  1. I saw them live last year. Were very good. Had the new singer for a while now
  2. Finally saw Bohemian Rhapsody Great well made movie. Well acted, well performed, told the story well. Kind of rushed the ending a bit, but I'm probably comparing to documentaries on Freddie and Queen, which I guess give the die hard fans more of the full story. This movie is geared towards the general public - hollywood style, but like I said, was great.
  3. I used to want the product in my hands. See the artwork, read the lyrics (hopefully), even go through the credits and look for surprises and quirks. No longer though. When some were released as downloads only it removed the ability to have a perfect collection. Same with the cardboard cases (for me at least). I wanted all mine in jewel cases. But the quality of digital downloads is the same. For that reason I still collect DVD's as quality of downloads still varies. Netflix etc has kind of helped with that, but I often wonder if I'll always have access to everything I want streaming. In the end my DVD collection is doomed. In the end everyone's CD collections will be quirky keepsakes. Soon releases will be online only. This isn't something I am hoping for, but just the way it will happen.
  4. Probably not too many Saliva fans here, but this is pretty good so far
  5. For me the keepers were Cross My Heart Otehr Than Me Burnout To Fade Life Is A River Tesla are a weird band in that Jeff's voice is so unique and can be really abrasive, or quite delicate at times. When I hear a new album, I generally find it pretty easy to know what I'll not like from first listen. This posted song is an exception as I initially think it's average, but there is potential after a few listens. Some nice melodies and interesting guitar bits in it that are unique enough to get my interest. I have no doubt I'll find between 4 and 6 songs that I'll really enjoy on this.
  6. I love The Interview. Second time is better. I saw Killers. Some movie with Ashton Kutcher, which is kind of like Mr & Mrs Smith as far as stupid storylines goes. Stupid acting, stupid lines, movie was watchable, but wouldn't go there again.
  7. I haven't bought physical CD's for years. And purchasing greatest hits, best ofs, ultimate collections, etc electronically is pretty pointless when you already have everything electronically. Admittedly, most of my HS is still CD, but I'll get around to ripping this and the rest of my collection one day. In 5 years this is a moot post, as for the first time since their 'comeback' vinyl sales have declined. this coupled with the massive decline in CD sales is just reiterating that CD's are the new 'Blockbuster' Doomed....
  8. Watched Time Trap last night. Damn good movie. Pretty different, and easy enough to watch. Mastered the fine line of releasing information when needed, and was a fully rounded movie, leaving you interested the whole way through and satisfied at the end. Recommended. Don't watch a trailer first. One of those movies where it's better to not know anything about it and jump on the ride.
  9. Saw The Predator. Weird kind of rehash, kind of new movie. The scientist chick turned out to be an action hero yawn. Predictable story. Very predictable story in fact. So much so that it was pretty boring. Death Kiss Fascinating in that the lead actor is the spitting image of a young Charles Bronson. That in itself had me watch the film. Vigilante/revenge flick. Again, very predictable and not very well made overall. Lots of B grade acting around in medium to big budget films lately. OK, if you need something to watch.
  10. In reality, you need to do some soul searching and self analysis. Easy to cast blame on to other family members, but sometimes need to sit and allocate blame to both them and yourself. In my case I did this with my sister. I realised where I had let the relationship down and admitted that to her when I tried to mend things. As mentioned above, my mother get involved and turned her away from me again. This was 15 to 20 years ago, so not something I dwell on, but I feel some kind of comfort in thinking that I did all I could. Prior to that my father took us to family counselling. For the first appointment, she had the opportunity to speak her mind and shovel the shit on to me. I started to defend myself, but was directed to sit and listen and that I would get my chance to explain my side. So I obeyed and sat for an hour listening to my sister run through all the issues she had with me, and the counsellor discuss them with her. Then time was up and I was told that the next appointment would be my turn to speak. lol, my sister said "yeah, I don't think I need to come back for any more of this" Pretty shitty situation, but like I said, I feel like I have a clean conscience. It's really hard, when someone is being a terrible person towards you, to reflect at when involvement you may have had in that, and what amount of blame falls at your feet, but doing so can allow you to move on in a much better state.
  11. Ride Basically the story of an Uber driver's night gone wrong, without mentioning Uber. Also very similar to the Tom Cruise flick Collateral Short movie at 77 mins or something, and OK to watch. Ending was average for me. Probably a bit arty where it didn't need to be.
  12. If that camera effect is to make the singer look younger it ain't working. good song, unattractive clip. would be better with strippers or something
  13. Bird Box Needed to see what all the fuss was about. Weird film. As suspected I wasn't really wrapt with the ending, but that's the type of film it is. Won't say more as spoilers, but it was OK I guess. Bandersnatch - the latest Black Mirror episode. This is a "choose your own adventure" film on Netflix Was actually better than I expected. My daughter and I spent 3 hours going through different endings. Feeling that we hadn't seen them all, we downloaded a copy and skipped through that. We found only a couple of bits we'd missed. Need to watch on Netflix or it doesn't work. People are loving it or hating it, I thought it was pretty good.
  14. Yeah, usual Sleaze Roxx list. Heavy on the AC/DC sounding bands. No big deal, just not my thing. Their individual lists are usually better, or the public list
  15. Side note and still off topic, but I saw School Of Rock stage production tonight and really liked this song. Could easily be on a Steel Panther album.
  16. Ozzy's version is better, which is a kind of weird thing for me to say. Probably my fav song he did as well. I guess his weird voice is pretty unique.
  17. Thanks, appreciate it. I'll check some out. I really liked Love Cream. Songs were kinda crude at times, but were great musically. Back Door Lover etc
  18. Yeah Rampage was better than I expected, should have known it would be with the Rock in it. I saw it on a plane as a last resort and was happily surprised. Saw the ne Johnny English. Meh, not sure it works at his age any more. Or maybe it just wasn't funny. Easy enough to watch, at the end I didn't feel like I wasted 90 mins of my like, but I probably had better things to do
  19. Listening to the EP and the album now. EP is stronger. Because Of You is a cool track off the album, but sadly it seems a bit like most of the songs that didn't make the EP. Edit: We All Fall Down is also pretty good.
  20. Holmes And Watson Went in with high expectations having seen some trailers that were hilarious. Sadly, the trailers were much MUCH better than the movie, which was a big let down. sadface
  21. Cry Of Love was the same mould as what? I'm not sure I listened to COL. There were a bunch of bands that people love here that were way to synthy and poppy for me.
  22. Yeah, was a real toss up with Roxanne. GFY is an awesome song. First listen it was a bit corny, then it grew, and grew...
  23. Everything you wrote was fair and reasonable, based on different musical opinions and tastes, until you said out of your top 100. That's just ridiculous...
