In Italy because of Frontiers, right? That doesn't mean ADV is involved, yet, right? I don't need another great artist ADVed.

It would be a shame, wouldn't it. Especially as this is basically a one-man project.

Given that they worked together on the Find Me album, I would almost guarantee ADV is involved with this one.

Thats not bad...long way removed from Master Of The Universe stuff but he's quite good at this feelgood 80's summer type stuff :P

Cool song but the production makes it sound like he's lisping here and there.

Listened to the Itunes samples and some songs are sounding pretty modern (which is not my cup of tea) but especially the first half sounded great.

This guy has absolutely taken it to another level of awesome with his last album and this track.

It's a great song, just seems like the recording is over-saturated/recorded too loud. I had to drop almost every band in my equalizer to clean it up to where I could actually hear it. Looking forward to the rest of the record and hoping no ADV is in it.

C.H.

PALACE-one-4-the-road-COVER_600x600.jpg

From Frontiers:

Palace, the brainchild of Lithuanian born Swedish vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Michael Palace, returns with a fourth album, "One 4 The Road". Once again, Michael Palace handles all the instrumentation, songwriting, and production for the effort, which showcases his love for the imagery and sounds of the glorious ‘80s. "One 4 The Road" is an unabashedly massive AOR/Melodic Rock album, as has come to be expected from this gifted Swede's output under the Palace moniker. Palace's sound can best be described as a carefully curated blend of all the greatest arena rock, AOR, and hard rock from the 80’s delivered in a tight-knit package. Unforgettable choruses, virtuosic guitars, clever lyricism, and a true passion for the retro aesthetic...Palace tickles the nostalgia nerve, while maintaining a firm foothold in the now.

Michael Palace first began collaborating with Frontiers as a songwriter and guitarist for First Signal, which of course features legendary Harem Scarem vocalist Harry Hess, Cry of Dawn featuring Goran Edman, Kryptonite featuring The Poodles vocalist Jakob Samuel, and Pride Of Lions vocalist Toby Hitchcock. Those successful (and musically delightful) collaborations led to a deal with Frontiers where Michael could deliver songs in his own vision without other musicians in mind under the name Palace. "One 4 The Road" is the fourth release by Michael's solo vehicle, which he has been releasing albums by bi-annually since 2016.

Michael Palace is best known for his namesake project, where he is responsible for every part of the production. Michael does it, not out of necessity, but rather a deep love for the entire craft, and frequently collaborates with a vast number of artists and musicians around the world. Michael Palace has honed his skills as a musician, songwriter, and studio whiz with several different acts over the years, including, but not limited to KENT HILLI (Perfect Plan), FANS OF THE DARK, THE MURDER OF MY SWEET, HOUSTON, FIND ME (featuring Robbie LaBlanc), FIRST SIGNAL (featuring Harry Hess), and more.

Fans of Palace’s previous three releases, “Master Of The Universe”, “Binary Music”, and "Rock and Roll Radio", will have no shortage of joy upon hearing the band’s latest entry into Michael Palace’s impressive and growing catalog.

1. Fifteen Minutes

5. The Driver

There's only one word to describe this album AWESOME!!!

Was listening to this poolside today as I'm 3 days into a two week holiday. Then the track "cancel the flight" came on and I thought that's how I'm gonna feel on my last day.

    • I first heard this a few years ago, and it has probably been discussed on here before but the search function throws up everything when you search for Jani or Serial Killer. I had liked the song The one that got away on Alice Coopers Along came a spider album, and one day a few years ago I found out it was originally an unreleased Jani Lane song. Being a huge Jani fan I have just been wishing that all the unreleased stuff I have heard over the years would get a remaster and a proper release as he was one hell of a song writer and singer. This though sounds fully produced. Also found an old interview from 2010 where Jani discussed working with Alice on his (then) upcoming Welcome 2 my nightmare album, but sadly looking at the writing credits, they went in a different direction as there are no Jani writing credits. I wonder if there are any unreleased Alice Cooper songs from those writing sessions?
    • Yeah true mine came with the card too - no. 304

    • Popping back in to plug a damn fine album by a damn fine group.  Came out this Friday and I can't stop listening to it. These Swedes have been on an upward trajectory since their debut in 2017. This is already their 4th album. The last one, Rambler, was very good so I thought it would be hard to top, but they have succeeded by a considerable margin.  Black Paisley take their influences from the classic 80s hard/heavy rock genre, with a tinge of modern vibes. Guitarist Franco Santunione joined for the Rambler album and he was a real shot in the arm.  This is riffy, melodic, head bop inducing stuff.  Everything is excellent on this album, but a few songs stick out even more IMO, and they are Set Me Free, In the Night, World's Turning, Silent Asylum and Crazy.  If you haven't checked these fellas out, you really should.  I don't know how to embed Spotify or YT links, so if someone nice could help out, it would be greatly appreciated.
    • Pretty decent... not mad about it.
    • Nice. I like it a lot. And yeah, very good quality for a demo.
    • Didn't know what to make of that one so I actually checked out another song from them-   So they are a rock band... just not really sure what to make of them. Sounds a bit thin, and dare I actually say it, but can something be over-produced? Not sure if that's just me listening on a laptop, though. But I'm moderately intrigued.
    • Wow, hook line and sinker with the first song alone. Magnificent. Will check out asap.
    • Some more tunes from the new album:
