From FB:

Finnish band called OD was founded based on drummer Ossi "OD" Sivula's longtime dream of creating a record full of melodic rock, in 2012.

First demos were put together working with several musicians and next few years flew by creating big melodies and searching for the soul and inspiration of the band.
In 2014 the core group was joined by bassist Kim Tee, with whom Ossi has been working as a technician for the finnish rock group Brother Firetribe, and Juice Wahlsten, a long time friend and guitarist from another finnish rock band Ancara.

The big voice was the last missing piece to create the big bang and Brazilian "Zorro", Dan Vasc was found late fall in 2014.

Ossi was amazed after watching a video in youtube where Dan showed off his deep voice and high range vocals and after only 3 hours the first demo song was done! After working through internet for a few months Dan's first ever flight tickets were booked to finish the record in Finland and to finally bring the band infront of the live audiences.

Stay tuned to hear more of what's coming!

They've been signed to Frontiers Records:

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of another hot new young band from the Melodic Rock underground: OD!

OD hails from Finland and will be releasing their debut album via Frontiers in 2016.

The band was originally put together by drummer Ossi "OD" Sivula in 2012 based on his longtime dream of creating a record full of melodic rock ass kickers. The first demos were put together with several musicians and the next few years flew by as time was spent creating big melodies and searching for members that would round out the soul and inspiration of the band.

In 2014, the band was joined by guitarist Juice Wahlsten, and later – in 2015 – by bassist Ilari Hämäläinen. A big voice was the last missing piece to create the big bang they were looking for and a Brazilian guy, "Zorro" Dan Vasc was found in the latter half of 2014. Ossi was amazed after watching a video where Dan showed off his deep voice and high range vocals and knew he was the singer they were looking for! After working on music long distance via the internet for a few months, Dan's flight tickets were booked so he could come in to finish the band’s recordings in Finland and to finally take the band out in front of live audiences.

“We couldn’t have hoped for a better company than Frontiers to work with as they have a strong and stable reputation with classic rock acts that has been a huge impact for OD’s music as well,” tells the band. “As we are finishing the debut album, we are eagerly looking for the future and getting front of live audiences to spread the word of classic melodic rock. Stay tuned, this is only the beginning!!”

Musically OD is very close to their Finnish mates Brother Firetribe, with a slight heavier edge.

Sounds great to me. Vocalist not amazing, but love the first and third songs and the middle one is okay (weak chorus). Definitely looks like something worth checking out, though.

Some nicely done stuff. Sorry to hear of the Frontiers connection, wish they would have stayed indie.

Very curious why you say something like that mate? What's the reason?

Signed with Frontiers you'd hope they'll be able to have a well produced product that will reach a much wider audience and hopefully expand the possibility of future albums if they go well.

Staying indie, they might never even get to release an album (for a variety of reasons); it'd probably sound like shit, production-wise, it'd be impossible to get and probably only reach an audience of 15 people.

Sorry mate, not having a dig at all as you clearly know 100% more about the subject than I, but I find your comment very curious and genuinely want to know the reasoning behind it.

I see it a bit different and based on some feedback from bands that have experienced the label, maybe the dyi approach is a better business case.

All speculative of course and it's my opinion, but I don't think a label such as Frontiers is going to get a never to be known outside a very niche market band anymore recognition than they wouldn't get on their own hitting up the many sites that cater to this genre. You Maybe you may see a "better" produced effort but what's lost in that endeavor?

From FB:

A note from the band OD: due to scheduling conficts, OD had to part ways with their singer Dan Vasc.It was nice ride while it lasted and we wish all the best for Dan in his future projects.

We got many excellent singers looking for opportunity to join the band and we would like them all for their interest towards OD.

Now here is the big news: the new singer of OD is none other than mr. André Linman!

André Linman is a 23-year old singer, guitarist and songwriter who is best known for having been the frontman of finnish hard rock/heavy metal band Sturm und Drang!

Sturm und Drang rose to fame in Finland when the members were only 15-16 years old. Between 2007 and 2013 the band released three albums receiving two finnish gold records and one platinum record. They have also toured Europe and Japan and sold over 100.000 records worldwide.

Everyone is very excited about this collaboration and eagerly working to get the album done with him.

Soon you will be hearing the first songs recorded with Andre, there will be killer tunes for you all to listen, so keep on rockin´!

I guess that's pretty cool news. A shame because Sturm and Drang were getting pretty good there and are no doubt defunct now, but good news for this band. Hopefully it's a grand new union.

You loved them but didn't hear the last one? The one that was released 58 years ago? Must have been a, uh, deep love.

Off the top of my head, pretty sure that one was their best, easily.

Was Graduation really the last one? That's a shame. What happened to the boys? That album was phenomenal.

Yep. Their third and last one. For now I hope. But I'm afraid the band is finished....

From Frontiers Music:

OD is a brand new melodic rock band from Finland who we've recently signed. We'll be releasing their debut album in early 2017, but wanted to give you a preview of their tasty licks before we unveil the first full song later this year.....

