I'm actually reading a NEW book for the first time in who knows how long... a World War II era spy/espionage story set on a trans-atlantic cruise ship called "The Final Crossing," written by someone named Harvey Ardman... it's quite good so far. Picked it up at a yard sale some time ago and it's been sitting on my shelf saying "PSST! Read me!" ever since, glad I finally got round to it...

Ordeal by Linda Lovelace

i know this name, wasnt she the porn star that was in Deep Throat?

Indeed she was. She later became an avid anti-porn activist during the 80s. She claimed that she was "forced" to do all of her adult film work either by being plied with drugs or being threatened at gun point...

If memory serves, she died in an auto accident some time ago...

(Sorry if that ruined the end of the book for ya Geoff...!)

Haha... it actually kind of did. :)

 I don't care, though. It'll be a while before I get to that one. It was the only one that had arrived during my holiday from a massive order I'd made.

Reading now:

'Adrian Mole and the weapons of mass destruction' - Sue Townsend

  • 2 weeks later...

I just finished reading 'Adrian Mole and the weapons of mass destruction', which is, sadly, the final book in the series. Extra sad because the reason there will be no more is because the author, Sue Townsend is actually now blind. Very sad story.

Either way, a quote from the last page is "Happy people don't keep diarys."

How painfully true.

Finished the aforementioned "Revenge" by Noel Hynd the other night... pretty cool, nasty, violent globe trotting action/adventure story

Tonite I plan to move on to a horror/sci-fi short story anthology called "From Time To Terror" that I've had laying around for a while... authors include Dean Koontz, Robert Heinlein, Clive Barker, and many others...

About the midpoint in The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman.

Nice lil' series so far if you like LOTR and Harry Potter this should float your boat.

Don't see what the jesus crispies got all up in arms about when the movie (The Golden Compass) came out though?

Yeah, I have a diary... or as I prefer to call it, a journal spanning many, many years. I only stopped writing it when I met my wife. Either way, that's why I can confirm the truth behind the quote. :(

Really enjoying this one... getting towards the end. Awesome concept I'm engulfed in.
