Great cover of their own original Heard this at the cricket tonight and realised that it had a chorus worthy of this thread

This has got to be one of the best ones ever. I, along with many of you were lucky enough to get "Operation Mindcrime" when it was first released. They truly were the glory days.

Most of that album could make this thread. I finally thought of an absolute ripper well worthy of inclusion in this thread;

Blue Tear - every chorus on the album,.       Blue Blud - long hot summer nights, sick Vikki - her body compliments the beat, of course radio bikini, Rio - Atlantic radio

Who sings Radio Bikini? Or does¬†that go along with sick Vikki or is that even a song? It's a lil confusing to read ūüėÜ

Hm... I'm gonna have to sit and think about this for a while. A few good ones come to mind, "Dying for Love," "Give Me A Sign," "Bad Blood," but are they my absolute favourites?

I rate Dying For Love very high, just a couple  inches lower than "Go"

Yeah! A hot action cop fan, me too, they bang out some catchy choruses, Feva For The Flava, Show Her, Don't Want You To Stay, just don't think many on here would dig them, probably despise them, lol

I looove Radio Bikini but from what I can remember I think I like the verses better- not sure, I'll have to hear it again, but yeah. Plus, I can't remember who it was that told me they liked it ūüėÜ

What about classic by Joe Dolce ?

Hey !!!

What an iconic Aussie song (by an American). It was everywhere at the time. I was in primary school, so as you can imagine, it was huge.

Yeah, which is a shame as there are some pretty heavy guitar moments of some stuff.
Last album was a departure, but after a few listens, just as addictive.
Most here are pretty diverse, but some bands just don't get much of a go.
Song of the year for me is The New Roses - Down By the River, but that band gets little love here as well.

Very good tune.

I've actually set myself a task to check out Hot Action Cop tomorrow. I've owned and hated one of their CDs a long time ago, but I'm going to try again for the sake of this thread.

You just gotta take them for what they are bro, their new shits almost acoustic, a huge departure from their debut, which is the one I'm sure u had and hated, didn't particularly care for that style, but the huge catchy choruses brainwashed me, pretty funny lyrics, and their singer is actually a true talent, you have to listen to the newer shit to catch it

Hot Action Cop standouts for me are

St. Tropez
Fever For The Flava --- their big hit
The Special
In A Little While --- one of the best ballads ever
Face Down --- probably my favorite, play loud, the guitars at the start are killer
Tomorrows Gotta Secret
House Of Pain --- starts acapalla, takes a bit of getting used to
Jen
Picture Me
Pull The Trigger

House of pain is bad ass, I can't remember the titles off the last 2 discs, but I love Show Her, with lyrics like this you can't go wrong,    She got me cursed like the Kennedies,
I'm trippin' like a freak,
Strokin' on her solar plexus,
Tickle behind the knee,
Giggle cause the vibrator,
It make her wanna pee,
Chickie chickie perculator,
I slip into my sheet,.                                        I love the raggae beat, catchy chorus, but their new shits completely serious, quit good, totally different band, still killer

    • A bunch of new Christmas tunes (covers and originals) to enjoy during this pandemic. ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†
    • Not inspired by Spinal Tap as both were in production at the same time & Bad News came out in 83,¬†Spinal Tap not until 84.
    • I really enjoy this band, but I have no idea who anyone is in this band. in fact that goes for amny bands these days. Maybe it's just not having the times to look it up, or maybe I just don't care that much any more lol
    • Enjoyed reading those comments as I couldn‚Äôt check the samples out until now.¬† I never judge an album on samples alone but¬†Ive played through them¬†a couple of times myself and absolutely love what I hear - big riffs, big choruses and bigger¬†production.¬† ¬† The only couple of tracks I couldn‚Äôt warm to initially was My Kaleidoskope Ark,¬†Silver Linings¬†and Hard Love. ¬† Shadows Of Eternity¬†sounds killer.. really looking forward to hearing that one in full. It has a darker ‚ÄėWalls Come Down‚Äô vibe to it. Hypnotized, Dirty Little Secret, Where Does It Hurt.. all¬†great rockers too. In terms of the more light hearted fun songs, I agree it has a more overall darker vibe, but I‚Äôd definitely put Kilimanjaro and Dirty Little Secret in that category.¬† ¬† It‚Äôs hard to get a real feel of an album after 90 seconds but this sounds really solid¬†and a huge improvement on Wall Street. Trond Holter is on fire and the album has a definite harder edge to it. Age is a class act and the production is great. So good to have these guys back, bring on January. ¬†
    • Another "Parody" band, this time from the UK. In the mid 80s, "Bad News" released an album and they were definitely influenced by "Spinal Tap". They weren't just nobodies. As with Spinal Tap's legendary pedigree, the¬†band consisted of British comedy royalty including three members of "The Young Ones", a classic 80s TV comedy. Aussies, Brits and Canadians should be familiar with it, but not so much Americans. It's a bit too much TBH. Not as subtle as Spinal Tap. ¬† ¬†
    • I'm sure most of you have seen "This is Spinal Tap". If you haven't, then I would highly suggest you do so immediately.¬† The original "Steel Panther". The second clip¬†is possibly one of the funniest music related clips ever! ¬† ¬† ¬†
    • Shannon - Let the Music Play. Not everyone's cup of tea I'm sure, but I heard it today in the supermarket and was transported back to the eighties, as I am every time I hear it. Always loved this track. ¬† ¬†
    • Cry Alone - Jimi Jamison¬†
