  1. Really? SL is the album of the year for me. Midnite City would be lucky to make my top 10. Like you said, everyone hears different things and likes different music, so no big deal, but SL is amazing to me.
  2. Yeah, Merry Christmas to all. Hope everyone gets to spend some family time and wind down and enjoy life for a day or so. I'm not religious, but Christmas is a time for taking it easy and relaxing. no shops open, no emails, no worries. Side note, I was flicking through Netflix and came across some movie or series that has QR Cum On Feel The Noize as the theme song.I forgot what a killer version that is and my gift to everyone here is is. Let it take you back to when you first heard it and were blown away by is. Doesn't matter if you'd heard the Slade version before or not, this is the way to do a cover. Make it better in some way. Or why bother? Turn it up LOUD and enjoy!
  3. They toured recently, but the setlist had nothing at all off Race, so what's the point? I saw them a million times as a kid at blue light disco etc lol Then one night a mate and I randomly went and saw them at some club in Northcote and they had released Race (I wasn't following them, so I didn't know about it) and they blew me away. Awesome hard rock, killer songs, what a great night. Now Brian seems to distance himself from that. Side note, the music teacher at my kids primary school sung on Brian's Brill album. Was very strange as the teacher was over at my place, we were talking about music, he mentioned Brill and I pulled the CD, and there was his name lol
  4. Tod Howarth always had a 'shaky' voice for me. Kinds like Ace, an acquired taste.
  5. I don't know. I think he's kind of a no-one but is fairly highly regarded because he has a 4 octave voice or something. When I posted that comment I wondered what happened to Freddie Nelson, and found that he released a solo album last year. Heard it a couple of times and it's also pretty good so far. If you're going to listen to anything off United States, I'd recommend Paris Hilton Look-Alike Waste Of Time Girl From Omaha I'm Not Addicted
  6. The album he did with Freddie Nelson, United States, was really good.
  7. Always fairly consistent with their albums for me. Shame.
  8. Great song off a great album. #1 this year for me. Closely followed by Roxanne Then.... daylight before #3
  9. I like LA Guns. Some of their stuff anyway. Probably really like 10 songs prior to Vicious Circle, which is probably their best album for me. But after that they haven't interested me that much. Been sitting on the CD for a long time and finally gave it a few spins. Given that I went in hoping it wasn't in the vein of newer LA Guns type stuff I am pretty happy. Leans towards Enuff Z Nuff material, which is a good thing. I think this is one of those albums where the artist decided to record what he wanted rather than trying to get a few hit singles etc Usually that idea bombs, because the stuff in their heart sucks, but this one isn't one of those. Really pleasantly surprised.
  10. Echo Echo haha, for me it's an epic song love the changes through it
  11. This was done in another thread, but I couldn't find that to reply, so I figured I'd start a thread Not sure what 'rules' there are for this type of thing, but I went with 15 songs, max 1 from any album. I sorted them the way I thought they went best together, starting strong, and finishing strong. 01 Reincarnation - Shiraz Lane 02 Broken Chandeliers - Roxanne 03 Let It Be - CoreLeoni 04 Sham Pain - Five Finger Death Punch 05 Progenitors - Treat 06 Waking Lions - Pop Evil 07 Two Coins And A Dead Man - Reece 08 More Than The Moon - Station 09 Time - Ammunition 10 Hangover In Hannover - Electric Boys 12 Please Come - Black Stone Cherry 13 Higher Than Love - Angeline 13 Too Little Too Late - SteelCity 14 You Don't Understand Me - Midnite City 15 You're Not Alone - Kissin' Dynamite
  12. no and no. sorry, just not my thing.
  13. Never been a fan of this band. Reading through this thread, of course they sound like Led Zep. That's neither here nor there for me. I'm listening In Your Face for the third time and sadly there isn't a track on it that has really grabbed me. Stargazer, Gotta Go and Who Do You Love are the best, but they are pretty mediocre, so I'll probably shelve this one for a while ever No interest in any other material I guess.
  14. Starlight is their best album for me. Production has been pretty good right through Here's my list of songs in their best of folder 01 All Lips N' Hips 02 If I Had A Car 03 Cheek To Cheek 04 Who Are You 05 Mary In The Mystery World 06 The Sky Is Crying 07 Bed Of Roses 08 Dying To Be Loved 09 The Groover 10 Mountains And Sunsets 11 Sleeping In The Worlds Smallest Bed 12 Father Popcorn's Magic Oysters 13 Angel In An Armoured Suit 14 Ten Thousand Times Goodbye 15 Put Your Arms Around Me 16 Rollin' Down The Road 17 Dancing On My Own 18 Desire 19 If Only She Was Lonely 20 Ain't No Gettin' Over You 21 Junk In The Trunk 22 Lucy Fur 23 Basf 24 Starflight United 25 Hangover In Hannover 26 There She Goes Again 27 You Spark My Heart 28 Gone Gone Gone 29 First The Money Then The Honey 30 Knocked Out By Tyson 31 One Of The Fallen Angels
  15. Just listened to them, and.... nope Sorry, not a big fan of Ronnie's voice.
  16. Easily my favorite Dio song, not that I like many.
  17. We've got Butch Walker touring which would be awesome, but $75 is a bit rich. Prolly still go though. Also Corabi solo playing MC'94 in full. Saw him once before and he was really good. Hopefully will play some of the solo stuff as well.
  18. I don't know, I like some of the funky stuff. Maybe there's a bit of Basf in there, or Junk In The Trunk? Nothing major, but only hints here and there, and not really an issue. Not the reason I'm not a big fan of the song.
  19. Was reading somewhere that Man In The Moon was their song that they gave to Corabi. I actually prefer this version.
  20. Looking to get Whitesnake Defiants Eclipse Treatment
