    States Of Panic

Didn't sound that way to me ... each to his own though. Did my pledge and now they've made their target. First time I've done anything like this. Yeah for me it also was the first time. Nice to snatch the disc at 9£... And I think I've just become a fan of PledgeMusic 3 months is a long wait to get the CD though... Indeed, but I think there'll be enough cracking albums coming out until then to keep us entertained - we even might completely forget about it 'til it hits our mailboxes
  2. New album from these guys coming up in 2014 as reported on their FB-page - nice! I still think that their debut rocks and is one of the very best discs ever to come out of Italy.
  3. This is going to be interesting. IMO Chris Laney's involvement on their first disc was essential to make it as good as it is. Let's see how this one turns out!

  5. I agree that it's going to be interesting as to how the next album turns out, especially as Austin seems to release a solo-album in 2014. But I seem to recall that Cody Hanson mentioned that it was the record label's decision not to put more rock songs on 'Welcome...'. Anyway, I'm happy they'll continue, but I doubt they are going to top TITTL ever again.
  6. Just one of many great exclusive tracks, because as Glen mentioned there actually must be a rule considering the heap of great 'unheard' songs.
  7. Their first-ever video clip is out:
  8. Wow, I like these news!! 2014 is shaping up great...
  9. It's definately been a long time comin' for these guys, but they'll finally have their debut album out in January! And judging from these samples, it's going to be pretty good https://soundcloud.com/prettywild-2/album-preview
  10. That's 'Dorianna' by Paul Laine from his underrated 'Stick it in your Ear' album.
  11. I dont understand this logic. There is no record label, hence the reason they do this.Simple fact is, paying for the album in advance to have it made is no different to paying for it after its made. If there is no funding then there is no album. Its actually brilliant that we can do this now, not sad that its come to this. It means that bands can distance themselves from labels and actually take any money they make from sales from non pledgers when its released themselves, rather than the label take their hefty cut. The fact that it gives fans extra little bonuses and also makes a lot of people feel like they are actually part of the process, makes it even better. If people dont wanna pledge, fair enough, you will still be able to buy it later if they make the target. But if people dont pledge, no new album ... simple. People should be supporting bands if they go this route, not complaining. Lets face it, its no different to concerts. You pay for your tickets in advance, and if not enough tickets sell then the show will probably be cancelled. Yep. That's how I see it. + 1 ...and in most cases the result is worth it (e.g the new Spock's Beard disc). I think that 'Raining Rock' was a massive step forward for this band - I like it much better than their debut. Steel Panther are doing a campaign as well for their new album, which makes me wonder whether they (and Jettblack) have actually lost their major-label contracts or if this is only another way to get the fans some bonus while being sure that the album is going to sell well enough to cover its costs.
  12. As I mentioned in the Crashdiet-thread, there are some real gems on here. If you can afford it, definately worth the purchase. Someone made a teaser-video with samples from all songs, so you can judge for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxYEgvjOa6M
  13. DemonDoll has just released an album with all tracks by Pompei Nights - which means the debut plus the new EP on one disc (plus Japanese bonus track): http://www.demondollrecords.com/products/pompei-nights-high-on-adrenaline
  14. Great stuff! Hopefully they get picked up by Frontiers or another good company. The singer is definately similar to Leckremo in a very good way, although not quite on par with him imo.
  15. Wait, judging from the sound quality, I thought "The Savage Playground" WAS a collection of demos... Seriously, I was all over this. Ran to their site and prepared to get some "new" Crashdiet tunes. Then I saw the price. I"ll be damned if I'm spending $30 for a download of some demos. Yeah, I was lucky, that I had a 25% off coupon, otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought it neither. Irony aside, I actually think some of these demos sound better than 'The Savage Playground', especially the demo for 'Change the World'
  16. They have a collection of demos available for download in their shop. It includes 9 demos of songs which didn't make it onto Generation Wild and The Savage Playground plus the demo version of 'Change the World'. There are some great tracks on offer, so I'd recommend it to every Crashdiet fan on here, although it is quite pricey.
  17. I simply can not get into Vega. You guys are on your own. Heh, all of you. It appears I'm the only one what don't like 'em. No, I hear you! Vega just don't strike any chord with me at all. Although it's all very well executed it leaves me completely cold...
  18. This one is my surprise of the year (so far)! Bought the debut mainly because I wanted to support Andrew and the band and thought it was quite patchy. Their new disc on the other hand is killer imo: Immaculate production, great songs and intense melodies! Favorites so far are 'Blindhearted', 'Access Denied' and 'Coming Home', but there really isn't any average song to be found.
  19. Some of you guys might remember Backwash from a couple of years ago, as they've released their debut in 2006. Now they are back! In the meantime they underwent a couple of line-up changes, mainly they've had a replacement on vocals. Although I love their debut and I think their former singer had an excpetional voice, I gotta say this new disc rocks almost as hard (and live they've become killer - fantastic musicians!). Check the whole new album out on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/backwash-band

Judging by their FB-updates it seems like they are back in the studio recording album #4... Good stuff! I really like the fact that there are quite a lot of 'young' bands which are releasing albums on a regular basis again. Ten years ago it seemed like there were a lot of one-off bands around.
  21. Seems like these guys have a new digital-only EP out! You can check out the new songs here: http://44caliber.org/MEDIA/index.html
  22. For a second I hoped for news on this band when I saw activity in this thread. Sadly not so! Does anyone know if we can ever expect another album by these guys? I really like their debut.
  23. Quite a bit more aggressive than on their previous output...and I love it, great stuff!! Looks like 'Spirit' is going to be their best album to date imo.
  24. I think this is a really cool video with a lot of 80's movie references. Shows what can be done with next to zero budget! I really like the song as well: Feel-good modern power pop, definately 80s influenced!
  25. A quick search on the web reveales that there apparently is a 4 disc box-set in the works...nice!
