Quite an easy one for me, except the last 2 bands which I have only heard a couple of tunes from each

Signal

House Of Lords

Dokken

Fate (but only just)

Shy

Crashdiet

Wow, some tricky ones there:

Signal - "Loud & Clear"

House Of Lords - "House Of Lords"

Dokken - "Under Lock & Key" (Actually this one was very damn close)

Treat - "Dreamhunter" (ridiculously close... could go either way)

TNT - "Intuition"

Crazy Lixx - "Loud Minority" (Again, stupidly close buy maybe just a few more killer on CL... just)

Signal - "Loud & Clear"

Cinderella - "Night Songs"

Dokken - "Under Lock & Key" (It would have been Great White but I misread what GW album it was. "Under Lock & Key" kicks ass too so it's all good.)

Treat - "Dreamhunter"

Shy - "Excess All Areas"

Crazy Lixx - "Loud Minority"

I highly recommend both the Lion and Crashdiet.

Backed, I'd even recommend Crazy Lixx, but I think the production is a bit weak.

Can't vote in matchups #4 and 5 since I don't own or know much from any of those bands, but from the others I voted this-a-way:

#1: Lion

#2: Cinderella

#3: Dokken

#6: Crashdiet

Lion is just a great hard rock band with kind of like a heavy Whitesnake sound with a killer Coverdale influenced vocalist named Kal Swan who was in Blind Fury and they had the killer Doug Aldrich on guitar, who also played with Hurricane, Dio, House of Lords, Burning Rain, Bad Moon Rising and has been playing with Whitesnake for the last 5 years. Mark Edwards(Steeler & Riot) played drums for them.

Crashdiet is a Scandi Sleaze Metal band that kicks serious butt. Their debut "Rest in Sleaze" is a new classic but the singer Dave Lepard commited suicide. The follow up with a different singer called "The Unattractive Revolution" kicked ass too.

  • 4 months later...

2. Cinderella - Night Songs is waaaaay better than that of the self-titled House of Lords (though I still enjoy that damn album)

3. Dokken - Under Lock, Great White improved alot after their debut

Let's keep this simple, shall we? I'm practicing my brevity.

1. Lion: "Dangerous Attraction"

2. Cinderella: "Night Songs"

3. Dokken: "Under Lock & Key"

4. Treat: "Dreamhunter"

5. TNT: "Intuition"

6. Crashdiet: "Rest in Sleaze"

Pretty cool match-ups here! Some hard choices, too...

Here's who I voted for;

- Lion - "Dangerous Attraction" ...probably the closest one for me, Mark Free still wins in the vocal category though

- Cinderella - "Night Songs"

- Dokken - "Under Lock and Key"

- Treat - "Dreamhunter"

- Shy - "Excess All Areas"

- CrashDiet - "Rest In Sleaze"

    • It's ok. I think people know I am a massive Crue fan, and I like a lot of stuff by them that people hate (the Generation Swine album for example) but the only newer original song I have cared about them in recent years was The Dirt. Everything else has been either meh or crap. I did also like their cover of Like a virgin, which I know a lot of peeps didn't like, so it's not like I am just craving the good old days. I would be happy if we could get a song close to Afraid, Saints of Los Angeles or the aforementioned The Dirt. I think songs like that will be few and far between sadly.
    • Have to agree. Although my expectations were that it would be absolutely horrible like Dogs of War lol. Still far away from classic Motley Crue but I at least made it all the way through this one so that's a positive. Still nothing to write home about but at least it rocks fairly well and there's a semblance of a song there.
    • Just ordered!   All three Magic Dance EPs (Another World, Kiss Scene and Haunting Me) combined into one CD. All new artwork, lyric booklet and three bonus tracks. Silver-pressed replication CD.     https://magicdance.bandcamp.com/album/magic-dance-the-eps
    • Stumbled upon these guys on the Instagrams. Pretty good mix of Modern Rock and Metal with blazing guitars and heavy double-bass drums, and Pop Punk-style vocals.
    • Well... I just jizzed in my pants.  I'm so glad these guys aren't a one-and-done act. Looking forward to much more music, hopefully.
    • Great album upon first few spins..I mean how good/catchy is the track "Lets Go Rent A Video" especially for those of us who actually remember doing that lol
