What's a spinnin' in your CD player?

TRIXTER - New Audio Machine

My first impressions on this were generous. Nice guitars, but rough vocals (what happened to this guy?) and some fucking horrible songs. Honestly, Frontiers what were you thinking signing them up? A nostalgia trip? Stuff like "Physical Attraction", "Get On It" and "Dirty Love" is just total shit. "Tattoos and Misery" is the only song that would've made it onto their first two albums (even though it's a more modern sounding tune), everything else would've been chucked in the bin. The worst album I've bought in 3 years.

Shinedown - 'Amaralysis' ; very underwhelming first spin, but we'll see...

half of it is pretty average, but half of it is classic IMO.

Destine is better tho ;-)

I'm 100% sure Destine will destroy it. Most the modern rock CDs I've heard this year already do, to be honest. :)

And I had such high hopes for it. Sound of Madness was/is phenomenal!

If you loved that you'll love this. That's my point, I don't think either are that amazing. Good modern rock, but imo they are ridiculously over-rated here and when it comes to modern rock I prefer over 50% of discs I take the time hear over these guys. :)

Spinning ;

Overland - 'Diamond Dealer'

NOW - whatever it's called

But I'm not loving Amaryllis. That's the thing. It doesnt have the same attitude. They went more melodic. I want the raw attitude back. I'm sure after a few more spins it'll sink in, but it'll never take the place of Sound of Madness.

    • So some may remember that Tyketto toured recently and aside from Forever Young, I never delved into this band. So I did, so I'd know the songs in concert and was blown away. A great band with an awesome catalog that I had missed out on. To be fair, in the 80's it was a lot harder to access and find out about a lot of the more fringe bands, that's my excuse anyway. So I now am faced with digging deeper into some other bands I've overlooked. Some of these I gave a go, and wasn't really impressed, but now I'm starting fresh with an open mind. So below is a list of bands I have eitehr never bothered with, or never really gave a proper go. Lizzy Borden is on the list and I have done a bit of their stuff and like it a lot, so I will definately dig deeper into them (I've got some older stuff and some newer stuff, but have skipped quite a few albums) But the others, fire away, tell me which bands have killer material that I'll froth and how stppid I've been to skip them. • I like the album art. I love when contemporary Glam Metal bands have album art with a genuine 80s vibe to it.
    • Nope, for a while, I used to think Rapunzel from Tangled (2010) was hot... But then I stopped being attracted to cartoon characters.
    • This is definitely the first time I've heard about it, I'll have to give it a listen!
