A nice bit of advertising ahead of their 'last ever' tour ... :)

What annoys me with all the hype leading up to this is the same as the last time they did a hype lead up, once again anyone outside of America is left feeling let down.

Yeah at least this time, unlike the Vegas residency, the rest of the world is told it will be a world tour, but seeing as its only January and we are told 2015 is when the rest of the world is likely to start seeing the tour, then we are left waiting again.

Surely seeing as they did the Vegas thing not long ago, it would have made more sense to start the tour in another country, then return to the USA to finish off on home soil.

Also, absolutely no mention was made of a new studio album, which is something else everyone wanted to hear.

We were told about a country music tribute album, with country artists covering Crue songs (which I kinda like the sound of, so sue me), but most Crue fans are not going to buy that.

And we were also told that The Dirt is finally going into production, but that just means we will probably be waiting another 2 to 3 years to see that as well.

Lot of hype over very little really.

Does anyone really care at this point? When the boys are hitting 60 plus its time to retire IMO

Yeah I care. I'm a huge Crüe fan and if you have seen them live in the last couple of years they still got it.

IMO, this is about Mick. Period.

I'd have more respect for them if they came out and said that this was about Mick ... it's no secret that the poor bastard's health is failing.

Mick and Vince are 52, Nikki 55. No idea how old Mick is 62.

Aerosmith are older and can still rock live. Dio was older when he died, and could still rock live. Alice Cooper is older, and can still rock live,

Being over 60 does not mean you need to call it a day.

I have seen Crue several times since 2005, with the last being in 2012, and they are still great.

Lots of people care, which is why they still sell out arena tours around the world.

I agree. And it has nothing to do with his age. This is definitely about his health & the fact that they don't want to go on with a replacement should something awful happen.

Meh. It's about damn time. Mick Mars is what, 127 years old? The poor bastard can barely stand upright anymore.

Shit. It looks like the tour ends in Vancouver. But - BUT! - it's $100 for any decent ticket. I'll have to talk this over with the boys.

How much is an indecent ticket ?

Well, $35 is the cheapest, and that gets you into the nosebleeds. $66 is the next price range, and that's only a slightly "better" section in the nosebleeds.

Sixx also confirmed what Vince Neil said yesterday, that even though the Crue are embarking on their Final Tour, they will continue to record, even if they’re released as one-off songs instead of albums. “Me and Mick [Mars] have been working on some ideas and in a day and age of spending 6 – 9 months recording a new album that falls on deaf ears,” he continued. “We’re looking for songs that we write to reach more people, hence our relationship with Dodge and sponsors. we think getting less music out to more people is more important than getting more music out to less people.”

I bought my tickets today for STL and they are not cheap except the lawn. I'm in the center but the back part...$104 a ticket.

Ouch. :yikes:

Last time I paid that much for a concert ticket, it was for Iron Maiden.

Last time I paid that much for a ticket was about 10 years ago. Try buying a concert ticket here in Australia. You're looking at $us150+ for a descent ticket. I'd go to so many more shows at $100.

Shit! Even for local acts?

No that's for big bands.... Crüe , jovi , Metallica, etc and whoever is big at the time (pink, ....etc) etc. basically arena or stadium shows.

Mid level club shows are around the $60 mark. (Airbourne, crashdiet, ...) upcoming skid row / ugly kid joe club shows are $aud75, so about $us65-70.

Local bands at the local bar $10-$15

    • Added Framing the Red over on the main site recently: Framing the Red discography reference list of music CDs. Heavy Harmonies Their website: Framing The Red Their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/framingtheredband Their YouTube channel: (23) Framing the Red Official Page - YouTube They have four releases, and all are quite good in my opinion. If I had to describe them, I'd say this is what Gunshine would sound like if they went in a more southern rock direction.  Here are some of my favorite tracks... Crossroads   Whiskey & Weed   Holy Water   Mississippi Hippie   Heroes   Bonnie & Clyde   Rockin' Into the Night (38 Special cover)   "Crossroads" and "Heroes" are probably my two faves.  *I will give a word of warning:  if you decide to purchase any of their discs, they are barebones releases with just the CD in a cardboard slipcase. I enjoy the music enough that that's not an issue for me though.  @lettard @KarpetRydOFunk @tts42572 @AlphaMale @Dead Planet @Mr.AOR @tobi is an animal I think all of you gentlemen should give these guys a listen and see what you think.
    • H.E.A.T - 1000 Miles Vega - Hands In The Air The Defiants - Stay Issa - River of Love I'm at work right now so that's all I know off the top of my head but I'll look through my library for more when I get a chance.
    • Maybe anything by the Darkness
    • Wig wam - hard to be a rock n roller
    • Saw these guys first time a couple of years ago, when they were 16-17 years old, they are absolutely awesome. They have been touring for a few years now, performing their own songs, yet haven't released anything, until now. I have tickets to see them this saturday, opening for Mercenary. First single and video:
    • I want to compile quite an extensive playlist of hard rock songs that has a key change in the end. Why? Cause I think it sounds awesome Some well known exambles are: Bon Jovi - Living On a Prayer Wig Wam - In My Dreams Danger Danger - Don't Blame it on Love H.E.A.T - Beg Beg Beg
    • My Japan copy showed up today. I was critical of the Part I album as that one just did very little for me.  Basically, I just didn't think the songs were all that catchy and/or memorable.  I played that album a handful of times trying to get into it and gave up rather quickly which was disappointing as I loved Wired.  Maybe I just had too high of expectations or something.  I know many liked that album but for me at least, that Megalomanium I album would be ranked toward the bottom of their discography. Well, after hearing this new one, I'm feeling the opposite....Here I feel like they nailed it and I'm digging this one after the first listen.  I basically couldn't wait to start it over and listen again. The first 5 songs just come out guns a blazing with catchy, hook filled songs.  Yeah, we've heard 4 of those songs as singles but I almost purposely haven't listened to those songs much so they'd still sound fresh when the album dropped.  Then the one song we hadn't heard, All I Want, is just another upbeat, catchy tune. The 2nd half though is where things probably get more interesting.  Songs like Dive Into You and To Say Goodbye are the kinds of varied balladish/mid-tempo type songs I've been wanting Eclipse to mix things up with and there's 2 of those songs here, both very well done IMO.  Then there's a couple heavier tunes like Divide & Conquer and One In A Million that sound like stuff that could've been on Bleed & Scream.  And then a couple other melodic rockers with Until the War is Over and Pieces. I also feel like this has some of the better lyrics that Eclipse has had in awhile.  I think a lot of their material recently has been just been sort of lighter subject matter, 3 minute "simplistic" romps.  I felt Part I had a lot of that which kind of contributed to it being less interesting.  Here though, it seems like some of these songs get a bit deeper and can feel more emotion in songs like Still My Hero, Dive Into You and To Say Goodbye for example.   Anyways, where Part I is among my least favorite Eclipse albums, I'd say my early impression of Part II is that it'll be among my favorite Eclipse albums.
    • New song 'Unbreakable'.
    • Solid hard rock album. Nothing really stood out to me, but it’s solid.
