Looking to explore AOR

Recommended Posts

I'm fairly new to the genre of AOR and would like for people to recommend me albums that they may think that I would like

My favorite artists are:

Early Queen

Robby Valentine

Valensia

Mark Lee

and City Boy

I also like more classic AOR like Strangeways and Toto

Metropolis - "The Power of the Night" is a monster AOR disc. Definitely a MUST to listen to.

Harem Scarem - Harem Scarem

Start with that one.

I agree 100% with him! I can't believe I just wrote that.

Survivor - Vital Signs

Journey - Escape

those two are part of the Holy Bible of AOR releases

Just calm down, and breathe. You'll be alright.

Don't know half the bands YOU mentioned :D but try british band FM, especially their first two albums ''Indiscreet'' and ''Though It Out''

Robby Valentine sounds a lot like Queen. So does Valentine. And so does Queen. So, BR2 clearly loves Queen.

To the original poster...Ever looked into the band Work of Art?

Think their Framework album was pretty highly thought of in AOR circles.

Truu! But "In Progress" was streets ahead. And then Jez will say that "Artwork" was greater yet.

Bro dont listen to these guys, they all are in all these bands their trying to sell you, so they get a cut of you buying it, if you wanna start with smooth classy AOR, everyone knows you go with Bernie LaBarge Bargin In, that is truly the best starting point to shove your AOR fiending cash!!

Am I tripping, or is that version of 'Stranger than love' (an official video?) quite a different mix to the album version?

YES! Work of Art - very cool band. What about White Widdow?

Can't stand Jules voice.
