Freddy, glad you pulled this thread out of the basement. It's been a while since anyone has posted. I'll be off @ 2:00pm tomorrow and vacation will start. That includes tunes, beers and more tunes and beers. This is what is on ice at the moment:

Ringing in 2013 with a 22 oz. bottle of Double Bastard Ale from Stone Brewing.

stone-double-bastard-2006.png

... this is the "big brother" of their famed Arrogant Bastard Ale, this stuff is 11.2% and DAAAAAAAAAMN the first sip was so hoppy that it damn near took my head off. After a couple of swigs, though, I'm getting used to it (either that or my taste buds have been burnt off, hahaha).... this is definitely a "sipper," not something to gulp. I'm already feelin' it and I have half the bottle to go yet.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Just in case you need a reason to drink some beer tonight:

Today (Jan. 24th) is Beer Can Appreciation Day, commemorating the fact that on this date in 1935, the Krueger Brewing Company of Newark, NJ (yay Jersey) became the very first brewer to offer its product in cans.

i wasn't aware that liking alcohol was a prerequisite for being metal.

Heh, no. The only prerequisite for being metal is having a pulse. Alcohol is simply a nice compliment.

Stella Artois for me tonight... the beer store had these pint bottles on sale for 2.25 apiece so I figured I'd give it a whirl
