As above, this is a really stupid and pointless gripe, but sometimes we all get annoyed by silly things (especially in this f***ing heat in my case). Am I the only one who really hates the abbreviation "D2"? I just think it sounds really shit. Danger Danger isn't a very good band name imo, but it's a million times better than "D2"!

And while we are on this subject, why is the restaurant Buffalo Wild Wings referred to as BW3? :unsure:

Haha. Never really thought anything of. If anything I've been grateful, as a lazy typist, for the abbreviation of "D2" when I speak of the best band on the planet, rather than having to type Danger Danger every time. :)

DRN - Dumpy's Rusty Nuts (seriously!)

 

I'm as bad as anyone for abbreviating band names when typing stuff.

I see it a bit differently, the one word abbreviations are fine. The initials are completely rubbish and D2 is about a million times worse.

 

There are so many stupid abbreviations at work these days, maybe this one is the straw that broke the camel's back. In terms of annoyance, this is the HH forum equivalent to people on the football message boards I use who write 'loose' and 'loosing' when they mean 'lose' and 'losing'. (And I'm talking about British people with a British education.) They should be humanely destroyed.

There is a big difference between people using abbreviations, and people who cannot spell.

      Ok, lets put this into perspective as to how overpriced this is. Queen (a much bigger band) has announced the reissue of their debut album. It comes in multiple formats to suit every pocket. The ultra special edition has six CDs and one LP. It has everything from remixes, remasters and live tracks to unreleased stuff. What are they asking for this? £150... thats £30 less than the shit Crue is putting out.       I have learned not to assume these kinda releases are stand alone so I won't be buying the digital single, that's for sure. Been bitten with that one before. And if it does end up being standalone, well the digital single will still be available later. I don't like buying anything digitally, so only do it when there is no other choice.

      Eclipse played that same game when Apocalypse Blues came out.  They dropped that song as just a single and made no mention of an album at that point as far as I remember.  All they were doing was selling the 7 inch vinyl.  We know now though that they clearly knew a full album was coming as Erik said they basically were working on both albums at the same time and deciding which tracks would go on each album.  Granted, maybe they didn't know the full timing of album #2 at that point but they certainly knew one was coming. Maybe the same here.  Maybe will trickle out a few songs and then announce an album later this year or early next year when it's closer to release.
