New album out August 21st. The first album without Richie Sambora.

New single 'Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning' out end of July.

From dnaindia.com:

Popular rock band Bon Jovi will release a special fan album, "Burning Bridges" next month, leading up to its overseas tour that is scheduled for September.

The band will also be unveiling two new tracks before the release of the special album on August 21, reported Billboard.

"Burning Bridges, which will be released on August 21st, is an album for fans and will accompany an upcoming international tour.

"The band is hard at work on their next album, which will see a full-scale release in 2016," a spokesperson confirmed.

The first track, "We Don't Run", is co-written by lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and Grammy-winning producer John Shanks.

"Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning", the second single, is said to be a happier, more romantic, bright pop song with a hooky chorus.

"Burning Bridges" follows 2013's platinum-selling "What About Now", which became Bon Jovi's fifth chart-topping smash hit.

I don't mind songs like this, but there's nothing exciting about it, either. Also, the title just invokes memories of a previous Bon Jovi song that's much better, "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night."

I read somewhere else that "We Don't Run" is supposed to be quite a rocker. I'm curious to find out just how much it is.

I feel like I've been more patient and understanding with Bon Jovi than most people, but even I felt the frustration with the last album and so far this is more of the same. Again, I don't think that it's anything to hate by itself, but it's not good enough to really make people want to listen again.

How are you hearing the song, man? Would love to hear it.

I'm also in the anti-hate crowd when it comes to Bon Jovi and will be interested to hear this one. Can;t believe they're actually going through with an album without Sambora. I wonder how it will sound. I haven't read or heard anything about that whole situation, other than a quick word at the time when Sambora was supposedly kicked out of the band. I think I just put it down to the media looking for a story and making something of nothing, and I just assumed he was back in the band the week after. But I guess there's more to it. What's the story?

Also, are the other 3 guys still there, and who's the new guitarist?

I heard something about Phil X filling in, but don't know if replacing.

First 6 for me, as I think "These Days" is also a great album

Agree, first 6

Never been a big fan. Turned me off when Jon Bon Dickhead said he would never again do the style that made them successful. Another John Waite..... hates the discs that made them a household name. Bon Jovi really hasn't been Bon Jovi since KTF.

Fuck you Jon.

Apparently the new album coning out is all previously recorded material and HAVE HAD SAMBORA'S GUITAR PARTS REMOVED and replaced.

What a load of fkn shit that is!

That album is due very soon, with a completely new album in the works for next year.

Has JBJ turned into Sharon Osbourne??

Wow, really? What era are we talking about... when these songs were originally recorded? I assume they're all recent recordings, obviously?

Cool news about the new album next year too.

Listen to 'We Don't Run': http://www.republicplaybook.com/track/bon-jovi-we-dont-run/

It's not that bad. Pretty good in fact.

Yep, I like that. Good modern rock song. I wish he'd quit the inspiro lyrics in most every song these days, but otherwise it's good stuff. I like the guitar too. Simple but cool in a modern rock way.

Listened to the Saturday / Sunday track whatever it's called yesterday, really boring. Is ''We Don't Run'' better? Can't listen to it right now... But why do they promote this as an ''album for the fans'' then what have all their previous albums been??? I can't blame Jon or the band for trying to change their sound, people change and that's ok for a band that's been around for 3 decades. But is it too much to ask to grow some balls once in a while and rock out??

All leftovers from the last two albums minus the two new songs.

'We Don't Run' is clearly intended to win new younger fans, it has that really modern vibe, probably a little 'New Republic' going on the chorus, quite catchy and atmospheric, don't mind it, not bad I agree :)

So they weren't good enough for the last 2 albums (which were very ordinary, especially that last piece of garbage) but they're good enough to serve up to fans now?!?!?!

haha in Bon Jovi world, every leftovers can be used to farm some cash, remember 100 million bon jovi boxset ? they grab plenty of leftovers to build up to 4 CDs :D

Yeah but those were mostly left overs from GOOD albums. The last two BJ albums were shit and now we get to enjoy the worst of those? Not interested...

