Sounds great! Looking forward to this one.

Just wish I had hair like those guys instead of my Scorpions hair style.

Bloody great song that 'One Life'. Could be a good kick off to the new year this one.

I'm not sure we heard the same song. I mean, it was good, but it definitely didn't make me spunk all over my monitor as it appeared to have done for you.

So I'm clear, the original guitarist left the band to play with Molly Hatchet? What a shame - sounds like he basically single handedly ruined the band and their hopes for making a mark.

Well, one thing's for sure - those new dudes won't be winning any beauty contests, but the new song sounds okay-ish. Kind of average to be honest. Probably not something I'd keep in my collection. But I'll hope for better than that if I'm to enjoy the disc.

This is a real surprise for me......There were a few tracks off the self titled that pulled my chain......I really liked what I heard on the track here, "One Life". I've got this one added to my "to get list".....

The real talent is missing.

I never heard the first album, but would it have been nothing without him?

Go get it, unbelievable album and the price has really come down on it because of a re-issue. Without Bobby Ingram this may suck, I could be wrong.

Shit sounds pretty good, for me they were an acquired taste, they were extremely soft for me at the time, and as times gone on, Ive learned to appreciate that ST disc more and more, Ive always enjoyed the unique and one of a kind sound of the vocals, he really has one of those special voices, Only The Young has been an auto favorite since the day I heard it, but the rest of the songs, like I said, have been acquired, and I do appreciate it now, and I can't wait to get this disc.

Ok. We have a firm release date for the record! We were hoping to get it out in January, but due to manufacturing schedules, and to help maximize the promotional cycle, the release date will be FEBRUARY 21st! Mark your calendar.

After talking with some music industry people, and in light of some recent articles on the state of the music business, we feel it is important that the listening public know that on the new China Sky album, there is NO Autotune, NO programmed sequences, NO artificial anything of any kind. The performances you hear were played and sung by actual musicians, and have not been altered in any way. How many current recording acts today can say that?

Initial spins and I am left a little disappointed. I wasn't expecting the heady heights of the debut, but this comes nowhere near if i'm honest in all departments. 'One Life' is still an excellent song for me and kicks off the album really well, but it is the best one on show and the album doesn't really get going after that. Don't get me wrong, it's certainly not a bad album and has some goodish songs on show, but it doesn't exactly excite me that much either. I shall spin it some more and maybe it will grow on me a little bit.

I basically feel exactly the same about the new album, but the only difference with me is that it actually exceeded expectations, if I'm being completely honest. I did not expect anything from this, and was actually surprised to hear about five pretty decent songs on it. Initial rating for it is 65%.

I must say, though, I was listening to the debut today and whilst I like it very much, these guys were never real champions of the genre for me. Their songs, whilst mostly very nice, were all soooo cheesy too. So cheesy, that I always had it in my head, for some reason, that these guys were a christian band. Don't ask me why! I think it was partly because of the guy in the band with a moustache and an almost-mullet. Jeez that guy looks like an 80's rock christian. Or was it just their super, super corny song subjects and titles ('Last romantic warrior' zomfg!). I dunno, I definitely like the debut a lot, but it's not my all-time fave. good, fun listening, though.

It's a safe record, harmless rock I can say, worse than the debut but like Geoff, I'm not entirely blown away by their debut. I like it but didn't get the chance for some frequent spins. As for this one, 75% or slightly below will suffice

This is a pretty good cover of the Allman Bros./ Molly Hatchet classic. One of the better tunes of the 2nd China Skyalbum

    • Good tune! Haven't really heard anything about them doing a new album so guessing maybe that song was a leftover from previous recording sessions?
    • Given this 3 or 4 spins now and it's a really good album. Pretty sure my comment above was referring to My Favourite Enemy which I now really like. Stand out track for me. First listens can easily be off. But pretty much every so is a keeper for me. Only problem is that if above 5/10 means the song is a keeper, most of the songs are a 6 with a few 7's.  So good songs, but not much that really pops out as killer tracks.
    • Been listening to this later and it's pretty good. If I'd heard it back in the day I would have loved it, but hard to hear it now with the same vibe. Very Babylon AD sounding on some songs.
    • Appreciate the support and enthusiasm for the title. In ALL past releases I've fought hard and at times with the artists and rights holders to release something I as a fan would want to buy - and that includes original artwork, track listings and bonus material etc.. (had some good fights over those).  However, in this case, I fully agree with the guys. Its just not feasible to release and promote something called Sex Crimes in 2023. Politically correct, woke, reality...it just is what it is. The band has felt uneasy over the title for some time now. We will endeavor to make the release as true to the original apart from that title and a fresh take on the artwork. Apologies for the right-wing comments, that's my immediate reaction when I start hearing cancel culture stuff.
    • Yeah, I felt that Auslander was having a go at those who are easily offended, not Andrew.  I think the wombat got the wrong end of the stick.
    • This makes my brain hurt. You literally cannot win in this day and age.
    • Bringing politics into a post about a band we are all here to celebrate isn't a good look, and that's coming from me, a right winger, because somebody would like a proper real release as in the original artwork and the way we bought it in 86 isn't being a right winger, it's being a good audiophile, I too think it's absurd to finally give this album a proper release after waiting so long for it, then to completely alter it for the sake of what? it's a re-release, that is going to be bought by people who already know what it is, and not some clueless stick figure buying it on a whim, It just kind of feels like a slap in the face, primarily because we all have a semi good idea as to why it's being changed, and that isn't right wing, that's actually left wing these days, so should I not buy it cause its altered? just to make a political point? I mean since you aren't concerned about him being offended? well I guess I could be labeled "others", and I would think you'd be a bit more understanding why someone would be irked over the decision, and it aint because they voted for Trump or Biden, but if me and him don't buy it you'd be losing a sale right? you can say you don't care, but if everybody didn't buy it to make a point, then you'd care, so why play to the people who aren't going to buy it regardless? instead of the people waiting decades for it to be released? that's all he's saying, you don't gotta be an asshole. If you knew him you'd know how horrible calling him a right winger is to him, as I assure you he's not, I feel I gotta say something, I blew it off originally but since the curtain got pulled back I feel the same way he does, but I'm not gonna fight over it, and it is a valid feeling and im sure others possess it, so you can call me all the names you want, talk about my mom, or my ex, you can trash me and my politics, I welcome it, but you really don't gotta bag on somebody for being a little put off over a 1st time release and the only CD release of an album many of us here love, BTW, regardless what you say to me, I'll still buy it, and I still appreciate what your doing even if I disagree with how your doing it, cool bro. now lets here what a fascist i am.
    • Thanks 4 the heads up bro, I truly appreciate it
