  1. Yep, that's true! Here's a thread on this topic...
  2. Jettblack – Raining Rock (June 4; Spinefarm)
  3. Another bunch of bloody young kids: Less than 4 They've got their debut album coming out in May! Doesn't sound too bad judging by the single.
  4. New disc from these ladies coming up in May! You can listen to their new single on their website. Sounds pretty neat to my ears!
  5. Congrats! Keep that controversy up, it makes for interesting discussions
  6. 15 songs? wow, last year a few of the H.E.A.T guys were at Firefest & played 28 songs to Kieran who organises Firefest. According to him, every song he heard is flawless. I wonder whether in a couple of years we see bootlegs of all those tracks floating around (same goes for a lot of other bands) just like f.e the Blue Tears demos back then... Back on topic: Got the album today and on first spin it definately sounds like a winner! Not a perfect, but a very good album to my ears with some instant massive tracks as "Breaking the Silence", "Living on the Run" or "Heartbreaker". I wonder whether anyone else was expecting a huge chorus in "Downtown"? All the way through I just thought 'now it's going to take off completely over the top', but somehow that didn't happen (I DO like the song!).

Really? God it aint that different to the last album?? Agreed, those samples sound like they coulda came off New Religion. Granted the samples are low quality uploads but for the songs themselves I am very pleased. Even that ballad Only The Dead know sounds like something off Skid Row's Slave To The Grind. I didn't listen to the samples. I am basing it off the In The Night single alone and to me, yes it is very different from New Religion. I tend to agree with you. I only listened to the samples Frontiers provided and the whole 'In the Night'-song and was quite disappointed at first. Somehow I'm warming up to those samples though and I'm still (or again) very excited to listen to the whole disc through my stereo a couple of times.
  8. Just got back from Steel Panther in Zurich...and what can I say: simply STUNNING show!! Because the planned location was sold out within a couple of weeks, it was moved to a bigger venue and it still was a sold-out show...must have been around 600-700 people, which is nothing short of amazing! It's easy to see why they attract way bigger crowds than all 80s bands (Bon Jovi, G'n'R, Crüe and Def Lep aside): They are simply better! Absolutely flawless playing and singing plus highly entertaining and participating with the crowd. About half of the crowd must have been (hot) girls and everybody knew the lyrics. I say, everybody who predicts that they are soon gone is dead wrong: This is only the beginning, because in the end it doesn't really matter whether their lyrics are explicit (at least for non-natives). I predict their next album is going to enter the Swiss charts around rank 10-20, same goes for Germany and the Scandinavian countries.
  9. +1 That's the way to make a comeback!
  10. For anyone interested they have a new album coming out in April called R.O.A.D.T.R.I.P A video for their first single is on youtube: They've worked with Tobias Lindell on the newbie, so I'm definately going to listen to some samples, although I find them to be quite generic.
  11. Hell yeah, these guys just signed to Frontiers for their upcoming follow-up called "A Sinners Saint" on June 29!!
  12. I know some people on here value Dalton quite high and I like them too. Therefore it's great news to see them reunited, BUT even greater news is that nobody else than Chris Laney is going to produce their comeback album!! Another album to look forward to!
  13. Okay, finally there's a release date for one of my most anticipated albums of the year (and that's without taking anything away from an looking-to-be-excellent 2012!)... Baby Jane's debut "In the Spotlight"! The samples in this trailer sound amazing to my ears, check 'em out: Should appeal to all Crashdiet and Crazy Lixx fans out there!
  14. Nice, really rate this album Hugely underrated album! Love it!
  15. couldnt agree more.....a very 'mature' and varied rock record. Great to hear. +1 This is the way to do it for old bands! In my eyes only Beggars & Thieves, Danger Danger and Treat have managed to make a real cracker (song- and production-wise) so far.
  16. They have been recording their debut this winter, so I guess it's out in the next 2 or 3 months! Great tune!
  17. Yeah I agree! On second listen they are pretty bad actually...as is the album cover!
  18. Wow, completely out of nowhere these guys hava a newbie called 'Beautiful Alien' coming out in March. Seems like they've been dropped by Jive Records though... Anyway, I liked their debut and I'm not really sure about the new samples
  19. Not sure many would agree with you on that one, mate. Debut is awesome, but imo 'Wig Wamania' is 10 times better and by far their best. +1 Wig Wamania is their best by far IMO but the other two are great as well. I prefer the debut over Wig Wamania. Still think the second half of that album is rather weak (especially compared to the excellent first half). But then again I remember the first time I heard the snippet off the chorus of "Hard to be a R'n'Roller" back in 2004 and I was completely blown away and instantly knew that melodic rock is slowly making its comeback...I had a hard time to hunt down the album and when I finally got it, I played it to death...until "In my Dreams" came out and I was blown away once again. Therefore my expectations for Wig Wamania were sky-high and couldn't be fulfilled. Still a great album though... I still don't really know what to think about "Non Stop Rock'n'Roll"...some very average songs and missing an über-song like "In my Dreams" or "Gonna get you someday" imo. Judging by the vibe of "Wall Street" I'm pretty sure that the newbie is going to be better, but it'll be hard to come close to their first two records.
  20. These guys have a new EP coming up and I wouldn't be surprised if they get signed to a Major label in the near future following in the footsteps of Reckless Love. Seriously, I think this is one hell of a band and with a little guidance of a great producer they could go far. Check out "Anthem for the Young and Restless" and "Over the Limit from the upcoming EP: Santa Crut Hitlantis According to their FB-page they really just signed a deal with Spinefarm/Universal! Fantastic news and yet another very promising album to look forward to!
  21. New band Toxic Rose, sort of out of the ashes of Lipstixx'n'Bulletz as it is consisting of its singer and the drummer. Since the singer's the brother of Crashdiet's Martin Sweet and there's a guy from Gemini 5 on board as well, their sound is pretty much in the same vein. I love "Don't hide in the Dark". Check 'em out on Facebook
  22. Agree, I think it's a very nice little album! Seems like they'v got a newbie coming very soon: BB Steal - Homepage
  23. Nice to see some love for this one! I always thought it was completely underrated and somehow it went under the radar pretty fast. Would love to get a new album by Steve Plunkett in whatever form (solo or Autograph)!
  24. A very recent great track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VosH84mogIA

    Crazy Lixx

Damn, I wished I'd never have the feeling of being a little disappointed with this band, but I just listened three times to each of these samples and....argh! Seriously in the sample of 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" I even had to ask myself during the first couple of seconds whether this was really Danny singing and for me that somehow sums up Chris Laney's missing magic. It's far away from being bad, but to my ears it ain't great either! Of course I'm still going to buy "Riot Avenue", but at the moment I can't see this one competing with H.E.A.T and quite a few other upcoming contenders for 'album of the year'. Any other opinions based on these samples?