If you've been enjoying other recent signings of ours like Cruzh and Palace and also love bands like Eclipse (Sweden), Work of Art, and the like, then this will be right up your alley!

Holy shit, snippets or not, I think that sounds absolutely fantastic. The first song in that trailer is divine. I really, really want to hear this album.

Press release:

Up and coming Finnish rockers OD have changed their name to One Desire.

“With a new lineup compared to when we recorded the demos and in order to avoid misunderstandings on the name, we thought it made more sense to call us ONE DESIRE,” says drummer and founding member Ossi Sivula. “We will keep the “old” OD logo but the good thing is that we are finally ready to unleash the music. We’re coming – get ready!”

ONE DESIRE have recently delivered their debut album to the label.Songs have already turned heads in the industry with insiders making comments like: “This band really is excellent, kind of reminds me of hearing H.E.A.T for the first time. Same kind of magic.” or “These songs I listened to are really strong. “Strong contender for album of the year.” and with Serafino Perugino - Frontiers’s very own President – saying: “In the last 20 years it is rare that I have felt so excited about a new band!”

ONE DESIRE is:

- Jimmy Westerlund (producer of Negative, Sturm Und Drang, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, Pitbull etc.) – guitars
- André Linman (ex Sturm Und Drang) – lead vocals
- Ossi Sivula – drums
- Jonas Kuhlberg (Paul Di´Anno, Cain´s Offering, MyGrain) – bass

Get ready for a mind blowing melodic rock album! More news soon!

    • Another Robert Mason post, but this time I really do feel a connection with it. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but my name is Dustin.  Everybody calls me Dusty, so when I saw the new Warrant album (Rockaholic) featured not only one of my favourite vocalists, but also included a track called Dusty's Revenge, I couldn't believe it. I then find out that it's a concept album about a "Rockaholic" called Dusty. For obvious reasons, I love this album. Here's a couple of tracks.
    • Harpsichord.    I thought of it and it was random, so there you go.
    • From their FB page: Alcatrazz wish to make the following announcement: Back in late 2020 the brilliant Doogie White came in to help us out with our then already booked live dates after the departure of the previous vocalist (those dates were ultimately postponed to late 2021 due to the Covid lockdowns). We all had a GREAT time...and thus, one thing led to another and before we knew it we had made two fantastic albums and toured considerably in a nearly 4 year period. Now our schedule is getting busier and busier, as is Doogie's with his very fine solo work... and with that, the inevitable clashing of dates in our respective diaries, and needless to say, the impossibility of him being able to be in two places at one time. We remain on very very good terms with Doogie and cannot thank him enough for his contributions to the band, he is very welcome on our stage anytime, as are all past Alcatrazz alumni. Current Warlord vocalist and someone already known to many Alcatrazz fans (as co-producer and also contributing songwriter for Alcatrazz's past 3 albums) Giles Lavery will be stepping up for the 2024 live dates - and with that we will be reintroducing many songs from the Alcatrazz past, including some not played in many years. Giles's first show is 22nd of March in New Orleans, lets all make him feel welcome and please lets also give a massive thank you to our dear friend Doogie White for everything he gave to this band since 2020, he is a true pro and a great person! Doogie has a video message to the fans that we will share later today as well. Jimmy, Gary, Joe, Larry.
    • Maybe it's because I've heard GnR a couple thousand times by now, but I much prefer "Fall to Pieces" by Velvet Revolver over "Sweet Child o Mine" at this point in my life.
    • I'll have to investigate that Durbin. I'd count Striker and Mick Mars among the best metal releases as well now that I think about it.
    • Haven't picked up Saxon yet, but as far as metal goes, I love the new Durbin album as well.
    • I wasn’t thrilled with the singles as they came out, other than “The Serpent and the King”, but I’ll be damned if they haven’t grown on me while listening to them as part of the cohesive package that is “Invincible Shield”. I broke down and picked up the Target exclusive to get the three bonus tracks, and I enjoy them too. Overall, a damn fine addition to the JP discography. Is it better than “Firepower“? I’m not there yet, but time will tell. 🤔 This one and Saxon have set the bar pretty high for metal this year. 👍
    • Agree with this. Though I think you should check out Firepower. You can get it real cheap new everywhere. It is molten. I'm also enjoying Invincible very much and 2024 new music as a whole.
    • I remember my early days on the internet joining a group on Yahoo (yeah thats how long ago it was) and the woman who created the group was trying to persaude me how great Creed was, so much so that she sent me the first two albums on CD. I had no idea what they sounded like. When I played them all I could think is that they sounded like Pearl Jam, and I fucking hate Pearl Jam. I ended up trading them for something better. I can't remember the ins and outs of it, but I somehow shared my CD collection online and she noticed straight away that the Creed CDs were not listed. She asked me why and I said I sold them as really did not like them, and got something I did like. She never spoke to me again after that
