If you like these, I'm pretty sure you'll like the last album Firesign. It was my #1 album of 2018.

I personally think they are very different to these two tracks. Just all pointless power metal, more or less one tempo from start to end of previous albums.

Anyway, I'm not into the new tune. Reminds me a lot of Kissin' Dynamite actually.

I like Dynazty and Kissin' Dynamite, but both bands (for me) are of the type where you go in to a new album knowing that it's going to take repeated listens before songs start to stand out and that it will generally be worth it.
Probably two of the heavier bands I listen to new material from these days.

I still don't get the "power metal" comparison for Dynazty... we must have different definitions of what power metal is. To me, that term implies Stratovarius, Running Wild, Freedom Call, Grave Digger, Angra, Dragonforce, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Blind Guardian, etc.

Dynazty has far more of a hard rock foundation than heavy metal, IMO.

P.S. For many of us, a Kissin' Dynamite comparison would be a positive, not a negative. :)

Haha, I actually liked a handful of songs off the last KD album. Overall, though, I just don't dig their style at all.

I don't think Dynazty is pure power metal as such, but it's just that same constantly fast paced, one dimensional vibe I just really dislike. To each their own, but like I said many times, those last few albums just seem like one constant song to me. Same tempo, same operatic vocals and lyrics and no discernible hooks or melodies... that I can hear anyway. ;)

But maybe I'm being harsh. Who knows. I just know I liked their first three albums and then all of a sudden they just stopped recording creative songs and recorded a single song for the next three albums in a row.

Listening through right now, although not on an ideal set of headphones. The ballad "Hologram" is a monster.

Presence of mind: Great song, maybe a bit slow an dark as an opener.

Paradise of the architect: This is what I missed on Firesign. The chorus is better than any chorus Avantasia has ever released, it's definitely a 10/10 and I only know 1:05 of this song.

The black: Sounds even better than the grey, just a fun hard rock song.

From sound to silence: Verses are good, I don't really need growls in the second verse, the chorus feels like a failed puzzle but maybe it'll grow.

Hologram: I have to wait for the full track, right now it doesn't catch me, I don't like those heavy ballads.

Heartless madness: Killer chorus, great beat, the only thing I don't like is the main riff being the chorus-vocal-melody.

Waterfall: Again a great beat, I prefer the happy fun Dynazty over the melancholic Dynazty but this track is ok for me.

Threading the needle: Strong vocals, great melodies, killer chorus, somehow there's some magic in this song.

The man and the elements: I love what the guitarbagpipes do but the vocal melodies are a bit overshadowed by that.

Apex: Typical Dynazty song, reminds me of 'Run Amok', growls are not as present as the clean vocals, that's good. I really like that track.

The road to redemption: I don't really know where the road is leading me, it teases a highlight in the chorus but there is none, maybe redemption comes in the second half of the song.

The dark delight: I'll have to wait for the full song cause there are too many little pieces I can't put together yet.

Feels like a very strong album and they found their energy again after losing it on Firesign a bit.

Interesting, I thought Firesign was their best album since Sultans Of Sin.
Look forward to hearing this one.

Well, that's just foolishness.

What exactly? That I like the style of the song and the chorus?

I am one of those who prefer their style on Knock You Down and Sultans over the direction they've gone in with the last few albums.  I thought the initial promo tracks for this one sounded solid so I gave the album a spin.  Not bad, but at the end of the day none of the tracks really grabbed me like those earlier releases.

Gave this a listen last night.

Certainly got that euro theatrical feel to it.

I mean I'll find a few nice songs on it, but for me, they are getting very close to the WASP amount of double bass drum.
This is what killed WASP for me eventually.
And before that I loved the double bass drum, but once WASP made album after album flooded with it I started to hate it :(

    • If his actions and words weren't so harmful I would have no problem with him. Such a great source of entertainment. But an absolute fucktard. I don't like our leader, either, but at least Canada's not gonna burn any time soon.
    • You seriously think we are on the same scale of racism as some Americans? We have the same issues? I'm a Swans fan, I know all about the racism taht exists here. I was at games where Adam Goodes was booed because he advocated Aboriginal rights publicly as Australia Of teh Year. I saw the worst in people making crude comments on Facebook and the like. What I didn't see was rioting in teh streets nationwide. Not for any AFL player, not for black deaths in custody (and we've had them), not for anything What is happening in the US is (somewhat) a result of years of frustration with persecution and different sets of rules. They are dealing with 13% of a black population compared to our 3%. You mentioned Dandenong, and hell, yeah, I can see a lot of racism coming out of there, but I still don't see what is going on in the US.
    • I agree the politically correct assholes pick apart everything you say and do so they can negatively label you...BUT lets not forget the right because they enable every racist, sexist , homophobe and xenophobe in America....
    • I just saw the most awkward thing ever...Trump holding up a bible. What a fucking douchebag! He’s such a joke but damn he’s entertaining and cracks me up. So happy he’s not my leader.
    • Give me a break, There is racism in Australia. AFL had stamp it out after that incedent with Nicky Winmar. People who don't listen and  keep up abusing the player with their filthy mouth , get their membership, if they are member, suspend. With virus going around, I was on the 901 bus to Dandenong there was a guy yelling at any Asian getting on the " Where's your mask ? ".
    • Angry - Vixen
    • In memory of Sally Cato Smashed Gladys - Social Intercourse
    • just imagine any kind of expression you had in opposition to anything, no matter how valid it was, the second you said it, you were automatically a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, and then you were blasted for being that until you were stiffled into silence, thats what the left here does, and the tops about to blow off,
