I'm looking for something new to check out so thought maybe seeing some people's best of 2015 lists would help as I don't see too much more coming that will change things much. I like lists like this as it helps see what I've missed...

I haven't bought too much in 2015 as it's been busy and I've gotten much more picky in my old age....or I just know where my tastes lie...So I know my list is a bit limited as I really haven't tried all that much. I do need something new to try though...Thinking maybe Armageddonize from Eclipse as I skipped that album....

My personal favorite albums are:

1) Def Leppard - S/T - I know many here were down on it but I liked it.

2) H.e.a.t - Live In London - Not sure a live album should count but love it and these guys are probably my favorite band going right now.

3) Station - S/T - excellent debut album that fits my tastes perfectly

4) Trixter - Human Era - Solid effort that again fits my tastes well

Interested to see some other's lists for ideas on stuff that I should be checking out based upon my tastes.

Eclipse and Find Me are 2 I've had my eye on. Which do you think is better for somebody like me that is a H.e.a.t fan?

Or does something else fit better?

That's tough, Eclipse is a little harder than H.E.A.T but still very melodic. I'd say go with Eclipse. Do you know/have Art Nation?

Yeah lol. If you are a HEAT fan just get Art Nation....virtually a carbon copy.

No...never heard of Art Nation....might have to check that out.

I just have been going back through the 205 thread link that Peter posted above...lots of good discussion there.

Eclipse is a band I keep trying to get into but something just hasn't clicked. By all accounts, I should like them as their music has all the elements I like...

I'm basically between Degreed or Eclipse for something on the heavier side and maybe Find Me or Care of Night on the slightly lighter side.

Wow mate, interesting list there, to say the least. Is that everything you heard from the whole year?

I bought a grand total of 8 (!) 2015 releases this year, and I haven't had a couple of those (Armored Saint and W.A.S.P.) long enough to give them more than one or two spins. So check back with me in a week or two, I guess :rofl2:

For now, my top three of the year would be:

Raven - Extermination

Queensryche - Condition Human

Stryper - Fallen

Thanks Geoff. Your lists are very cool and complete. I take a look to them before doing my favorites of 1989 and 1996.

Well the 24 I've listed above, I have listened to them carefully. I've forgotten about Angra -The secret garden, I saw them live and take a picture with Felipe.

Like Fat Freddy I must listen to W.a.s.p ,Armored saint and also Stryper (I don't like " pride" very much).

Now I'm listening Degreed, very cool stuff (many people here love them, I think they could be the "winners" ).

I've tried Care of the night, good but lighter than what I am used to, like Cats in space and Toto.

I saw you like Issa, she looks good(for my taste) and she is very kind , I've meet her at Frontiers fest, but I'm not a fan of her voice.

Still haven't heard Shiraz Lane. Do I need to?

I'll check it out before I finish my ratings.

Oh yeah, think TNT meets Skid Row, and forget the The Darkness comparisons. "Mental Slavery" is the best track I've heard all year.

Nice...I obviously missed out on this release...where is it available?

    • Just as a heads-up, FNAC (France) is blowing out the CD version for 72,99 euros: https://www.fnac.com/a17131710/Guns-N-Roses-Use-Your-Illusion-I-et-II-Edition-Limitee-Coffret-Super-Deluxe-CD-album For those in the USA, the shipping is reasonable. Removing the VAT and adding shipping made the total US$77.90 delivered. At that price, I figured it was worth a flyer. It just was delivered today via DHL, 7 days from placing order to delivery, in an oversized box with custom foam inserts to keep it from getting damaged in transit. The thing is fucking huge and heavy. At the original price, or even the current Amazon price of US$196, I would say HELL NO, but at this price, I think it's worth it.
    • I LOVE the callback to the debut in that artwork. Beautiful!
    • Glamfest is done. Couldn't make it financially viable. But their Facebook page promoted the potential tyketto tour. Not sure if they are handling the tour or just doing a nice thing. Time will tell. Didn't know The Used had been out before, missed that in the past. Hopefully I'll be around when they come out and can catch them.maybe they will support tyketto?
    • Is Glamfest meant to happen again? I’m assuming probably definitely not… well at least not same time as it was last couple of years. That’s a shame.    The Used used to come out all the time for stuff like Soundwave and Warped tour and stuff, if I recall correctly. Haven’t seen them for several years now, and they haven’t put out much music in that time either. Couple of good cuts on their latest album, though.
    • Tyketto returning to Australia. Also The Used coming out here. Both tours teased but not announced yet.
    • I watched the videos today... I dunno what to make of it. On one hand I don't think it's worth all the fuss, but I guess it gets a bit awkward due to the fact he is an actual vocal coach. Not a great look but I guess this is what happens these days. Just maybe not quite as common amongst vocal coaches, though...
    • I might try V4 again when I get credits again, but like I said above, also a bit keen to finish all the V3.5 stuff with V3.5. In saying that, though, I would be sad if V4 got good while I wasn't watching and did myself a disservice.  100% with you on that remaster wish. If they could accomplish that it would be dreamy. I still have so, so many results that are really cool, but I'm so down on the audio quality that I don't know what to do with them. Continually trying to cover them doesn't seem to work 99% of the time, plus you lose the end and have to recreate the entire end to the song.  Like you say, just to be able to keep everything about the song as it is, but get an awesome new remaster; it'd be perfect.  Haha, I was just thinking today I need to fix up my bandcamp page, lol. I put a band pic on there but wrote immediately underneath that it was just to create a vibe... but I haven't used it anywhere else and realised it wasn't an avenue I'll be pursuing.  Thanks! Yeah, I must admit that back when I was writing all those lyrics I always thought that one day I'd put the effort in, learn guitar and at least create some basic versions of those songs. That, of course, faded through the years, but this is the most ideal case scenario for someone in this position.  I still think most of my 200 tunes will probably remain unreleased, but I don't know. I go back and forth with it. Right now, just trying to sort through my 2001 songs and there's way more than one album from these sessions I'll want to release. If I could get the audio where I want it, possibly as many as three albums from just the 2001 sessions I'd be happy to release... but still all baby steps. Still several 2001 tracks I've not yet completed as I can't find them in my Library, lol. Even after cleaning it up a bit...  But yeah, I have always loved music a lot. I always said my three passions in life were photography, surfing and music but the music one always seemed a bit silly as it was just my love for listening to it, but it's awesome to finally get something tangible out of this love of mine too. I actually already miss writing new tunes while I'm trying to clear this whole backlog - cannot wait until I can just concentrate on the new stuff. I think some of my new songs from this year are actually pretty good - pretty "personal," though, which will be interesting to see how I handle when the time comes... Hmmm, tight. I thought I preferred #1 but back to back maybe the new one just edges it out, for me. I do like the chorus in V2 better. Two nice results, though.
