  1. Sample up at Amazon Hard to judge by 30 seconds, but to me it already sounds stronger than a lot of songs on their last album!
  2. Wow, this comes pretty much out of nowhere for me, but someone posted the news of a new Wig Wam album coming later this year over at the MelRock Noticeboard. The new single "Wall Street" is already out on February 24!
  3. From what he said on Facebook yes. I think he wants to tour much more with the new record than with his previous ones, so that's more kinda like a band now. John Berg (Ex-Dynazty) is his guitarist.
  4. Grey suggested to make a new thread for this one and I agree. Here's the press-release: One of my favourite new bands out there and definately one of my most anticipated albums this year. A download of their first single "Down at the crossroads" is available here
  5. New single up with Jeff Scott Soto sharing lead-vocals: Koritni – Down at the Crossroads One of my most anticipated albums of the year! I wonder whether this turns out to be some sort of a concept-album...
  6. Chris Laney just put up a first teaser of his upcoming third album: Chris Laney's Legion Youtube Sounds great and could very well be his best solo-effort so far!
  7. Great stuff, "Booze n Blues" is there a cd out? I don't think so! Guess they just started out very recently...
  8. Crazy D Nasty (Belgium/France) Crazy D Nasty on FB A band in the vein of Nevada Beach, Britny Fox etc
  9. I like albums best when they consist of 12 or more songs nowadays, but then it doesn't necessarily have to be 'all killer no filler' for me. Quite a few times I totally got into the so-called 'fillers' after a couple of year... Would be great to hear all '35 or so' tracks in some sort of way though. I wonder why that kinda model that Wig Wam used with 'Wig Wamania' (where you got a personalized code in the booklet for extra content on their website) never was repeated. They could put up some of the songs they didn't use for download for the fans. Anyway, I'm sure it's going to be one hell of an album!

    Crazy Lixx

That leaves me slightly worried about I thought would be a dead set killer. Fast paced songs is fine, as long as they dont ditch the killer choruses and hooks which graced the first 2 albums. Yeah, leaves me a little worried too. Although the bits and pieces in their studio-blog sounded fine, you'll never know how the finished product is going to sound.
  11. Koritni – Welcome to the Crossroads (March 12) Can't wait for this one!
  12. Here's a try to show you the way: 1) go here 2) scroll down to "11.00 - 11.30 fredag 03 feb 2012 " and click 4) now skip forward to about 14:45 5) ...and enjoy the melodic bliss! Seriously, as much as I love the first two records and Kenny, if this song is any indication of what the album is going to be like, we're in for a classic – could be their Slippery When Wet (of course not in terms of sales or worldwide popularity)! Love Erik's voice and the slightly punchier production! The intro is even more 80s sounding than their first two albums imo.
  13. So, samples are up for every track except the one they're going to participate with in Eurovision (Land of Dreams). Check 'em out here: I'm happy that it doesn't sound that much heavier...in fact it sound pretty damn good to my ears!
  14. Yeah, it's a shame! One of very few bands who actually tried to make it the old-school way through a LOT of touring...I've seen them last October and although their performance was great, their split-up doesn't surprise me that much as their "supposed to be upcoming" songs had that "we don't really know in which direction to evolve"-feeling imo. Let's hope for some new bands to emerge from this situation!
  15. Agree, fantastic job once again SUICIDE! Have you ever been approached by any current Band od Label to designe their artwork? I think your work looks better than a lot of stuff that's out there!
  16. I just played it for the first time on my stereo and although I've been anticipating this one since I first heard "Deathwish" a couple of months back, this is far beyond my expectations! Seriously, except the growls on "Love Nightmare" this is more or less a slab of modernized Hair-Metal with hints of AOR. "Rockin' all Night" could just as well have been on Danger Danger's debut: Sure it's sort of juvenile and simple, but hell I like that track a lot! Great stuff!
  17. It's available through their label's website Rising Records.
  18. I'm liking "Blood & Fire" a lot! Pleasently surprised by this one. Sounds like it could have been another 'new' track on the Best of Vol.1...never been too keen on the fast VH songs though.
  19. Very well written review there! Agree pretty much with everything you said...they should get completely rid of the screamo-parts for theur next album, but this one is already up my alley.
  20. Seems like Chris Laney wasn't involved this time, so I'm not sure if I'm going to like the new one...and I don't want them to sound any heavier to be honest. Let's wait and see!
  21. Hinder just had a short update on FB that they begun writing their new album in Nashville! So I'm pretty sure they're going to release a newbie towards the end of the year. Crashdiet should definately have an album out this year from what I've read! Actually it was planned for spring, but because of some more gigs they've played at the end of 2011 all around the world it probably is going to be out in autumn. Dynazty have pretty much finished recording their 3rd album together with Peter Tägtgren and it's going to be out around April/May! There's a video-studio diary over at youtube. I have a feeling there's going to be quite a few debut-releases from upcoming Swedish bands this year if you go by their FB-updates. Baby Jane is definately one of my most-anticipated albums! They really took their time to put it together and if it's well produced it's going to be a must-have for any Crazy Lixx or Crashdiet fan. Also it seems that Pretty Wild, Debbie Ray and Pompei Nights are going to release follow-ups this year... But there's also a LOT of new more AOR-stuff I'm looking forward to, one of them being a new Jimi Jamison album (written/produced by Erik Martensson).
  22. Babylon Bombs to my knowledge are still retired unfortunately. Some of the band-members are playing in other bands now (can't recall the names, nothing I really liked). Would love to see them getting together again or at least releasing another cd with unreleased songs and demos! Just got the Sleaszy Ride Records-Newsletter: Lipstixx'n'Bulletz have split up! So did American Bang unfortunately! Is that old school-Britny Fox record still in the cards? I surely hope so, but I doubt it... Do you or anyone else by chance know what the status of "Hell'n'Diesel" (excellent debut) and "The Galvatrons" (really liked their debut!) are? It still makes you wonder when bands manage to fall completely under the radar in this day and age... There's a lot more I'm looking forward to, mainly newer or younger bands and not so much a lot of the regrouped 80s bands you named (Trixter and Treat being the shining exceptions!)...still cool to read it though!
  23. Actually they're planning for a February release followed by tour, so if anything happens, probably going to be late for 3-4 months but should've been released this year Yeah, it is pretty much confirmed now that the album is going to be out around February 7 (depending on where you live it's the 6th or 8th)! Saw some footage over at blabbemouth where they have shown the new album cover on Times Square on New Year's Eve, so that's probably a good sign.
  24. I did start a thread on these guys but it got zero interest...probably because of the 5 seconds of rough (couldnt really call it growly) vocals in the you tube song...which is the only 5 seconds on the whole album. Overall its pretty good, worth a listen for sure. Dito, so did I haha! It's a very nice album which I also rank around 80%, with 'America' and 'Nightmare Planet' being my faves.
