads of atmosphere but isn't very involving; it should've been way spookier given the premise.

A decent enough time waster, but nothing I'll ever watch again.

Five Year Engagement ; decent but not superb film. It's got Marshall from 'How I met your mother' in it and has a few solidly amusing parts, but clocking in at 2 hours and 15 minutes, they're far too far and few between. The story is nice and predictable enough. Not a bad film at all... just not essential.

"Rambo" (2008)

Stallone's fourth go-round as the unstoppable killing machine finds a retired Rambo living the quiet life in Thailand, till he agrees to escort a group of missionaries into war-torn Burma. Of course, the innocents quickly get captured by the sadistic Burmese military, and John-Boy has to mount a rescue mission.

Much more gritty and brutal than the prior entries in the series, this is a more realistic (if that's the right word) "Rambo," with less emphasis on rah-rah flag waving and plenty of down 'n' dirty flesh-n-blood flyin' in all directions. Gore hounds and action freaks alike should dig this one.

Immortals

(fairly pointless really, but watchable. Rourke has a silly hat which means he isnt that menacing as the baddie)

I guess we really disagree on this one. I loved it. I'd take this over all the other similar films. Tarsem Singh, yet again, proved he's a force to be reckoned with. Visually stunning, if nothing else.

    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
