You Wouldn't Know Love × 3.

The Sunstorm version popped up in my rotation today.

I couldn't find my previous post on this track to bump, so here it is again.

This is a masterpiece of a track proven by the fact that three legends have chosen to sing it.

All three are great, but IMO, Michael Bolton's is still the best.

I think the ultimate version would be Bolton's vocals with the Sunstorm music.

That's a big call, because it means replacing JLT on vocals, but I stand by it.

I'm sure we're all aware of the Toni Basil version, but I just found out today that it was a cover.

Amazing.

"Racey" were great BTW and had some great hits.

Agreed. That accent does work well while chocking on gherkin however.

I think you meant "choking MY gherkin".

Choking ON gherkin, has a completely different meaning.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

You do you, brother.

Maybe its a "across the pond" delta but to have her chocking on my pole seems a really good thing or as you mentioned she also my kung fu grip my shaft and choke that fucker also.

So what is the alt meaning you are referencing?

My apologies Sir.

I misinterpreted your comment.

I agree, her accent would be better if she was choking on my gherkin also.

Although, in my case of course, it would be a cucumber.

Bon Jovi - The Boys Are Back in Town.

From the "Navy Seals" soundtrack apparently.

I don't think I was aware of this.

Not as good as the original though.

Probably been mentioned above somewhere, but I was showing a couple of my kids Falling To Pieces - Faith No More, Then Epic and Ashes to Ashes, then Easy came up.

Easy really is an amazing cover.

Some bands just do great covers. Midnight Cowboy and War Pigs are also good FNM covers.

Was listening to Blue Tears today and Forever Yours played.
Pretty sure that Michaels Sweet recorded it first, but they both have writing credits.
That said I'm pretty sure it was on a Blue Tears album that was a collection of historic tracks, so maybe they recorded it first and then MS did it later.
Bother great versions.

Yeah man, you'd assume that was written and recorded by Blue Tears somewhere between 1990-1992, recorded by Sweet in 1994 with a tweak here and there for a songwriting credit. But defo an original BT song.

Year that's what I thought.
MS version is a little cleaner, and of course his vocals are pretty on point, but still a great version

Candlebox - Turn Me Loose ( Loverboy Cover)

Nailed it...

That was a very competent cover. Not a lot of Loverboy love/covers out there and there should be, quite a great band.

1 aside, why have your wife singing? I mean just because you want a BJ doesn't warrant that, its your fault you put a ring on it don't punish the world.

Absolutely Love this...

oooooh, I hate it.

The song itself is ok. Probably way to AOR for me, but I can live with it.

What I hate is how song that song is to sing like Sammy did. Saw him live once and he gave a run down on why he rarely plays it live. He talked about the register he got to and why an idiot he was because he set himself a near impossible task to sing it live. And how it takes so much from his voice to get to where he needs to get to and it drains him etc etc
He then sung it, and did a great job. Then he explained how lucky we all were to hear it the original way as he was basically only doing acoustic versions from now on.

So the song about, whilst ok, is safe and sung in an average range and is done easy.
What I love about the song is the way Sammy sung it, knowing the lengths he went to so that it was special.

Divinyls - Back to the Wall.

A legendary Aussie band with many hits.

This track would come close to my favourite. Maybe tied with "All the Boys in Town".

I heard this cover by Paul Dempsey from another solid Aussie Pop/Rock band called "Something For Kate" on the radio last week.

I've mentioned it before, but imagine being able to stand up with an acoustic guitar and pull this out.
