CDInzane... a bunch of disorganized wingnuts.

Recommended Posts

Just got done dealing with the LAST order I will ever place from CDInzane.com. They ignore anything in the "special instructions" field of the order. They randomly change and delete orders from their online system. I just got done arguing with them on a preorder that I never ordered, and they kept insisting that the reason it didn't show up in the online database was because I ordered over the phone... when I've never ordered over the phone with them in my life. All my orders have been online.

They do a lot of fast talking and backtracking. Everything is YOUR fault.

Stay away.

I agree completely, stay away from these people at all costs. Two years ago I won a CD from them on eBay, and they sent me an invoice, which I thought was too high. I sent a nice friendly email asking about the price, and the next thing I know, I got a negative feedback from them! Over 1700+ positive feedbacks, and they're my only negative, and for no friggin' reason! :2up: Their excuse was that I 'bothered' them with emails, when they're just too busy with all of their other auctions. They're located here in MN and I was sorely tempted to go stake out their PO box and give them a piece of my mind.

I have known Zane on a semi personal level for a few years. I used to shop at his store but have stopped.

I really dont agree with his business ethics at all. He has this scam where he offers CD's he doesnt even have in stock. He tricks you into the order so you're committed to your purchase with him.

I used to jump the gun because he was the 1st store offering a new release. By the time I got my discs other online vendors got them in stock and I could have gotten them quicker.

I dont use CD Inzane anymore either. I stick with NEH records, Sentinel Steel, The End Records, for the most part.

Also recommend The End Records, although I wish they stocked a bit more melodic rock stuff. I realize that it's not their bread and butter, but as long as they're stocking the Frontiers stuff, they might as well stock some of the other labels.

I don't buy from NEH simply because I can usually find the stuff cheaper elsewhere. They've gotten pricier over the last few years.

I just made my first order from Sentinel Steel in about 3 years (I keep forgetting about them, and I really shouldn't), and it was filled and shipped very fast. Quite reasonable shipping as well ($4.75 per order regardless of number of discs).

These guys are f*cking ridiculous. With all the excitement in the world I went to the site and they're selling Crashdiet's 'Rest in sleaze' for an awesome $13.95 - plus they have the new one at a decent price, as well as Ted Poley's newie and I was going to throw in Wildkard for $12 too. So I go to check-out and they want us$10 for the first CD, and $3 for every motherf*cking CD afterwards!!! us$19 to ship 4 CDs??? Am I in the f*cking twilight zone or something? When did America move to another solar system or something??? Or is it me? Is Australia no longer part of the world? I'm f*cking amazed... and not in a good way. Absolutely f*cking ridiculous.

EDIT: Okay, I just sent off a question and got a reply that they're closed until 19th of October. I bet this is something people have talked about but I've missed completely. :(

I think they closed down and went to Progpower USA 8 in atlanta last weekend. I've only ordered maybe 3 disc from them and they were all pre-orders as they seem to always have new releases listed before any other sites. Never had any problems with those orders.

I second that! Absolute top-notch all over!

Just received my first order from Sentinel Steel. What fantastic service---placed the order on a Thursday and received it the next Monday. They were the 2 Sacred Rite cds from their own label. Great packaging, plus he threw in mini posters of the album artwork.

All vendors, ebayers, etc... should take a lesson from Sentinel Steel about customer service.

Looks like Zane is making a lot of "friends" over at MR.com. First, you had this back in Feb:

http://forums.melodi...389656&t=389656

Now followed up with:

http://forums.melodi...396224&t=396224

and:

http://forums.melodi...396299&t=396299

Wow. He makes a post on his website about a situation between he and MR.com/Andrew and then when one of his remaining customers sees it and posts about it on MR.com, he bans them? WTF?

***EDIT: And now a response:

http://forums.melodicrock.com/phorum33/read.php?f=1&i=396332&t=396332

Evidently, the original post was from a newsletter, and not from the CD Inzane site. OK, still, to think that someone wasn't going to mention this on MR.com was more than a bit naive.

Maybe 5 yrs. ago, close to it anyway, carried on a great conversation and order over the phone with Zane. At that point I was a regular customer placing orders at least once a month. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks and nothing. Right at the 4th week I sent an email inquiring about the order. I guess it was his wife that proceeded to blast me for not checking sooner and saying there was no record of the order. After a couple of choice emails I never, or will ever, placed another order with them.

This CDInzane must be an idiot, he's pissed off both Dan here at HH and now Andrew at Melodicrock.com. Never did business with them and never will.

