"Thor" (2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2i1EzQyL324

Marvel Comics' Thunder God is banished to earth in order to learn some humility, which gives his evil half brother Loki a chance for a hostile takeover of the Asgardian realm. Fun stuff.

No comments on recent movies (except REAL STEEL, great family movie), but I have been watching some ABBOTT & COSTELLO SHOW dvds and enjoing them. I don't recall the show growing up, but I always liked their movies and shorts.

HEIST (2001)

a crime/robbery movie, great acting by Danny DeVito and Gene Hackman, but the movie is quite average. The plot is predictable, the double-cross element didn't have a lot of impact to the overall, but not bad, even though I'm not really interested to watch it again, no wonder it didn't do well and sold below the production budget.

REAL STEEL (2011)

much better than I expected, I thought it's going to be some stupid robotic movie but then yeah it's a great family drama with some great Rocky-boxing-action, but with robots :D

The adjustment Bureau

[enjoyed this one - good unusual flick with a sci-fi element]

I agreed with Barack Obama's quote on this one. "So, Matt Damon doesn't think I'm doing a good job of running the country. Well the other night I watched 'The Adjustment Bureau', so right back 'atcha buddy".

"Evil Dead 2" (1987)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CKer1iM0xQ

Hilarious "splat-stick" sequel stars Bruce Campbell as the square-jawed good guy Ash, who's holed up at a secluded cabin in the woods with some unlucky tag-alongs, fighting off an invasion of "dead-ites."

More like a series of gory Three Stooges skits than an actual movie, but it's so much damn FUN!

Two over the last coupla days:

"Unknown" (2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uakoUpfoWfA&feature=player_embedded

While in Berlin for a summit conference, Liam Neeson awakens after a car accident to find out he's seemingly been "replaced" - there's a new guy claiming to be him hanging out with his wife, and he seems to know everything about him. Is Liam crazy or is something more sinister going on?

Pretty cool suspense thriller, had some twists & turns that kept me interested.

"Ghost Story" (1981)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hko5v3mels

A quartet of elderly New Englanders have been covering up a dark secret for fifty years... and it doesn't want to stay secret anymore.

Cool, creepy '80s flick based on the Peter Straub novel features a great cast, including Fred Astaire (!), John Houseman, Melvyn Douglas and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. as the tormented oldsters, and Alice "Borg Queen" Krige as the restless spirit.

I haven't seen this movie since I was about 12 years old and have been looking to re-visit it for several years now. I remembered very little of the film except for the fact that it SCARED the LIVING CRAP out of me back then, I swear I didn't sleep for three days the last time I saw it. Haha.

Looking at it 30 years later the "scary" parts barely made me blink, but I did say to myself "Oh yeah, this part got me bad when I was a kid" several times. Haha.

I expected so much more from this movie. didn't think it was awful but wasn't a really good movie either.

DOA: Dead Or Alive - ok, not the best movie out there but the eye candy is turned up to 10. btw, i really liked the video game back in the day

Drive - was a bit let down by this one. I thought it would have been more action packed. it was an ok watch but my expectations probably was something the movie wasn't

The Reef - ended up fast forwarding through a lot of it just to see the finish.

THE HELP (2011)

a bitter drama about racism and about a book written by white female about black maids that work for the white people. I think the acting were very good but recommended only if you like drama and this type of movie. While I don't think it's as great as 8/10 at IMDB, I think this one's a good movie.

The Way Back - decent film about a bunch of POW's trekking half the world, based on a true story. Not magnificent, but a good movie.

"DinoCroc vs. SuperGator" (2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEV8Fz7xpYI

SyFy Channel nonsense in which the two title creatures - the massive results of an illegal experiment - break out of a Hawaiian research facility and run amuck chomping on a bunch of hot chicks in bikinis. The only people who can stop them are a nerdy Government agent, a wildlife conservation officer in short shorts, and a big game hunter.

It must be noted that there was no "vs." action between the two critters till the last five minutes of the film.

The late David Carradine earns a quick paycheck as the evil head of the corporation that created the monsters.

Not an Asylum flick, but it might as well have been, cuz it borrows their formula to a tee.

I was never really a fan of this or the third film, the original Evil Dead is still the classic scary tongue in cheek horror film, looks like a remake is on the way too.

I like the sound of Unknown and Ghost Story I enjoyed in the early 80`s but not sure if I`ve seen it since, it was creepy back then
