Yes please let me know what you think of that Dirty Rhythm.

 

I've been wanting to pick these up (along with some of Sun City's other releases) but I can seem to find anyplace to buy them. I don't feel like paying the higher shipping rates that Sun City has. If anyone knows of somewhere else to pick these up, please let me know.

By the way mate, have you given it a listen yet.

The remastering is pretty good although I think some of the warmth of the NEMS vinyl version from years back has been lost. I also think its been speeded up a touch - or maybe the NEMS vinyl was cut a little slow?

 

I played my vinyl next to the CD and it (the vinyl) runs slower (to test that it wasn't my record deck I played my Spys 1st album on vinyl along with the CD version and that's pretty much bang on ... plus I've been thru about 3 turntables since buying the vinyl way back then and there was no noticeable difference between them).

 

I compared Waites vocals from this CD to the 1st Babys CD and they seem to match a little closer than the NEMS release so maybe it WAS slow...but I'm so used to it sounding that way that the CD version sounds funny.

 

The booklet is fucking great though and gives all the gritty details that the vinyl version never had, although I think it's a bit of cheek saying that the tracks were left on the shelf when it was officially released on the NEMS label over here (dunno about the U.S.)

Nick - I haven't got my Vinyl Deck set up anymore so haven't played the vinyl in a long time, so can only compare with the CD-R transfer I have. The remastering sounds pretty good for the age of the material so all in all I am very happy with the finished product and finishes of my Babys collection very nicely thanx.

Did you see on the inside of the tray card that it mentions 'more Babys to Come'. Don't know what that is all about, but it is either more re-issues of the albums or hopefully more unreleased stuff or live stuff which would be very Coolio indeed. :drink:

Stratovarius - s/t (the comeback album - pretty excited about this, love the first track - Strat go modernish)

Shakra - powerride (loving this band more and more, great hard rock)

The Poodles - metal will stand tall (cant wait for this! very excited)

Heed - the call (one of the 2006 releases ive been pretty excited over, though hhavnt seen it mentioned much)

Mad Max - night of white rock (looking forward to this too, my first Mad Max release)

I have the 'HEED' album. Is good stuff, nothing earth-shattering though...