After having read through these threads, I have to state that Zane has only served to hurt his business by sending that email out in the first place (which I also received, by the way.) Then he has continued to lose potential customers by behaving like a little boy who does not get his way.

Sorry, but that's how I see it, Zane/CDInzane. If you (speaking to Zane and his reps) choose to label my comments as "Defamation of Character," as you characterized Max's statements over on MR.com, then shame on you. You really need to grow up.

One thing of note: Andrew of MR.com mentions two other companies who requested to be at the event:

"Two other retail businesses also asked if they could be involved at the show and I declined those requests also. Both businesses - Impulse Music and Nightmare Records replied immediately, appreciated what I was going to do and wished me every success for the event. Very classy."

While I have never dealt with Impulse Music, I have to agree that Lance King of Nightmare Music is a class act and I heartily endorse shopping there.

wow, i've never had even a small problem with cdinzane. i always order all my european import stuff from them at great prices, and 2.99 for the 1st CD and 1.00 for each additional is cheap imo. i've talked with Zane a few times on the phone and he is always cool and helpful, seems like a great guy to me. now if you get one of his workers on the phone, the can sometimes sound aloof about whats going on.

the only thing odd that happened when i was dealing with them was i sent a short email saying i didn't like the sound quality of a Live DVD i received and thought they would want to know, it wasn't their fault, it was the way the band recorded it/mixed/whatever. anyways a girl ( name forgotten) emailed me back saying they had nothing to do with the production of the albums they sell...DUH...yeah i knew that, just thought they ( zane) would like to know it sucked on a personal level. i wasn't looking for a refund or exchange or anything. anyways other than that odd email, i still continue to order ALL my pre-orders from Zane and the stuff always arrives here on official release date :party421:

wonder why they (MRF) would turn down sponsoship of any sort? do they have more money than they need already to put on this festival? just makes no sense, unless another sponsor demanded no competiton be allowed?

Problems with Impulse has been well documented on this site.

While I haven't had as many issues as some others I have had some problems in the past and haven't ordered from them for quite some time.

They never turned any "sponsoship," go read Andrew's statement on MR front page and you will find out.

Seems to me like a lot of mixed reviews regarding zane/cdinzane. My experience is when there are mixed reviews that is usually not a good thing. I think I'll avoid.

Thanks for the other sites listed, I was not aware of a few of them.

Established in 2022 by the visionary frontman Aviroop Basu, the band's inception signaled the emergence of a musical force destined to captivate audiences worldwide. In December 2022, Fire In The Rodeo unveiled their maiden opus, the demo single "Back for More." This inaugural offering showcased their mastery over their chosen genres and provided a tantalizing glimpse into their musical prowess. Building upon the fervor ignited by their debut, the band resounded once again in July 2023 with their second single, "Ready To Fight." With this release, they cemented their status as a rising musical powerhouse, earning fervent accolades from aficionados and critics alike.   Fire In The Rodeo's artistic genesis draws inspiration from the illustrious lineage of Kix, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Motley Crue, among other luminaries. Such influences seamlessly intertwine within their compositions, resulting in a harmonious synthesis of sonic excellence. A defining hallmark of their artistry lies in their reverence for the 80s era of rock 'n' roll—a golden age that continues to resonate deeply within their musical ethos. By infusing modern nuances into this revered soundscape, Fire In The Rodeo conjures a distinctive auditory experience that marries the classic with the contemporary.   Their sonic tapestry is woven with roaring anthemic guitars, percussive rhythms that reverberate through the soul, and guitar riffs that scorch with undeniable intensity. Aviroop Basu's vocals ascend to extraordinary heights, delivering a high-octane performance that transcends musical boundaries. The band's chorus lines, irresistibly catchy and persistently memorable, have an uncanny ability to embed themselves within the listener's consciousness—a testament to the compositional brilliance they wield.   Amidst their meteoric ascent, Fire In The Rodeo solidified their trajectory by signing a landmark worldwide deal with the esteemed record label Lions Pride Music in 2023. This milestone paves the way for the much-anticipated release of their debut album in February 2025—an event that promises to redefine the contemporary rock landscape. As the journey of Fire In The Rodeo unfolds, their music serves as a tribute to an era bygone, a testament to the evolution of sound, and a testimony to the enduring allure of rock 'n' roll.

    • I just stumbled across this power trio.... not too bad at all. The vocalist reminds me of a cross between Lex Koritni and Chris Cornell in some tunes. Nice production and good sound.