But who's taste do you trust? You never know; their idea of the shit songs might actually be the better songs according to their older fans? I'm definitely NOT saying this to be fact, but you never know. In fact, there's only one way to find out for sure, and we all know what that is. ;)

If this was July 22, 1987 you and I would be in the middle of the street, fighting.

But it's July 22, 2015, and I couldn't agree more.

    • Another Robert Mason post, but this time I really do feel a connection with it. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but my name is Dustin.  Everybody calls me Dusty, so when I saw the new Warrant album (Rockaholic) featured not only one of my favourite vocalists, but also included a track called Dusty's Revenge, I couldn't believe it. I then find out that it's a concept album about a "Rockaholic" called Dusty. For obvious reasons, I love this album. Here's a couple of tracks.
    • Harpsichord.    I thought of it and it was random, so there you go.
    • From their FB page: Alcatrazz wish to make the following announcement: Back in late 2020 the brilliant Doogie White came in to help us out with our then already booked live dates after the departure of the previous vocalist (those dates were ultimately postponed to late 2021 due to the Covid lockdowns). We all had a GREAT time...and thus, one thing led to another and before we knew it we had made two fantastic albums and toured considerably in a nearly 4 year period. Now our schedule is getting busier and busier, as is Doogie's with his very fine solo work... and with that, the inevitable clashing of dates in our respective diaries, and needless to say, the impossibility of him being able to be in two places at one time. We remain on very very good terms with Doogie and cannot thank him enough for his contributions to the band, he is very welcome on our stage anytime, as are all past Alcatrazz alumni. Current Warlord vocalist and someone already known to many Alcatrazz fans (as co-producer and also contributing songwriter for Alcatrazz's past 3 albums) Giles Lavery will be stepping up for the 2024 live dates - and with that we will be reintroducing many songs from the Alcatrazz past, including some not played in many years. Giles's first show is 22nd of March in New Orleans, lets all make him feel welcome and please lets also give a massive thank you to our dear friend Doogie White for everything he gave to this band since 2020, he is a true pro and a great person! Doogie has a video message to the fans that we will share later today as well. Jimmy, Gary, Joe, Larry.
    • Maybe it's because I've heard GnR a couple thousand times by now, but I much prefer "Fall to Pieces" by Velvet Revolver over "Sweet Child o Mine" at this point in my life.
    • I'll have to investigate that Durbin. I'd count Striker and Mick Mars among the best metal releases as well now that I think about it.
    • Haven't picked up Saxon yet, but as far as metal goes, I love the new Durbin album as well.
    • I wasn’t thrilled with the singles as they came out, other than “The Serpent and the King”, but I’ll be damned if they haven’t grown on me while listening to them as part of the cohesive package that is “Invincible Shield”. I broke down and picked up the Target exclusive to get the three bonus tracks, and I enjoy them too. Overall, a damn fine addition to the JP discography. Is it better than “Firepower“? I’m not there yet, but time will tell. 🤔 This one and Saxon have set the bar pretty high for metal this year. 👍
    • Agree with this. Though I think you should check out Firepower. You can get it real cheap new everywhere. It is molten. I'm also enjoying Invincible very much and 2024 new music as a whole.
    • I remember my early days on the internet joining a group on Yahoo (yeah thats how long ago it was) and the woman who created the group was trying to persaude me how great Creed was, so much so that she sent me the first two albums on CD. I had no idea what they sounded like. When I played them all I could think is that they sounded like Pearl Jam, and I fucking hate Pearl Jam. I ended up trading them for something better. I can't remember the ins and outs of it, but I somehow shared my CD collection online and she noticed straight away that the Creed CDs were not listed. She asked me why and I said I sold them as really did not like them, and got something I did like. She never spoke to me again after that
