Wow, we've come to the "W"s. As usual, quite a few solid choices got cut in my quest to whittle things down to 20 choices, so write-ins welcome.

My vote--and I'm sure it won't be the only one--goes to Wig Wam. I swear if you look up the word "catchy" in the dictionary, you'll find photos of their albums right next to it. Great band.

So who do you like?

I had to go with Whitesnake. One of my all time favs.

But Wildside-Under The Influence is in my top 10 disks.

Classic White Lion for me. Waltham has put one of the best cd's in the past 10 years, so they would get my vote for 2nd. Warrant also put out some amazing releases like Cherry Pie and Dog Eat Dog. Whitesnake is also excellent. Butch Walker has released some great stuff, Wow! Wig Wam, I love W. What A Wicked Wonderful Wetter, I mean Letter.

Almost picked W.A.S.P. but I'm gonna have to go with an "other" yet again -- Warrior Soul.

Whitesnake - Pre '87 especially. Awesome

Special mention to Work Of Art who just released one of the best AOR discs in the last 10 years and White Heart who probably were the best Christian AOR band out there

A lot of really great bands there but my vote is for Warrant, just over Wig Wam. With too many to note just behind.

What sealed the deal was Warrant's flawless 'Dog eat dog'.

Going off the board again...

Warlock...with Wrathchild (America) a close second.

PS: Check out the video I posted in the "Music Video" thread for a cool look at a band trying to make it back in the mid-eighties.

Whitesnake due to sheer volume of excellent material.

But close behind were Wig Wam - love both of their albums.

Some more with one awesome release -

Work Of Art - fast becoming my fav of 2008

Wildkard

Wildlife - vastly underrated 'classic' pre FM

Witness - great female fronted featuring Schon on a few tracks

Cheers
